Hero (BTN): 132.86 BB

BB: 26.45 BB (VPIP: 26.13, PFR: 22.70, 3Bet Preflop: 11.25, Hands: 7,226)

CO: 106.19 BB (VPIP: 23.54, PFR: 18.86, 3Bet Preflop: 6.28, Hands: 4,234)

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A♣ T♣

fold, fold, CO raises to 2 BB, Hero calls 2 BB, fold, fold

Flop: (5.5 BB, 2 players) 4♦ 8♥ T♠
CO bets 3 BB, Hero calls 3 BB

Turn: (11.5 BB, 2 players) K♥
CO bets 8.19 BB, Hero raises to 16.38 BB, fold

Spoiler

Hero wins 34.68 BB

reg, has reasonable frequencies up to river, on river bluffed only 2/22 times.

so since he likely bets J9, 56s, 67s, JQ, AJ, AQ and super likely gives up river, then I min raise to protect vs all those draws which anyway give up on river?

Hey GingerKid,

Preflop call is fine, I usually 3b here.

Flop call is fine.

Turn call is probably standard option. I like raising also, I think it's pretty strong although I imagine we have less then 50% equity vs his continuing range. Still enough equity that we can feel comfortable checking back brick rivers.

Nice hand.

Would you also like it for 5 or even 10bb bigger raisesize?

It's an interesting line. Assuming your read is accurate, I think it's ok in a vacuum.

But, if you're read is even just a little off, than I think he would have to be also making some mistakes dealing with the turn raise for it to be a better option than simply calling.
It's not that hard for villain to make minimal mistakes with this turn raise imo.

I'd prefer to make the raise a little larger and raise with a hand such as 7:c8:c where we are at a > risk of being outdrawn and have a more marginal calldown.

I would actually prefer bigger raise size. If reg is thinking, why would I min raise turn on draw heavy board. He should still call with his at least good draws vs bigger raise in which case we have value raise vs draws. He might fold even his pairs (if he is unknown or thinks we are value heavy in this spot). But main idea why I did raise actually is because I get to see free and hopefully cheaper showdown.

yes with 7c8c we need more protection, it is probably a more suitable hand (who knows), but still it doesnt mean that raise AcTc isnt max EV play if there is more suitable hand.

How do you define not making mistake or playing correctly vs turn raise? If villian would play theretically correct, he should defend 1-a vs raise. That means that he is likely calling some draws which are weaker than our hand, and some better hands, maybe even 3betting some. But it also means that we will have enough FE such that bluff would be indifferent, so probably having SD value here would be +EV raise vs 1-a defending villian. The question is if call with AcTc is +EV on turn, and if it is, is it higher EV than raise.
