Overbetting
- I want to incorporate this skill into my game. (will probably update this post to complete the info, any resources/advice on overbetting are greatly appreciated)

Good spots to overbet bluff-
:diamond:when u credibly rep a strong range (duh), his range is inclined towards medium strength showdown value hands, u know he won't fold to a standard sized bet.
:diamond:when u get called down, use that info to overbet liter 4 value

Will set a reference point for today (26 apr), starting to really work on the technical side of my game, I feel I started to play too much based on feel / experience rather than math based. I feel ideally u want both.

So today I started working on my game, topics will include
:spade:Blinds defense vs BU
:spade:Bu stealing
:spade:Overbetting / Underbetting
:spade:flatting 4bets

Decided I do not have enough self-control / willpower to limit myself while surfing potentially distracting stuff like facebook/youtube so I am cutting them out totally. Way better off reading Atlas Shrugged on the kindle.

Another potential distraction is watsapp, and overall wireless on my phone. So I will keep that shit off, especially at the beginning of the day.

Great blog, keep it up.
After reading it and Pkrpains's, I am starting to think that a lot of us are going through very much the same things.
I sent you a friend request, waiting for the next post :)

Yo, long time no write, thanks for the props E.

Didn't see much use to writing lately honestly, I've been really struggling getting back on top of my game and schedule, so this is summing up the month of May for me.

Review

I don’t have a lot of time right now for reviewing but if I don’t do it now I won’t ever.
So the month of May was quite good overall for me. Negative momentum from last months translated into this one - March and April started going into a downwards spiral (28k hands, 19k).
From mid May I formulated another plan where I try to put all of my 5hours in mornings (for numerous reasons) after I wake up, ideally before I hit the gym at 3pm, playing 5days/week. Firstly I thought it will be too little volume but I ended up playing quite a lot and it’s a good base. The last 2 weeks I really hit my volume goals which is a real momentum changer compared to last months. Ended up playing 35k hands, quite satisfied.
It really is a challenge to put in my hrs of play daily before 3pm and this is my main focus right now.
It all starts with the hour of going to bed. The right type of sleep for this schedule seems to be monophasic (7,5h) instead of byphasic (6h+1h) because I need most energy in the morning. Tricky part is my gym membership is to get there at max 3pm. For this I would need to go to sleep at 11PM which is highly unrealistic for me (my current average time is 4AM). So solution is change type of gym subscription so I can go whenever (I can save the $$ from other areas – this month I will be VERY careful with expenses).
So go to bed at 1AM, get up at 8.45AM, get to the gym at 4PM. The key here is maneuvrability, where even if I go to bed later, I can still put all hours in before hitting the gym, which is SO key.

Ok, that’s all so cool and great but what do I do until 25th of the month, when I change my subscription? I will take the byphasic route going to bed @1AM, slipping in a 45min nap and a powersnack between sessions.

Boom, so this is now the priority, getting the hours in before 3PM. Should reformulate this. Get in bed at or before 1AM (this is the real challenge).

Month's Graph

Guess I received a Heater of the Gods from the Universe for aggressively getting back on track towards PowerHousin'

JUNE GOALS

1.Keep the Momentum of Excellence going! 4 weeks of 5days x 5hours.
[X]Week 1
[X]Week 2

June
Week 1 review

Overall it's been a good week. Ended up skipping Tuesday's grind to recover my sleeping schedule. This seems to be one of my main sticking points honestly (sleep). Even as we speak, it's 1AM and I intended to go to sleep 1-2 hrs ago.
Recovered Tuesday's grind on Saturday, put some extra hours during this week, satisfied with my work ethic. After all, I've been home with my family since Wednesday so not much to do but grind. This meant disregarding my getting up early to grind schedule.

Summary
~29hrs (goal 25) of grinding
12,4k hands
222Euro RB (150 goal) woooo

Another big issue I see with me is my Sundays so far. They have been pretty hilarious. Overall, the weekend is for chillin/other activities, while I want part of my Sunday to be spent reviewing the week, planning the next week, overall looking at my life and setting goals, evaluating where I'm going/coming from. If I don't do these things on Sunday, I'm not doing them, period.

The solution would be to plan out my Sunday in detail and really set a time of day I am doing all the 'productive' stuff. Today I haven't done anything yet and it's because I had so much in mind to do
- determine what I want to do with my summer
- control finances (get an app to track expenses), plan moneyz
- frame relationship w/ gf to be able to be involved in more areaz
- etc.

Poker
I still feel uncomfortable @ NL100, I really need to start putting aside time for working on my game. I am aware that I am not being very articulate with this --> not working on my game this week lol. To do when I have a free evening (not going out / not playing etc)

Lessons:
Plan Sundays also, map out your activities, don't just hope they will get done. Ok I should do this on Saturday but I guess usually Saturdays I will be too distracted from partying / x-rated times etc. So ok, I must set a rule from now on.
I will see to my tasks for the day on Sundays after my first meal of the day (this way I have time to lay around if I have my gf over), it's quite realistic. First task is to map out all tasks for the day so it's not so intimidating for my mind.

