Yeah, great results so far keep it up!
I take it HUD is helping you out ? ♦
I like to think I,am a honest kinda guy so here goes,
The HUD has opened my eyes to how different I used to play 2 weeks ago to how I play at the present, I 100% know it has evolved me as a player far greater than I expected, I see the mistakes I used to make on a larger scale know, and I feel confident in making certain plays I normally wouldn't do, I still have a basic HUD set up but for the moment, and it will stay that way till i feel 100% comfortable with the set up i have, then i shall add stat by stat as i go along.
But on the toher hand i,am not getting carried away with my results, i no its a very small sample in the larger scheme of things so i shant say 100% that i use a HUD correctly just YET. ♦
a early 3rd week update.
I think the good thing about this post is it goes against the nature of my blog so far, confused?
Well I,am confused, it goes without saying that every blog shoudnt be a happy * I,am winning blog*, so as you have probably gathered this is the d/dwing side of the game, id like to state a few facts 1st.
1) I do not suffer from tilt
2) I,am comfortable with how I have played in this stretch
3) My mindset isn't 100% after this mini swing, but its not enough to effect me.
So yes this has been a pretty horrendous week in my poker journey, its a learning curve we all have to do at some point, I think the most important aspect of this is, shyte really does happen, when the cards don't favour you in such a run coupled by bad players etc, what is one to do? Theres nothing you can do other than except it for what it is, dust yourself down, have a slight moan to your poker buddies, and get the fuck on with it, this wont beat me, I,am to determined to succeed.
Untill next week, run good.

Ouch! I am impressed by your level headedness though.
I would offer some helpful words but I know nothing and less about SnGs but wish you all the best in your challenge.
Have a motivational quote to aid you on your path (though it appears you already have the frustration levels under control) -
' Worrying today about what happened yesterday won't help you build tomorrow.'
Very nice quote MasochisticDesire, its frustrating after the hard work, but as your quote says, theres no point in worrying about things that we arnt in control of, and theres always another day to try and do our best.
Thx for the kind words of encouragement
Standard thing in life of any SNG grinder.
I am actually happy that you experienced some form of downswing now on micro limits. These type of things will either make or brake you. I know so many people that don't have a clue how brutal variance can be and have very unrealistic expectations with their results. This brings up huge entitlement tilt in them and eventually they go crazy and burn out + quit poker because of such approach.
My advices for these types of DS stretches are:
- Keep calm, focus on playing your regular game (don't let bad run affect your decisions/game plan)
- Work on your game even more to check if more leaks are appearing (maybe your autopilot has gone to C-,D+ game which looses you money long run???)
- Work on both bottom and top of your game (bottom of the game fixes your autopiloting, top of the game allows you to grow your skill even more so your autopiloting improves overall!)
- Remember that as you lost 20-30-50-100 buy ins in short stretch of the game due to variance and "some" bad plays, the same thing can be opposite when you get into upswing (win 20-30-50-100 buy ins)
- Embrace downswing, accept it as variance and standard way any professional poker player has to live with!
- Always remember that variance could be even more brutal and that as you move up limits you will run into better players = less edges vs them = lesser ROI pre RB = even more variance in the long run!
Welcome to the world of poker pros!
I agree with everything you have stated ivic.
I also agree that I,am definatly in the group of players that didn't have a clue to the brutal variance in this type of format, its been a experience wich I now will stand me in good stead for future endeavours.
Yes ste (bossman) my work for the end of the month is to achieve another landmark, I need 1200 points for gold status, so my task is to complete 1200 odd games in a 7 day period, hope that quenches your thirst for this big baby
No one is immune from downswings! I still have 100% confidence in your ability (which seems to have improved with the HUD), and I'm not worried one bit about my investment because I know that you will keep improving, and even if you finish the challenge in the negative none of the stakers will care because we'll all know that this is a learning experience for you, and as long as you've improved your game from when you first started, it's a +EV situation for you and for future investers. Great work so far mate!
Cheers matt,
Every journey in poker is one long learning curve, although testing times can have some affect I think it can only be a good building block for the future.
Thx shane
Mushy stuff you big girls, get to work
( I off course agree 100% with all the mush XX )
