Ok, this hand left me a little frustrated. Can I improve my play? Pre, I think the squeeze should be fine, especially considering the late position minraises. The flop looks nice and I want to charge draws. Actually, the turn seemed very innocuous, too, so I felt I could apply the same rationale. Maybe the sizing is a little too big? It might even chase away worse jacks.

The river heart is not very welcome, but is check-fold exploitable? Or should I have checked the turn to pot control and check-call the river? Maybe even call river as played?

Hey Briccius,

Preflop sueeze is good here.

Flop for value is good.

Turn is fine. The board is not as dangerous as it looks however. We can think about a) betting smaller or b) checking the turn to pick off bluffs.

As played river x/f is fine. Villain will generally check behind worse made hands on the rivered heart and he doesn't have a huge amount of potential bluff combos in his range on this card either.

By checking the turn, aren't we giving a free card to villain's draws?
If you check and he checks behind, will you call any bet on river even if it completes FD/SD ?

@Manca:

well I guess if we call the river depends on the size. If it completes the flush folding to big bets seems ok, less so if it completes the straight, but maybe still folding on a 4 or nine if he bombs it. Actually I think we should sometimes call as well, though, because otherwise it just seems too weak. So this seems to be a tricky spot.

If he bets turn we should call to pick off bluffs/semi-bluffs and reevaluate the river, basically calling all reasonable bets except when the draws get there.

At any rate, I actually prefer the line I took.
