Had a great day study-wise. Fantastic coaching with Gordon, learned so much. Also reviewed another 20 mins of coaching session with Ilidek which has some real good nuggets of information and made good notes on that. I feel that I am learning at a really fast pace lately.

After a meeting she went to local (small) supermarket at 2140 hours to get some groceries and as she was about to walk in there was an armed robbery! She was rather shaken up and spent ages with the police at our house making a statement. Don't think she slept too well either so I dunno how she is coping with a class of 30 ten and eleven year olds today!!!

Hey man nice blog. was just wondering what sites do you play on? and i dont wanna start playing HU at nl50 on stars so which site can you reccomend with lower stakes and decent rakeback deals etc?

Day 91

Really having to push myself today...

Started off with not being able to get to sleep after session last night... Played a bit longer than usual due to a fish and did no cool down at all (well it was 0100hrs) which just resulted in me going to bed and lying there still buzzing a bit for ages.

Then our son (3) was ill in the night coughing like crazy and struggling to breathe, was on the brink of calling ambulance but he calmed down a bit and we phoned up doctor and they/we decided to see how he goes. He did calm down a bit so he went to doctor's today and they said it is croup. Poor little bugger is on antibiotics already for something else.

So my usual 5.5 hours sleep was more like 3.5 hours I guess. Came to work this morning and its a real grind. Could do without work ;)

Got all my tasks done so its a great success (although last one was on auto-pilot!).

Am planned in to play 5.5 hours tonight but will need to see how I feel later. Won't be first time I played in zombie mode (I have even set alarms in past to wake me up "just in case" ;) ) so let's see...

I play FTP, Pokerstars and iPoker. I have just opened accounts at Party and Microgaming because at some times there is not much action on NL50 and I don't want to play lower due to ridiculous rake. I am looking for other sites (preferably supporting PT4) myself. Playing lower than NL50 at HU seems only good for practice so I played NL4 on ipoker for that.

Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really did play badly for first 1.5 hours of my session last night. I played a high variance villain for too long when I should be table selecting better and I made a few bad river calls (fortunately in smaller pots).

Some of this was because I was so tired from 4 hours sleep the night before and I think I was just not in control of my actions. I noticed I was almost 3bi down (my stoploss) and managed to get angry enough to kind of wake up and play better. I at least managed to stay playing another 4 hours without hitting stop loss which I am happy with but not too happy to play badly of course.

That is a pretty good example of the type of mistake I made, just not thinking it through enough. Just was not sharp enough to do it automatically.

Sometimes being tilted in this way can help show up mistakes. I then spent some time looking to see if I was making river calls too light and tbh I hardly found any but there were a couple this year.

I looked at a tonne of -40bb pots and there was only 1 I thought I should have played differently. I posted most of them in forum anyway and almost all seemed well played.

Good day at the tables. Ran nicely (no bad beats/coolers!) and villain selection was good. I took slightly longer over each decision than normal which helped me a lot.

I spent a bit of time on admin type work for poker, just sorting my files out so that stuff is easier to find and tidying up some of my notes. Also I made some adjustments to some of poker goals (not gonna say much but basically aiming higher than I already was).

Day 95

OK! Some things are gonna change slightly...

Will take some advice I received in one of my blogs and will post less in forums. Blog will be 3x per week instead of all playing days and instead of posting on (almost) all hands in forum I will concentrate on 3 or 4 players and comment on theirs. Makes sense to choose other students coached by Ilidek so that's nice and simple.

Not totally happy to blog less as its kind of an "end of that day" thing for me with a little summary and then I move on to next day (btw my "poker day" starts at 7.15pm!). I can find something else to take its place though.

The time I spent in forum I will shift to reviewing my coaching notes and my personal notes for strategy/concepts etc. I am forgetting a lot of stuff because I don't see it often enough and that's not good enough.

Just wanna thank Lucima for the advice and the kick up the butt (did I need that!?) and Ilidek for taking time to go through my current schedule and giving me great advice (and reassurance ;) ).

