Hit 55 this year.
I fought the transition valiantly but now realize I'm truely into the old fart / old fogey stage of my life.

omfg, I didnt now there are so many old guys here, though there are only <25-26
I have one serious question for those 55+, not trolling, arent you guys afraid you're going to die soon? I swear, I dont want to sound bad or to make fun or something like this. I'm really curious, if I was soooo old I wont even think about poker and I'll be terrified from death. I though all the guys in that age, the only thing they do is to pee in their pants and think about the death, never for poker.

Personally don't worry about dying soon. More worried about running out of money before I die.
In many ways I'm ok with being at the stage of life I am at.
As I got older, I found I no longer give much of a stuff what anyone thinks anymore. At the same time, I try to avoid getting into confrontations about the boring stuff in the world I cannot change. Such as politics, religion, etc
And as for peeing in my pants, I'm a hoping I'll avoid that for another 10 to 20 years.

My uncle was 102 when he died so it is possible that I have 44 years left.
Life looks a bit different now. I have pretty much tried everything. Been here, been there, done that. I have children and grandchildren and its all great. I propably never will have to worry about money in my life.
The only thing that worries me is the wellbeing of my loved ones. My own death is nothing to worry about. It comes when it comes.
You guys are amazing! Thanks a ton for sharing. I only can hope to feel the same way when I become at your age. To have children, reasonable life, been here and there, try this and those.
I have one more qustion. If you are, lets say, in your 20's again, would you change anything? I mean some decision you took, will you change it and take another one? Go in this uni or another one? Take this job or try another one? Marry this woman or try to find another one? Push harder in career or have more free time with your family? Dunno

As the oldest known PokerStrategist (so far), I find this a curious question. I hadn't really given it any thought before.
But no, I'm not worried about dying. Worrying won't prevent it anyway.
I'm not exactly all that eager to go, but I've had a great life, and would leave with no regrets pretty much any time.

I would:
a) start meditating
b) stop drinking alcohol
c) supplement the meditation with intermittent LSD
The problem with changing something if I could go back there would be that I would be a different person now. What decisions I made then, for good or for bad, made me what I am today.
Also, if I change a decision made then, there is a very high probability I wouldn't have met mrsgadget who is my reason for living and my pride and source of joy every hour of every day.
So no, I don't want to be 20 again and change something, because I like me now, I didn't like me then and neither did anyone else, including my family.