Also, I should really make putting in the 5hrs before 3PM important for me! Really see the benefits of this (made a document on this) and work hardcore towards implementing it.

Goals for Jun, Week 2

1. Keep the Run of the Gods going for the 4th week in a row at any cost! 5x5
2. Get to productive tasks on Sunday after 1st meal of the Day
3. See GF max 5/7 days
Perfection Challenge! Have 2 Flawless Days (go to sleep early / put in volume before 3PM).

Awareness timez - it's 1.30AM. I will have to take my parents to the airport in 3,5h. So my sleeping schedule is going to be fucked. I will have to get it back on track ASAP. Sacrifice Monday for this - no gym (take the day off now), no going out. So all I have to do is
1. See GF
2. Grind 5h
3. Get to bed 23-01

Booyakasha!
Wassup, so it seems there is a transition happening in my blog. As the title implies, it will become more of a success journal. It will illustrate how I work with myself, to manage my time, to keep a balanced life and crush poker, most of my thought process (the result of 5+ years of self development) will be laid out explicitly.

Focusing exquisitely on getting results and continuously improving them. I will keep topics relevant though.

This was just to 'apologize' to the ppl who will find it boring. But hey, if you don't like it, don't read it.

Week2 Goals

1. Keep the Run of the Gods going for the 4th week in a row at any cost! 5x5
2. Get to productive tasks on Sunday after 1st meal of the Day
3. See GF max 5/7 days (only saw her for ~20mins today so it doesn’t count, barely made it overall I did good)

All 3 DONE!

Keeping the run impeccable, 4th week of meeting my 5x5 plan of the Gods. Haven't been this consistent in a whiiile, but I feel the difference. Putting in 5h day for 5 days became a 'must', not a 'should'. This is key. Even though I had my schedule fucked up, still found a way to put it all in, even today had to play for another 2,5h.

Perfection Challenge! Have 2 Flawless Days (go to sleep early / put in volume before 3PM).

Didn't nail this. I still have to work on my sleeping schedule, and take this more seriously. More precisely, the hour I go to bed. So.. Lessons from this week
:heart:how you start the week determines the run of the whole week (eg if u go to sleep late on sunday, you could fuck up your whole week's schedule
:heart:the main factor in your day is the previous day's going to bed time

Even as we speak, it's 12.10AM, I must go to sleep within the next 30mins. Let's see how it goes if I try to get on my schedule from the first day. Will it trigger a run of the gods?

Ok, so I should find some triggers to help me with going to bed earlier. What specifically?
Some notifications on my phone. But first off, let’s set my going to bed time. It seems one is 23:45, one is 1 AM. Let’s set a rule.
If I go out, it will be 1 AM. If I am not that busy, it’s 23:45. So it is the latter preferably, and 1AM is the last resort.
Further down the line... Let’s see how long would it take to get ready for bed. I want to incorporate a short evening ritual to keep myself conscious.

Daily Journal (Review/How can I improve 0,01% tomorrow?/Grateful for) 20m
Cooldown (ZaZen) 10m
Wash 10m
Total of 40m

This means, ritual starts at 23:15 or 00:15 (convenience). Set phone alerts for this. Done.

Week 3 Goals

1. Keep the Run of the Gods going for the 5th week in a row! 5x5
2. Get to productive tasks on Sunday after 1st meal of the Day
3. See GF max 5/7 days
4. Go to bed at the set hours at least 1/5 days.

Perfection Challenge! Have 3 Flawless Days (go to sleep@ set hours / put in volume before 3PM).

This will get me 1week closer to having a 900€ month from RB!

Cya, hurrying to bed.

All challenges went well, except for sunday due to subjective reasons lol.

Bonus!! Perfection challenge has been completed this week. Indeed going to bed ok on Sunday set the momentum for the whole week.
Complete it this week = Godlike
+1 week, Beyond Godlike (dota ftw lol)

Now iit's late night sunday. Will have to catch up somehow tomorrow with my sleep. Found a very successful entrepreneur's podcast to listen to before bed - Tai Lopez - very recommended, this guy reads a book a day lol.

Done well with poker this week also, the God run continues, I keep printing moneyz, and on the path to making this a flawless month and the most volume put in yet. So very amped up, everything going great, immersion activated.

Momentum is clearly set in motion and this time, I am not stopping. No time for more sry, gotta get my sleep right.

Sh1t man, regardless of the fact that we found similar things between us before already, I'm going through the exact same shit at the present moment. My soulmates' radar just detected something.

I met M1rCea on a train 2-3 years ago coincidentally. We talked about poker all the way home. Back then, I even shared my forum account with him so he could access more articles and post in the hand evaluation forums because I had a higher VIP level( Remember the fish days, fellow grinder? :f_biggrin: ). It's always motivational to see such progress in a fellow player. I was certainly the better player back then, but I wouldn't be so sure about that now. For that, he has my respect. He's certainly more studious and motivated than myself and he proves that hard work can substitute or even outmatch natural talent.
