Have to follow this one, I used to love FR. Played up to nl50 with varying results, mostly good thank goodness!

I have another advice I used a lot, AK raise from EP get 3bet from reggish late (CO/BU), just fold. I think the reasoning is obvious but maybe the game has changed since.
It tends to be a similar scenario to the KK hand you mentioned; 'expensive' I think the word is I'm looking for!

Tell that to a 6 max aggrotard!

I'm in for the journey,

Mal.

I think you are correct about folding AK to a 3bet pre-flop after raising from the first 3 positions, Mal. I'm looking at these spots on my own sample and they're not looking too well. The best example I can give you is:

PokerStars - $0.25 NL FAST - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 104.48 BB (VPIP: 27.08, PFR: 20.83, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 48)
SB: 102.72 BB (VPIP: 17.65, PFR: 17.65, 3Bet Preflop: 12.50, Hands: 17)
BB: 152.04 BB (VPIP: 15.23, PFR: 10.60, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 152)
UTG: 128.04 BB (VPIP: 11.04, PFR: 7.26, 3Bet Preflop: 2.72, Hands: 1,254)
UTG+1: 75.24 BB (VPIP: 17.89, PFR: 4.88, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 125)
Hero (MP): 100 BB
MP+1: 101.84 BB (VPIP: 9.56, PFR: 9.20, 3Bet Preflop: 3.62, Hands: 569)
MP+2: 111.52 BB (VPIP: 50.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 2)
CO: 153.8 BB (VPIP: 13.28, PFR: 11.02, 3Bet Preflop: 4.03, Hands: 359)

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has A♣ K♦

fold, fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, fold, MP+2 calls 3 BB, CO raises to 12 BB, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls 9 BB, MP+2 calls 9 BB

Flop: (37.4 BB, 3 players) T♠ A♠ 4♣
Hero checks, MP+2 checks, CO bets 25 BB, Hero raises to 88 BB and is all-in, fold, CO calls 63 BB

Turn: (213.4 BB, 2 players) K♥

River: (213.4 BB, 2 players) K♣

Spoiler

Hero shows A♣ K♦ (Full House, Kings full of Aces) (Pre 7%, Flop 2%, Turn 0%)
CO shows A♦ A♥ (Full House, Aces full of Kings) (Pre 93%, Flop 98%, Turn 100%)
CO wins 205.4 BB

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I strongly incline to believe that you are right. You are usually confronting a range of QQ-AA, AK at the very least in this scenario. You will be out of position with ~40% equity without the advantage of being the lead aggressor. I will add this to the tips list right away, mentioning who it came from.

Yes, it was a hammer to the balls ;(
As a winning player, you rarely expect to have 2% equity when shoving the flop.

I'm making great progress on my flop Cbetting percentage, it currently stands at 60.36% over the last 3K hands. I will mark the objective as complete after 10K more hands of keeping it that way.

Here's a good example related to my flop Cbetting advice on the first page:

Hero (CO): 109.6 BB

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has A♦ J♣

fold, fold, fold, fold, MP+2 raises to 3 BB, Hero raises to 10.4 BB, fold, fold, fold, MP+2 calls 7.4 BB

Flop: (22.2 BB, 2 players) 5♥ J♦ J♠
MP+2 checks, Hero checks

Turn: (22.2 BB, 2 players) T♥
MP+2 bets 10.6 BB, Hero raises to 30.4 BB, MP+2 raises to 92.88 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 62.48 BB

River: (207.96 BB, 2 players) 9♥

Spoiler

MP+2 shows 9♣ T♣ (Two Pair, Jacks and Tens) (Pre 40%, Flop 5%, Turn 0%)
Hero shows A♦ J♣ (Three of a Kind, Jacks) (Pre 60%, Flop 95%, Turn 100%)
Hero wins 199.96 BB

If I had Cbet the flop, I would have missed 93 big blinds of value in this hand.

If one of the J was a heart, would you cbet it?

I would still not bet the flop if a J was a heart. For my opponent to have a flush draw here, he would have to:
a. have suited hole cards;
b. his cards to be the same suit as the board.
These elements combined give him less than a 10% chance to have a flush draw here, so his probability of calling a Cbet doesn't increase by much.

I should have bet the turn and river bigger, like 80%-85%. It should be big enough to extract value, while small enough not to scare away top pair or AQ/QT/Q9 from an unknown (except for the river with the Q hands, but he wouldn't call the river with that anyway).

He had suspiciously high AFq 74%, AF 3.5 over 54 hands. That's pretty damn aggressive for a 28/14 guy, even on this small sample size. I like my play here. _grin:
