BTN: $5.25 (105 bb)
SB: $6 (120 bb)
BB: $5.02 (100.4 bb)
Hero (UTG): $5 (100 bb)
MP: $4.47 (89.4 bb)
CO: $5 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with J 5 A A
Hero raises to $0.15, 2 folds, BTN calls $0.15, SB calls $0.13, BB folds

Flop: ($0.50) T A Q (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.35, BTN calls $0.35, SB raises to $1.88, Hero calls $1.53, BTN folds

Turn: ($4.61) 6 (2 players)
SB bets $3.97 and is all-in, Hero calls $2.97 and is all-in

River: ($10.55) 9 (2 players, 2 are all-in)

Opponents raise on the flop indicates a strong hand most of the time KJxx .Should I raise and get it in on the flop??My equity against KJ is 40% so my EV if I raise would be
EV=0.4*(11.55-4.5)-0.6*4.5 EV=0.12$ or 2.4bb
Playing the hand the way I played it sucks cause If the board pairs on the turn my opponent won't stack off.And if it doesn't pair he gets his last money in as a 73% favorite

Hi,

w/o the J it's a clear fold on the flop.

However i dont' agree you are not getting payed off, especially at plo5 as people will always wonder if you have the FD. In that case you could actually call regardless, as you can the rep diamonds when they hit.

As it's plo5 i would probably just go AI. You have 40% vs KJ, but you have a huge lead over everythign alse. But you can also play it like you did, and try to play diamonds in your favour.

Keep in mind, if you only have a set here and are sure he has the nuts, you have to fold flop if you are not going to try and bluff.

Hi,

you have 37% with bare AA w/o the jack. There are 2 cards left so you cannot make the call which is - EV here vs a defined range because you have to take into account that villain will jam those turns that you brick and might c/f those turns that you miss therefore giving you no implieds.

Hope this makes sense :)

Skod
