RaucheCH posted the hand for the pros here to critique. If you are interested this is where to find it and what the pros said about my play of this hand.

If you don't have time to read it this is basically what they said;
1-They hate my pre-flop limp. I think they are wrong and would love to get into a debate with them about that at some point as there are times when limping is correct. I believe this was on of those times.
2-They love my shove on the turn. The reasons they give differ slightly from the reasons I gave but the shove was 100% correct.
Since the discussion was about my turn play I will take this as a win.

I was seriously thinking of trying for the stars no-deposit bonus but that idea quickly went out the window as I like everyone else can not stay connected to the tables when multi-tabling. When you get timed out there is no way to come back to the table without closing/leaving the game and then going back on the waiting list.
So much for that. I needed 3,100 VPPs for a $77.50 bonus but the way it is there is no way to clear that many points without muli-tabling and with the connection issues that is not possible.
NO Omaha Hi-LO MTT for me in the morning as I have to go to the monthly B.S. meeting at work.
7am-8:30am-is a company paid breakfast at Coras where everyone chews the fat about their kids, grandbabies, etc., etc.
8:30am-10:30am-is the state of the union. This is where the B.S. really starts to fly. The boss is always saying we are $10 away from closing the doors. It gets tiresome to hear it every meeting when you know he is being untruthful.
10:30-12:30pm -the accident review committee meets, of which I am a member, to go over the driver fuck ups and take away their yearly bonus of $1,500 if they are found to be at fault in any one of the following actions;
I hate voting to take away a guys bonus as we get our yearly bonus in February when money is needed most for all those left over Christmas bills. The bonus is taken away for such things as;
1-At fault accidents-
2-Any tickets or warnings. Road and log book infractions included. Basically anything that goes against the company's CVOR. There are extenuating circumstances of course
3-Any cargo claims
4-Customer complaints for attitude.
For all this aggravation I am paid the grand sum of $100 cash. The only reason I do it is to try and be the voice of reason for the drivers so they don't get screwed out of their bonus. I try to find the extenuating circumstances so they are found to be NOT AT FAULT and not at fault means they keep their bonus no matter how much damaged was caused.
Also there are a couple of guys that go that I genuinely like and enjoy catching up with them over a company paid breakfast.

Given the choice, I would choose to have my boss lie to me for another 3 years 'til I can retire.

I have 4.5 years to go until I retire.

OMG yeah miss him too...

I received a compensation package today from stars over the disconnect issues.
They gave me $2.65. What a f-n joke.
I figure I am out around $50 from all the disconnect issues.
I am not pleased.
Maybe I should go after pokertracker4 for the balance as it was their software that caused the problems.
What I will probably do is nothing and be a big boy about it and just suck-it-up and carry on.

Limit Omaha Hi-Lo is a goofy F-N game and I keep getting my ass handed to me. I keep playing it because it is easier to get VPPs playing low limit-limit then it is playing low limit-NL.
I decided I wanted the $77 stars free-be for getting 3100 Vpps .
That averages out to 100 a day. Playing low limit takes forever. All I've done is play poker last weekend and this weekend and after 10 days since my clock started I have 1,200 points. I don't know if I can keep up this pace as I don't have time to do anything else.
DAM YOU stars for dangling $77 under my nose.

When I was a kid I would wake up early on Saturday mornings to watch these guys in action.
In my opinion they were and still are the best comedians to ever come out of vaudeville back in the early days of Hollywood.
My sarcastic humour is patterned after these great comedians. I have all 13 of their movies on DVD and anytime life gets me down I will watch a movie or 2 until I feel I can handle life's grind again. Gone but never forgotten.

I was dangled $42.00 but I'm just playing my normal pace.
I figured that to make it, I would need to play NL 25 for some 5K hands, or FL $1/$2 for about the same.
In both circumstances my historical winrate puts me at a loss.

I got dangled something similar for 2000 VPPs. I played 1K hands of Zoom NL25, worked out that I'd need to play another 15K hands in a month and couldn't be arsed.

I hear ya. If I had sat down and figured out how much playing time was needed to complete this I doubt I would have tried. I am going to play this week and see if I can get to 2,000 points. If I can then I will try to finish as I will have 2 weeks to get he last 1,100. If I don't get to 2,000 points then I will probably quit as it is taking up a lot of time that would be better off spent sleeping. I work 12 hour days + travel time, etc., etc., which doesn't leave a heck of a lot of time for other things.
My granddaughter got mad at me on Monday night. She came over to spend some time with me she said (she's 9) and complained all I was interested in was playing poker. Broke my heart when she said that as it means I do not have my priorities in the right order.
My oldest daughter and granddaughter will be here for supper tomorrow. They come over every Wednesday night to eat with us and I will try to make it up to her then.

Here are 2 mundane hands I played tonight at Omaha ZOOM. The only reason I am posting them is to facilitate a discussion if anyone is interested.

Hand 1-
I flopped the world and decided to bet out instead of slow playing. I figured my best chance of winning a big pot was to find my opponent with a 10. No luck this time.

Hand 2-
This hand worked out much better.
I called the pre-flop raise in position and then bet my draw in position. Fortunately my opponent missed his draw.

I'm not sure if I agree with that... I mean I undertand that it hurts, but if you really want to be successfull in poker (or any other thing in life) you always have to make sacrifices like this... only if you commit yourself 100% to your goals you will be able to reach them...
That was one of the reasons why I stopped playing live PLO cash for a living, cause I didn't like how it changed my social life anymore...

I try to find a balance between the 2, poker and real life. My default setting is/should/will always be to my granddaughter.
When I was a much younger and single man I played for a living as I did not have any other forms of income. I put myself through University playing.
When the children came along poker was a way to supplement my income. Without the game there is no way I could have given them the extras in life. My wife was always a stay-at-home mom so money was always tight around here. With poker supplying an additional income I was able to buy a house for my family to life in, drive a new car, make sure the kids were always in after school activates no matter the cost. etc., etc., They always had whatever they needed and most of whatever they wanted growing up. It didn't matter what, as long as I had enough money to buy it, they got it.
The down side to this is that I was away from home a lot of the time they were growing up.
THERE IS ALWAYS A TRADE OFF. YING FOR YANG.
Today the players are much, much, tougher to beat. The on-line game especially. Because of that and the fact I still like to play I stick to smaller buy-in tournament and cash games where the games are easier. I like to play but I still like to win.
When I play live I play for much higher stakes then I do on-line.
I also enjoy live a heck-of-a-lot more then I do playing on a computer. But time constraints dictate my playing venue most of all and unfortunately that means most of the time it's in front of a computer.
I am 60 years old. My game isn't bad but then again it isn't near where my friends are either.
I missed a lot with my children when they were growing up. I will not be making the same mistake with my granddaughter.
FAMILY-WORK-POKER. That is my priority. If my games does not improve as fast as it should, so be it.
Once I retire, as long as things do not change between now and then, I plan on taking the 60 hours a week I work and spending almost all of it playing poker, with the majority of that at my local casino.
WE ALL NEED DREAMS TO KEEP US MOTIVATED.

Why does having AA cracked by 54o awaken my inner tilt monkey, but losing a job I've had for 17 years can be taken in stride?

I too had a crappy January.
