[Closed] NL25 TT Okay to call against shorty?

I think it depends on the shorty, how has he been playing up to this point? Some of the guys will shove any A or K, and some shove small pp's. If his pfr is high then it's an obvious call, if he's tight I'd say 10-10 is at the bottom of your range for calling. You have to call 4 to win ~6 so your equity has to be better than 67% to call.

I'm bored so I threw it in the Equilator,

Equity Hand
Player 1: 62.750 % TsTh
Player 2: 37.250 % 22+, A5s+, KTs+, A5o+, KTo+

10-10 is a no to calling against this range for the short stack which represents ~15% of all hands, obviously if their range is tighter you should be too. Here's JJ.

Equity Hand
Player 1: 66.721 % JsJh
Player 2: 33.279 % 22+, A2s+, KTs+, A2o+, KTo+

JJ gets us to 67% which is exactly what we need to call against this range. BTW AKo=63% and AKs=65%. I guess this is why Short Stack Strategy can work so well, they need us to call them with 1010 and big A's so they can win...It looks like fold and wait for a better spot is the best advice. Also this should remind us to never sit to the right of a short stack.

If he is tight then fold is more correct.
If he is unknown then call is fine.

Anywho, I _never_ fold AQ+ and TT+ against shorties, AJ and 99 are close and probably depend on opponent and position (and whether I already have money invested).

after the shove there's $6 (actually $6.35) in the pot, you have to call $4 for that $6

that's kind of why I got into that so far last night. I started out thinking it was call 4 to win 10 and the equity would only need to be 40%. David Sklansky set me straight in his NLH theory book, and the results in the equilator surprised me. TT+ is too loose to call.
