As a HUNL player i would like to know your opinion on the Expert HUNL HE books.

Thanks in advance :)

hey willy

it's a good book. Read it :)
The advice offered isn't as practical as Applications of NLHE but the fundamental concepts taught in this made me think more about changing my frequencies in quite a number of spots

Btw now I'm trying to use a low Cbet strategy of 50% and I find that it works well, trying to add in a ton of balancing plays to my game including checking back some FDs and gutshots (or checking OOP), which was something I used to rarely do (and when I did that it was random)

yea it's great. Allows you to deal with those annoying turn overbets much more easily.

had a pretty wild day today, after my huge upswing, I lost a ton and then won a lot again.

Tomorrow I'm thinking of land sailing since there's a land sailing park near Central Station. I'm not really an action junkie but I'm usually game for some new activities to try out (singapore is boring as hell). My friend wants to visit the bank which happens to be near Holland Casino so maybe we'll pop by for a few hours

and of course, new video NL10. I try to cater to a wide audience with my youtube videos since my educational material spans across all limits but i wonder if i should start being more niche/targeted.

But why aren't you using a HUD in the video?

I don't have sample and the player pool is so huge so I doubt I can get more than 20 hands on a single opponent. Pretty close to useless and I think most new players should focus on the fundamentals first.

I went there on Sat with my buddy and we played 2/2. I won 500, he lost 240 (i bought 80% of his action cos he was a little scared to play so much and a little inexperienced). I was willing to stake him cos last week on our way back from the Enclosing Dam (1 hour drive away) I gave him a crash course on how to beat the donks.

Then I thought hey, that's probably a decent idea for another video. I guess I seem to be producing too many beginner videos recently, when my core audience is probably playing at nl25-50? Anyway I switched over from camtasia to apowersoft so I'll be producing a couple more vids for sep.

Didn't play a lot today and yesterday, this was because I made 6 vids (3 for the course and 3 for pokerstrategy).

I think the latest 3 are pretty interesting, more CREV videos, with 1 vid per hand, something like the one I did for email subscribers.

Plans for Oct are still up in the air. I might visit Internet in scotland for a short while or maybe stay with him for a month. He's visiting me next week so we'll have to discuss that.

bleh just received this email. My guess is that I lagged out way too often when my HUD overloaded (HM2 is very buggy and unstable at times) or maybe it's because I'm splitting my focus too much on watching streams or shows.

Dear bmlm,

We're writing to inform you that a review of your playing data has indicated that you have been taking significantly longer to act on your hands than is acceptable when you are playing at more than 20 tables at a time.

PokerStars reserves the right to lower the number of ring game tables a player is allowed to sit at simultaneously. Reviews of individual table caps are performed regularly on a monthly basis. This e-mail should be considered a notice that if you do not speed up your average response time during this coming month, your individual table cap may be lowered for the next month.

We are aware that it might take some time to get used to this, but ask you pay attention when playing multiple tables that you are not unwittingly slowing down the tables where you are seated.

We do appreciate that you choose to play at PokerStars and hope for your understanding and cooperation in this matter. Table caps exist to facilitate the most enjoyable poker experience possible in the world’s largest poker room. These caps keep players from playing more tables than they can keep up with and slowing down their opponents’ playing experiences as a result. PokerStars has always had the expressed goal of creating a positive environment for all players, which is why it is necessary to take action when there are issues that are in conflict with these goals.

If you have any questions about this notice or any other matters pertaining to our offerings on PokerStars, you are welcome to send a mail to support@pokerstars.com, and we will make sure to get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you for choosing PokerStars, the world’s largest poker room.

Regards,
PokerStars Poker Room Management

yesterday more news about legislation for online gambling in singapore was released. I think at this point I can't be bothered anymore, I'm pretty much prepared to relocate

internet arrived today in amsterdam so we hung out for a while. I'll probably stay with him for ~3 weeks in oct

Sorry for both news :(

Do you feel like you will miss Singapore?

And yes in my opinion, despite knowing how pro you are, is that no matter how pro you are, watching shows/streams or splitting attention in any other way is NEVER a good thing.
It also makes the game less enjoyable as you engage into autopilot mode a lot more often (which is not fun, for anyone).

Good luck for everything!

@AN: Not really, I dislike being in Singapore cos of the high population density and bad weather

My friend is going to be away for a whole week so I gave myself a challenge to earn 10k VPPs everyday. Right now it's been going pretty well, with me running hot at 1k and running poorly at 500.

Mon: 10400 VPPs
Tue: 11000 VPPs
Wed: 6000 VPPs (gonna play another 2-3 hours)

VPPs earned this year: 511k

I have to average 4600 VPPs a day for the rest of the year. That's a little ahead of my pacing last year (470k).

I'm going to be playing the 5k WCOOP main event with my free ticket from SNE. I'll probably in Scotland by then. Now let me dream of winning the $1 million

Strategy
I'm studying around 1.5-2hrs a day for the past 3 days. More Equilab instead of CREV since CREV is a little too time consuming, solving for more specific spots
I've been experimenting with 2bb minraising in the SB, consider it a hybrid between open limping and 3bb raising. Some strategies do work better against certain players but there are guys who just go apeshit with their defending so the best solution would probably be to tighten up.

Could you cash out the ME ticket if you wanted to? Is it your first mtt of the year?

Please be ambitious, 1 million is usually like 3rd place in the WCOOP main. Go for the 2+ million. :f_biggrin:

I don't think it's possible to cash out. I might have played one or two supernova free rolls or sunday millions, I can't really remember.

gl at main event, this email confused me, thought you play zoom exclusively?

@frankie: What do you mean? Zoom probably makes up 99% of my volume, though I occasionally add regular tables or play MTTs once in a while.

5 Day Report

The challenge was supposed to be a week long, but I decided to cut it short. I made a killing - This was probably the best run in my life during a 5 day period, even hotter than Dec 2013. I averaged 10 hours a day of play with 3-4 hours of analysis in total.

I cannot really continue playing 10hours any longer. My health is suffering a little. I have not been sleeping too well since my curtains aren't too good and I tend to wake up much earlier than I should when the room gets bright. I was mostly cooking healthier food for myself but in the past 2 days I got really lazy and kept ordering deliveries

Typical schedule for me is to wake up at 9 or 10, play 2-3 hours and take a nap in the afternoon, cook dinner at 6 and play for another 7-8 hours between 8pm-4am. Now I just feel like lazing around.

Amount earned: 35 000$ pure profit, 50k VPPs (another 6k value)

My main takeaway from this mini-challenge is that
1. I should mix in 1 or 2 of these days per week in my usual routine (non end of the year rush for SNE)
2. Don't overdo it - No point killing yourself over money

Hello sir!

i wonder do u feel like your brain can manage information better/faster/longer after u finish a week of "massive brain workout" like this when u get relaxing after? i mean do u feel that there is added extra value in developing you brainpower from these long hard grinding days besides the money which again can pay off extra in future?
