Looks like the spin & goes might be a quite a controversial move by PokerStars - the analysis of the format by a long-time successful sit & go professional leads him into launching a petition against the format, seems like plenty of players are following his lead.

I get the point there and I agree - no one doubts that Spin & Gos are in the long run as or maybe even more profitable than any other format - the problem lies within the fact that in Spin & Gos you could easily be unbelievably more off the expected winrate than in any other previous poker format, can't imagine playing those for a living.

Hi, Scarmaker,

As you can see, I've edited your post, as it links to another training site which contravenes some of our forum principles.

Thanks for understanding

Thanks - have participated in a huge number of these and it's really unbelievable to have netted one just like this.

Congrats! Actually, you were lucky to get that $1500 in cash. The upcoming shootouts have ticket bundle prizes instead of money... so I'm looking forward to a sweet session at the 30s tomorrow after 14:00 ET _evil:

Yeah just realised they changed the new ones... could it be that they saw my post here? Or after they realised I insta cashed it out? PS eyes are everywhere! _frown:

Their decision didn't depend on yours - the whole schedule of the promotion has been known from day one. Actually, only the two shootouts for non-Spingo-related tasks (the ones to be completed yesterday and tomorrow) will award Spingo ticket bundles, my bad; the rest will award cash :f_frown: Enjoy it!

Would be slightly awkward to have 1500x $1. I guess it at least would let the variance even out a bit.

Uh, I'm sure this is a dumb question, but how do I use a spin&go ticket bundle? I got a $21 bundle in the shootout and I can see it among my tournament tickets, but I can still only buy into the spin&gos with cash.

Probably clicking the 'Go There' button in the tourney ticket section and then clicking 'Register' in the Spin & Go lobby that opens will do the trick... otherwise complain to the support, it must be a bug.

Now I understand why there were no changes in the quality of the $30 pool just after the shootout

Yeah that doesn't work, there's nothing in the 'go there' window. So it must be a bug I guess, will contact support. Thanks!

That's a good idea, ffff7, I'm sure they'll be able to sort this out for you :)

I also had some errors trying to play the Spins on my tablet with the tickets, in the end it did register with tickets although it said I couldn't, so go figure.

About 90BIs under EV after about 600-700 tournaments lol, not for the faint of heart xD

I'm showing ChipEV since $EV doesn't account for the variance in prize pools...

To avoid writing many times on what I think about Spin & Gos, I've posted a long rant in my blog as a source of reference.

Well written, tonypmm -- thanks for that!

Everyone playing these should read that "rant"
