BTN 89s vs CO steal

Calling preflop is fine.

It's very difficult to profitable x/c this type of hand on the flop. Yet we don't want to check/fold because our hand clearly has some potential. So in general it's a good spot to be donk-betting the flop in a multi-way situation.

Turn raise is likely ok, but we look so strong with this line that the sizing doesn't need to be big. It really sucks when CO decides to 3b. He can easily have QK. I would assume he has enough worse hands in his range that we can call turn and call river, but there is a reasonable chance we are behind his range and only calling for pot-odds.

In this spot I'm on the button though, I can't donk bet, but I see your point.

A raise size of around 0.9 on the turn is more ok ? I don't want to be giving odds for calling to hit the flush.

Yeah sorry about this mis-read. This is a great spot to bet in position. Very profitable. It looks extremely strong + we can get away with a small sizing.

Actually I'm not saying there is anything wrong with your turn-sizing, I don't think it's overly large. It was just a general comment. We could get away with reducing the sizing slightly but there is not a huge amount in it.

Also just a general note, there is nothing wrong with given people the odds to call with their draws, this is a common misconception. It's actually better to give them the odds and them call then have them fold in most cases since we extract value. Assuming they would call a large bet without the odds, that's when we don't want to give them the odds because we'd be missing value.
