Yeah, you're right. I will be more carefully with this type of spots. This is why I try to post hands, to learn from them.
Thanks for your answers vonki and imfar.

LE: I'm still a noob in this game. I only played 60k hands.

Well, you're doing a great job. :) By posting hands, and trying to learn from other players. I'm only trying to help, sorry if it sounded harsch or something. ;)

As a general rule, vs aggressive players (esp if you are rather new to the game) the best strategy is to just tighten up a bit and play for value. If you try to play speculative hands, without knowing HOW to turn them into a +EV spot, you're going to end up spewing away money for no good reason. There are plenty of less aggressive players to take advantage of.

I would recommend you watch weazels walkthrough series in the video section, you can learn a ton from that series I would say. :)

P.S I would also recommend posting your hands maybe BOTH in hand forums and on your blog, that way you get different views on them and you're also gauranteed that a handjudge (whos one of the PS workers - an experienced player) will evaluate your hand for you!

Hmmm _rolleyes: :f_rolleyes: I have to think it over but vonki you might be right. But what if you had AXs, PP in this spot? Would you like more players in the pot?

I don't flat Axs vs people, no matter who they are. Unless they have very expoilative tendencies (although I want proof of that first - notes or stats). But then again, Axs also has alot of reversed implied odds, where if they call they have a better Ax often, so prefer other type of hands like T8s where we're not dominated as often. I use them to 3b if they're folding alot to cb. To keep the story short, the only time I actually want more players to enter the pot is if I have a pocketpair with which I intend to setmine. ;) No matter what hand we have, the more is not the merrier in poker. Multiway pots also often slow down the action because people won't bluff as much, will potcontrol more, and our hand always has less equity the more people we face going to the flop. This is why we always want to ISOLATE fish for example. Multiway pots also get way trickier to play in general, ESPECIALLY when we're not on the button. :)

Look at this spot aswell for example, this a bit unusual scenario but I'm just trying to show you that even hands that we consider MONSTERS, don't really fair so well in multiway pots.

MP2 56.92% 56.80% 0.12% KK
MP3 18.46% 18.34% 0.12% TT
CO 24.63% 24.51% 0.12% AQs, AQo

What is the difference between T8s and T9s in this spot ?
Sure, versul a type of oponents I prefer to 3B rather than calling. To generalize, what's your cold calling range vs a loose agressive UTG opener with no specific postflop reads and unknown players left to act ?

you can and should flat all AXs BUvs CO and BvB, BB v BU. 3bet A2s-A5s CO v UTG is part of a lot of solid ranges I've seen.

T9s should be a call here vs a bad player without v. active squeezers behind you, unless you are not very comfortable postflop yet. but how are you supposed to learn right :)
always look at raise first in % for UTG the higher it is from around 14-16% the more you can widen your flatting and 3betting ranges.

It's a default flat vs regs too for me, and I'm making money with the hand, you need to realize around 100% equity which shouldn't be too hard IP.

Hope that you had a great Christmas.

Thanks for the feedback guys. For now I will stick with the preflop gameplan that I have.
I haven't play that much from the last time I posted, but I started studying W34z3ls Walkthrough series. I am at the first video, trying to apply what he says about balancing only when it is necessary. I studied only haft of the first video for now. Will go over the rest when I will be confident with my balancing vs types of oponents.

Good luck. I will be watching (here too :P ) your progress. If you need help with English, don't hesitate to ask me. I will gladly help you. There are days when I use English more than Romanian so I think I know a few words in this language.

SB: $7.01 (140.2 bb)
BB: $2.22 (44.4 bb)
UTG: $9.08 (181.6 bb)
MP: $6.43 (128.6 bb)
Hero (CO): $5 (100 bb)
BTN: $5 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A Q
UTG raises to $0.15, MP folds, Hero calls $0.15, BTN raises to $0.45, 2 folds, UTG calls $0.30, Hero calls $0.30

Flop: ($1.42) 5 3 Q (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks, BTN bets $0.70, UTG calls $0.70, Hero calls $0.70

Turn: ($3.52) K (3 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks, BTN bets $2.50, UTG folds, ??????

What do you think about this hand ?
Preflop I misplayed the hand I guess because UTG is a fish and I have to 3B him in order to play with him heads up postflop, especially when BTN is a reg that has a 10.9 3B in 124 hands. As played I guess I have to call the 3B when the fish calls as well.
On the flop would you have raise ?
What about the turn ? BTN I think is commited with that bet and I guess I have to fold. He does not seem to be afraid of the flush with that size of a bet, maybe he has one.

I agree, with AQ I'd have re-raised to $0.45

Yes 1 on 1 is better than everyone having a go, it can get messy and confusing.

@hardlife66: I'm trying to be more careful in preflop situations, still do mistakes preflop.
@Zanardi1: Oo, i didn't know, but you can still point to me the mistakes.

I think my game was good today. I was much more agressive and sometimes I was paid with much more weak hands than I expected.
Like this hand:

Spoiler

Vs unknown regular. Usualy, I am not a very agressive guy postflop, I have an image of a passive player, that is why I don't understand his play. O, well, nice hand.

Maybe this is because at NL5 nobody cares about table image :)
