Our very own Galvin 'mbml' Bay has released three books - The Art of Poker series. There is a beginner, intermediate and advanced version of this book.

He has very kindly agreed to give five of them away to members of our community. All you have to do is post him a poker question in this thread, which he will be visiting and answering on soon. He will award the best five questions a copy of his new book.

Get your questions in before October 27 to have a chance at winning.

What's the one HM2 stat that you use that others don't or what stat do you use differently from other players?

Congrats on releasing the book!

If you had to give a player who is new to poker one piece of advice, what would it be?

Imagine you are obsessed with poker (not sure if it's addiction already), you are in lust to play and it makes you happy and satisfied no matter of the results. How to make the best use of that state? Just let it go as long as it keeps pushing you to the success or keep it in check - make a daily schedule for playing and learning and stick to it rigidly?

Why do you think most of the players get stuck on a stake and can't pass through it? At micros, small or medium stakes?

There are a lot of poker books out there already. How are your books different from the rest?

Do you account for different starting hand quality models (which cards are their top 10, 20, 30%) of different opponents, when evaluating vp$ip and pfr to construct an opening range? And if so, how?
The only approach I could think of is to maybe figure out the set mining preference, if I had a lot of data on an opponent, but beyond that I'm drawing blank.

The problem is I know there is things I need to know but getting my poker study in order, knowing what to study and dedication seems to be my issue. Working on hands and reviewing sessions is obvious but what else can I do to further my game, also how can I gauge where my game is , the pokerstrategy.com quizzes aside.

For you was there a defining moment where you went from standard type poker player (learning, discussing hands) to that of a professional, or was it just something that happened as a natural progression of your career?