Summary Day 95. Worked ass off. Lost money. Ran bad AIEV. Lots of admin/paperwork improvements. Made progress.

Day 98

Phew, running bit better last few days!

Awesome coaching with Ilidek - 100% golden info constantly!

Was so tired this weekend - at the end of the week my eyes were flickering a lot and when I went to bed Saturday night my eyes were really red and bloodshot! Woke up Sunday and one eye was hurting but it went within the hour and all seems good now!! Reckon just tired (and old age LDO!).

Found Planetwin the other day and they booted me off already for being UK! Actually I would boot UK too, its full of idiots! ;)

Study going great. Much work to do...

Day 100

100 days! Wow! Where did that go!?

Two awesome days. I just cannot believe how much work I am getting through. I am convinced thought process improves every day.

Must thank Ilidek (again) for helping me to improve how I study and making me more efficient than I ever dreamed was possible! My study is really well structured atm and feel I accelerated lots last few days.

2 days = $0 (Lost $74 then won $74 :) )

Overall profit/loss = $132

After 100 days: Super happy. Results might be better but not worried about this. My learning techniques have improved, my performance has improved, my skill has improved. These are the things that will turn me into a Printing Poker Pro. Let's go!!!

Hey eatyourpeas, just stumbled onto your blog, very interesting! I myself am in the construction industry (floorlayer in UK), and am also interested in poker so I'll definitely be following. Most interesting was your comment on sleep reduction though. This has been a small interest of mine for some time now. Would you mind just outlining the method you used of getting down to 4/5 hours? (i.e. sleep hours/nap hours, if, as i presume, that's what you are doing?)

That 4-5 hours sleep is real extreme,i think 6 hours sleep is possible and can be done by anyone.

Had great coaching on Saturday. Ilidek seems happy with my study methods and my progress on my thought processes. Learned lots of good new stuff to add to the millions of other golden nuggets of info!

Last week: Lost $110, played 39+ hours, studied easily over 20 hours. Knackered ;) .

Hi there! Welcome! I work in timber merchant!
Regarding sleep I don't take naps but I try to sleep exact same hours each night. At the moment this is 0100 - 0630. I can sleep less than this but I am on overload atm and I am NOT exercising (if you exercise then do it 1st thing in morning if you want to reduce sleep). When I was training first thing in morning I was sleeping 4 to 4.5 hours. No alcohol. Lots of water. Lots of sunlight. Obviously it takes a bit more than this but that's a start!

Yh for sure I agree. Atm my brain is in overdrive too much so I cut out training/exercise while I do this Coaching For Profits otherwise = EXPLODE! But still 5.5 hours is comfortable and I wake up earlier most days anyway. Welcome! :f_drink:

Day 109

Today was good but yesterday was crap day. Hit stop loss and played like an idiot.

Tilted off a buy-in in two hands with seriously bad river calls which is not like me at all. I will get to the root of it, nothing to do with strategy so I know how to face this problem.

One buy-in was lost playing a guy with 90% flop donk and I just never got a hand to win against him. I should have left him. I need to work on this skill again as my bankroll can't take the hits.

Another buy-in was QQ < AA all-in pre std and then the two tilt hands (partly started by 99 < QJo all-in pre for 30bb which caused me to succumb to tilt).

So yeah, plenty to work on there!

Made total new warm-up thanks to Ilidek's help. Really helped me in yesterday's session.

Study is going great, still working on very basic skills and trying to get those down rather than overloading with a million different things.

Day 112

Tough times. More losing sessions to handle and my confidence is getting dented. Fortunately I had coaching last night and Ilidek again seemed happy with my progress with regards to thought process. Just need to make it better in game and also keep improving every day.

Need to make sure I am value betting turn and river well but also need to be careful not to work on too many different things at once.

Villain selection, adapting to villains preflop and playing solid. Back to work...
