One year on the road !!

F.. I'm watching this kid terribly scared and excited who took a plane to Rio one year ago and I don't recognize him anymore.

I was supposed to come back to France after one year, back to my architect life, but it's impossible now. My life changed.

I'm keeping on travelling, until I get broke, maybe...

I'm doing some travelling myself to play poker in different rooms around the world, but I'm putting South America on the backburner until I learn some Spanish and Portuguese. When I finally do make it out there though, I'll definitely be contacting you for advice finding some of these games around the continent!

Be aware that in big cities like Lima, nearly 80% of the player speak english, so it shouldn't prevent u from living the dream !!

I'm writing you from Loja, in the South of Ecuador !

After 7 months in Peru, I finally left the country. Last days have been pretty intense !

After leaving Lima, I arrived in the North Peru where I f.. lost my matriculation I don't know where. I had to make a false one in Trujillo, the big city of the North, and since then I ve been driving with it.
I then arrived in Chiclayo where I stayed for 1 week. Pretty funny step coz the manager of the casino where I played everynight went crazy when I told him about my story. He said he wanted to tell it to everyone and that s how I got interviewed by Peru all in, the peruvian 2+2.

I then headed North, to Piura. It was supposed to be a 2 hours way in the desert, but I was a bit harsh with Parkinson, my bike, and the engine burnt in the middle of nothing. I got pretty lucky coz I stopped near a farmer house who hosted me for the night while the bike was getting repaired...

I arrived the day after in Sullana, and... Wtf is this city??? Looks like a post war country. Sand streets, big holes everywhere. I stop to ask my way to some guy and first thing he says me is "beware, it's dangerous here". OMG.

Luckily, i have my couchsurfer, Ana Lucia, aka la Chata (the small one). She guides me around the town, we go to the beach and ... Well... She was pretty hot...

I went to Piura where one of her friend introduced me to the craziest poker game I ever played.

Imagine a snooker place, in which u go to the bar, and the guy let u enter the 2nd hidden room. There u play with some scary peruvian, terrible players, some of them drunk. Around 1am, in the tv displaying all the cameras, we see a man outside, a "ratero" ( stealer ), trying to take a bike. The 6 guys all get out at the same time and start to purchase him. One of them takes out a gun and shoots at him, not kidding... Putamadre, fortunately he misses him... They go back and we continue to play poker like nothing happened hahaha, and the shooter starts to tell the others how last month he killed some guy who was trying to steal in his shop.
Fucking underground poker, that was awesome, scary, and incredibly exciting at the same time..

Last days were pretty sad. Not only did I have to leave la Chata with whom I had a great time, but I also decided to leave Parkinson. It was causing me too much problems ultimately, and I didn't trust her too much for the mountains of Ecuador.

So here I am now, in Loja, South of Ecuador. For the 1st time in one year, I m travelling without my bike. I m gonna stay some days here, and then up to the North : Cuenca, Quito, and then Colombia, where I'll stay for a while to buy a new bike...

Some news guys !!

After my last adventure in Piura desert, I decided I didn't want to risk more with my aging motorbike, and I left it in Sullana, last city before the Ecuatorian boarder.
But I was feeling really bored to travel in bus, so I really wanted to buy a new bike rapidly...

And here we are !

It's my new bike , I bought it with the money my editor gave me to write a book (double brag ahhaha)

So I'm waiting for the matriculation right now and then... To Vegas !!

Any idea about the name of my brand new chinese girlfriend?

News !

Last days have been good and bad at the same time... I'm currently in the worse badrun of the whole trip. Or maybe it's just me playing bad? I don't know, i lost so much confidence that I don't even know if I'm a good player anymore.
After Bolivia, Ecuador was my 2nd negative country. I played a bit there, mostly live NL100/200 underground tables (as poker is forbidden there) and well, that was bad...

At the same time, I'm having quiet a good time away from tables. As u know I bought my bike with the money they gave me to write a book and went straight to Colombia.

First step in Cali, world capital of salsa. Danced a bit, watched some World Cup games. This country is really crazy about football, and everytime they play a match, they all wear the national shirt, take out the flags, and at every victory, they all go outside and it's like national party ! Really passionate people

Whats funny is that the day after the first victory, Santos, Colombian president was reelected, and nobody was giving a shit. They were all just resting from last day's party. Funny.

I then went to Pereira to play a tournament for the Colombia Poker Tour. Total failure... I was eliminated at day 1, and actually was surprised to find a quiet tough table.

I went the same day on a NL500 cash game. I'm not supposed to play this high, as I'm rolled for NL200, but the table was so fishy I decided to sit. That was a total disaster. Got 2 setups bottom 2 vs middle 2 and bottom full vs top full and lost 250 bb...

Really bad day...

And well, now I just arrived in Medellin. I'm planning to stay one month here to rest a bit, write, get back to my A game, play NL200 live here and well, they say that the girls here are the most beautiful in whole Colombia, let's have a look at this...

Are there any 2+2 guys playing here in Medellin? Would be glad to share some beer together ! See ya!

Well, that was the most dangerous place where I ve been in the whole trip, I hope not to land in a another one like this in the future

Every poker player will say u the same. In poker world, there are 2 ways to reach the top of the mountain, winning an international tournament, or get a sponsor.
