Really set about my tasks with professional attitude. I think I found another level somehow last couple of days. I sure am tired out but its pretty addictive and its gonna be more than worth it!

Back to being a forum whore. I want to be able to look at hands much quicker and see wth is going on. It takes me ages to work things out still so to improve it I am just going to spend every minute that my brain can handle reading HH's. We had some coaching with Gordon today and it just was sick how fast he reads what is going on in a hand. I haven't even registered pre-flop action and he has worked out river ranges. He reads hands better than I read english!!

Made myself some targets of amount of hands to read and evaluate etc.

Lost again today a little but EV was positive. Lost AK v 32 all in pre (he called too). Standard but funny.

Woo woo!!! Internet issue will be resolved within 24 hours! Have not played few days now so cannot wait!!!
Been studying cbetting last few days. Learned loads, I have always been poor at cbetting. Too much checking back and protecting ranges and all that BS. It has been quite interesting for me to have a few AHA moments studying this stuff. Pretty sure its not been a terrible thing not being able to play as I have had to use my brain to think things through rather than seeking opinions and taking them as gospel.
I am hoping now to play next few days then make a video for coach to comment where I just replay cbet opportunity hands and talk about the closer spots.
I am not exaggerating to say I think my winrate is going to improve over 20bb/100 here quite easily (of course cannot see this short term but you get me ).

So, hopefully tomorrow we will have proper update of session profit/loss etc and will be back setting normal daily targets....

I feel younger every day

Great day today, caught up lots of playing time these last two days (19.7 hours) and managed to post hands, comment, evaluate etc too!

Feels like I am running well at the tables but I am sure that some of it is just because I feel so much more comfortable with my cbetting. I haven't had much time with this "cbetting more" but it just feels so much easier to play this way rather than XB and play guessing games all of the time. I have always had nitty tendencies too (they don't bluff right?) so I think not only was I checking back too often but was then folding to pressure. Hopefully I am seeing the bigger picture now anyway and I think my overall hand reading is starting to improve (at last!!!).

Got very disappointed with myself for exceeding my stop loss. No excuses its just bad and unprofessional, it is there for a reason and I need to stick to it. I have thought of way to make sure I don't miss it again.

Coach looked over the 20bb plus pots and they were all WP so that is comforting and I do feel I played well but if I had stopped on time I would have lost less and would also have proved my discipline. I hope this won't happen again.

Long time no see! Will give quick update of Christmas period then reflect and project...

Been active at the tables and in the forum but took slight break from blogging over Christmas just to get that extra 30 minutes with my kids! If you don't have any of these yet then you've just about got time to make some for next Christmas!!!

My game has improved a lot over Christmas (still bad obv) but I have lost at the tables. I ran badly over this period. All-in spots, bad run outs like this

you name it. All part of the game and does not bother me. All I know is that my thought process is improving all of the time. My replies in hand histories are getting nearer to the replies of the better players and the coaches (this is my favoured way of measuring progress btw).

Some figures for last 11 days...

Was "playing" = 55.5 hours (includes waiting)

Profit/loss = -$115 (includes some RB from previous obv)

As you can see I have run 7 buy-ins under EV which is totally standard but is also slightly comforting ;). Also I have been value betting hard against fish into the nuts like this...

but that will turn around. I feel like I could have won at a decent win-rate over this period so I am very hopeful for the future and am very happy with my improvement rate.

Overall I am really happy with my progress at CFP so far. Bearing in mind I had never played HUNL Cash before I am pleased that I have been able to stay at NL50 without dropping down (I started on bottom limit for playing so I thought dropping down would happen quite quickly).

The difference in my thought process is pretty amazing to me. I can't believe how way off I was with my study and learning before. I was going to say here that my advice is to get coaching if only to get better direction in what to study. But I actually think that its really important now to find the right coach and type of coaching for you. I cannot recommend BPC highly enough but not many people seem to listen to me when I say that! Maybe this time next year when I am making $10k+ each month :).

I will try to work a little bit harder but I am happy with my overall work rate.

I will always look for ways to be more efficient and more effective with my learning and as always will listen to all advice.

I will be making $10k months. But that is not a goal, its just a question of when it happens.
