Poker Stars, $10 Buy-in (400/800 blinds, 80 ante) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 9 Players

did I over think this one and level myself into a tight fold?
(new table, so no stats or reads - villain is repping a strong range here I think, as my open and the flat were from EP/MP1)

we need about 40% to call, which we have vs about an 8% 3B range, so I think I made a rick here - thoughts please

Hero (UTG+2): 17,855 (22.3 bb)
MP1: 23,660 (29.6 bb)
BTN: 13,100 (16.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with 8 8
UTG+1 folds, Hero raises to 1,600, MP1 calls 1,600, 3 folds, BTN raises to 13,008, 4 folds

Results:

Spoiler

6,720 pot
BTN mucked and won 6,720 (5,040 net)

Hey!

Depending on his stats I think its pretty close. mp1 can also call better pockets easily against our utgraise!
+ bu shoves against utgraiser... I think i'm just folding here! 99+ aq+ would be my range!
