I would check behind on the turn and evaluate the river. again without stats on him (besides the 100% fold3b) it's hard to say. I assume he would've raised AK,AQ,AA,KK preflop so I'm sure you are ahead most of the time, but he won't be weak since it's the first 3bet he called. could be TT,JJ!? I think if you check behind you induce a bluff from weaker hands on the river, and even if he really has you crushed save a lot of money compared to a 2nd barrel here and then perhaps a check/raise from him on the river...
Definatly bet turn, river action depands on card obv, on A, any flush completing card, J, chech back, on total brick like 2,6,3,4,5,7 might be small value bet, Q obv value bet.
I would bet the turn as played & check back most rivers.
But I would probably just call pre as long as BU isn't aggro
thanks for the responses everyone!
i think for me in the given hand i should be betting turn and checking back pretty much all rivers.
think its better for me to bet turn when i still have bluffs in my range rather than on river (where there would seemingly be very few or no bluffs for me). betting turn to get value from fds/AJ etc especially since i don't block any hearts.
have had a poor start to the new year
luckily was able to ship a hyper tournament for $115 so that stems the tide a bit.
party weekend so no poker for a few days. back at it monday
this month has been pretty poor so far. volume has been ok, up a marginal amount. too much of the following happening ![]()

yay! had a pretty great 2700 hands today. around +7.5 BI. For the most part played really well (still a couple of spew spots though).
second short session (500 hands) i was able to catch my ev line for the month
had KK > AA aipf twice and spiked ![]()
this hand was pretty interesting...
vs turn check/raise i was really hating life, thought only hand that takes this line is QThh. wanted very much to fold or call and call blank rivers but villain was a 1 table rec player so i shipped it. woops:f_wink:

Hi,

I am currently playin on nl10 and next month will shoot nl20 will see how it goes.
lolwhat?
9♠:5♠: can make a flush so standard 3b/call 4b pre. On a A4x flop it has a backdoor gutshot straight draw, a straight is a pretty good hand so I think the donk overshove on the flop is a great creative play because it also maximises his fold equity.

wow, when you put it like that, i didn't realize how brilliant villain's play actually was. i am nowhere near that level of thinking so it looks like there is no hope for me in today's games then
played so poorly today
was gifted a bunch of stacks and having a really good session, but then one really poor bet/call river made me light an extra 1.5 BI on fire.
really need to work on my mental game in that regard. i think once i lose a big pot i will sit out for 5 mins. hopefully this will work.

Tbh I probably wouldn't fold river given the odds with AA. Maybe cbet flop bigger because he seems fishy, but other than that I think its ok. He could show up with worse often enough I think. Rec players do some wierd stuff. Unless he's super nitty

Yeah i should be cbetting flop bigger there. During the hand I had the exact same thoughts as you and in hindsight it doesn't seem that poorly played.
Another great day at the tables!
Was at a personal all time best day but then lost with 91 and 81% equities
Not complaining though as I did some solid suckouts earlier in the session.
