To-Do List for now
-Re-do my website: I realized that adding stuff about travel/gaming is extremely amateurish so I'm going to redo my site, move from wordpress.com to a private host and use wordpress plug it from there. This should give me greater control over my site, improve its design and should allow me to use shopping carts for my site.
-Finalize the price: I talked to a couple of guys and they told me that it was probably way too cheap. Thinking of raising the price. I'm sorry to disappoint some of you who saw that I wrote $500 earlier, at that point I was still undecided. I'm going to add a ton of bonus content to make up for the price hike.
-Work on the bonus content:
>5 live sessions videos for various stakes, with an emphasis on preflop spots to reinforce the lessons taught in Preflop Perfection
>Free 40 min video reviews for early buyers (worth $200-300 if we go by my current private coaching rates of $150/hr)
>Free Preview of my next postflop series - Probably some CREV video covering flop play. I'll probably end up telling you that you should be defending much wider than you think
>Promotional Material - I should be able to get permission to promote my material at Pokerstrategy so I'll probably be producing videos regarding preflop play.
-Outsource some work to freelancers:
My friend recommended me this website fiverr.com. I spent quite a number of hours searching for logo designers (for this course) and for illustrators. Thinking of re-doing my books to make them look more professional ♦ Way too many people tell me the books look like crap

80% of the course is aimed at preflop play (mostly the theory videos)
Bonus videos will contain some postflop content and I do talk about flop play a little (like in limped pots, and there's also a quick postflop primer video with some CREV thrown in). There are also live videos

-Main Theory Videos (15 videos, 7h 36min)
-Bonus Theory Videos (3 videos, 1h 36min) - I intend to add 1 or 2 more about deepstacked play and antes, maybe a quick video Flop cbet stuff and how to balance frequencies
-Live Session Videos (3 videos, 2h 16min) - So far 1 NL1000 and 2 NL500 sessions. The main target audience for this course is NL100/200 and maybe NL50 so I'll definitely play a few more sessions at those limits
-Session Reviews (none so far) - I'll probably offer session reviews as part of an added bonus, so if I can provide the course to many people then this section will contain more videos

The freelancer finally finished my order for a new cover. I think this certainly looks much better than my old. Redoing the illustrations for my first book would cost somewhere in the ballpark of $250. Would having professionals draw the illustrations greatly increase the value of the book in your opinion?

It wouldn't really add to the content itself, but it would definitely add to the entertainment value imo. It would also make everything look a bit more appealing in general.

Whether or not it's worth the $250 is tough to say though. There's not many (if any?) books with illustrations like yours on the market afaik (could be wrong, haven't seen or read too many books) so it could certainly be an extra selling point.

Get in touch with the +ev comic guy imo. Have him redo your illustrations with those characters involved + some cool comic strips in between chapters.

@jmackenzie: Well I thought I'd prefer to retain 100% ownership of my books so that's probably not a good idea.

I've decided to go ahead and request for the freelancer to complete the job, it should take ~2 weeks.

Hehe just completed my first successful coaching in Mandarin without fking up too hard. My student probably understood 90% of what I said so I suppose I was successful.

If you guys read my blog back in 2011 you would have read about something similar about my struggles with coaching mainland chinese people I guess I should use this opportunity to work on my Mandarin skills which have been left untouched since I graduated from high school.
