The Coaching Project

week in review
I had a great month in profit. I also improved a lot in adaptions and had great progress in reaching my goals. I took up enaugh time which was great for thinking deeply and avoid tilt. I also had a great villain selection. Private I started with gym and my body feels much better.

learning goal: (1) tilt reduction (2) take up time (3) Villain selection
I was great again in villain selection and avoiding tilt. Just played sometimes too fast (mostly vs fish). All in all Im satisfied. I should sleep longer to be more focused and concentrated. Im sorry for posting no hands in the last days but I dont have any hands which I can post.

learning goal: (1) tilt reduction (2) take up time (3) Villain selection (4) analyse showdowns Im great in villain selection and dont get on tilt since some weeks. I try to take up my time and think deeply. So its time to add another goal. So the goal which will bring me much more money should be to analyse showdowns to get some great reads from villain.

learning goals: (1) tilt reduction (2) plan the hand (3) Villain selection (4) apply thinking proces on 1 table
I thought about my thought process when beeing in the gym. I will change my learning strategy which means that I will focus on 1 table with all thought process and on all other tables I just use the process of planning the hand. When Im able to manage all my thoughs on 1 table I will add a 2nd, 3rd,... table.

Question (Villain was unknown):

I changed again my learning process. I will still have my 3 permanent goals (1) tilt reduction (2) plan the hand (3) take up time and add (4) plan the hand and (5) pay attention to showdowns + Bayes inference. I will use goal (4) when I will play so many tables as I can and goal (5) just on 1 table.

Last week was really thrilling. I run 2000 $ below EV and had a hard fight with tilt. Sometimes I played faster than planned, once 1 cried (Ahhhh) and quit 1 session 1 hour earlier. All in all Im still satfisfied that I stayed calm most of the time. Next week I have to make more visualisationsexercises. I also add 1 goal (plan the hand). I will also use the bayes inference when evaluation villains.

I played heads-up too some time ago, here's my 2 cents: Since this is heads-up, I'd call with any overpair, like you said, plus AQ(TPTK). You could see draws, top pair, middle pair, air or the occasional monster. There are still lots of hands that you beat. Especially since the board is so drawy, I'd be inclined to call here.

Good luck with your goals!

The week was very exhausting. I run about 4000 $ below ev (for this month). I never had such a bad run in poker. The good thing is, that I learn slowly not to get negativ influenced by the results. I was great in achieving my goals and was not on tilt.

I dont run so well on higher limits and get suck out often on the river or run with my 2Pair, Trips in better 2Pair, Trips,... The good thing is that I dont get on tilt, plan the hand, take up my time (sometimes I play too fast) and have a great villain selection. I also added handreading in my thought process which I will mostly use on the river.

(2) What is the weakest 2Pair for calling the river cMR, when river hits straight?

(2) I think we should call w best 2 Pair (QJ+)

The month is finally over. All in all I run 3000 $ below ev. The good thing was that I had the chance to work 3 weeks on my tilt (I got many suck outs every day). It was hard but I learned a lot . I also achieved my other goals like handreading, plan the hand, take up time and villain selection. Next month I try to focus most on handreading and take up time.

On monday I had one day off. I was at the doctor because I had problems with my back. I have to make some gynmastics now. In poker I played well yesterday and followed all my goals.

hand of the day

Question (Villain was unknown):
(1) Would you have barrelt the river?

My thoughts:
(1) I think we should barrel the river. We can make Ax, 6x, maybe some 2 pair fold.

You will have a ton of hands that contain an 8 that Cbet the flop + a few backdoor flush draws + you have no showdown value. I would fire the river

The day before yesterday I played really bad and had a slight tilt. So time for eliminating the leak. Yesterday I played really well and feeled much better. The reason for tilt was that I wanted to try new method on nl50 villain but the rake and villains reaction was not so great for me.

hand of the day (villain was unknown)

PokerStars - €1 NL (2 max) - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BB: €100.88
Hero (SB): €100.17

Hero posts SB €0.50, BB posts BB €1.00

Pre Flop: (pot: €1.50) Hero has 4♠ T♦

Hero raises to €3.00, BB calls €2.00

Flop: (€6.00, 2 players) 4♦ 8♥ 9♥
BB bets €3.00, Hero raises to €9.00, BB calls €6.00

Turn: (€24.00, 2 players) T♠
BB bets €24 , Hero ?

Question (Villain was unknown):
(1) What is your plan on the turn?
(2) When villains bets 24 € on the turn and Hero called, the pot will be 72 € on the river and Hero has just 64 € behind. Would you call the river, when villains shoves and the river is a blank?

My thoughts:
(1) I think we should call.
(2) I think villain will almost never bluff the river. Do I think villain will shove worse made hand? I would guess no and make a tough fold. But its a close decision.

Your thoughts:
(1) .....
(2) .....

Here we have and endgame. What are the moves which help white to get his lady?

Plan is:
- black King should not reach d7,
- white needs position where black King is on e8 and white has available move Ke6.

Rest is trivial. Nastypasty showed longest resistance.

Last week I had problems with my back which influenced my game and hours of play. This week I had some physiotherapy and I feel much better. I do already make some exercises which take about 30 minutes every day. But I feel better every day. The reason for problems with my back is that my legs are different (1 - 2 cm). I also bought a new chair which is very ergonomic.

In Poker I had 1 day where I had some tilt problems. In the end I managed the problem I try to improve every day. I also payed more attention to the calling- and betting frequencies. In chess I improved in tactics.

I spend a lot of time study the book "Poker's 1%: The One Big Secret That Keeps Elite Players On Top". I like the concept very much and will try to use it when I play. Playing poker is math and it tells you what to call and what to fold. That is why I removed hand reading from my goals and will try to focus on betsize and betting-/ callingranges.
