My graph [above] is typical of a player playing strong / value hands aggressively and folding my non-value hands. I recognised that I was not stealing enough; defending blinds enough and was folding to 3bets / 4bets too much.

I have tried to address some of the above issues to improve my non showdown winnings and my latest graph [below] shows a massive improvement [... albeit over a very small sample size]. Win rate 38bb/100.

I would appreciate your comments / feedback and look forward to the next video in the series.

Looks like I'll have to wait to watch the next video in the series due to the change in status requirements from Silver to Gold???

EDIT: Since my original post & thanks in part to double PS points promotion I have achieved Gold status, so all good. πŸ˜€

Hello w34z3l!
I've watched the first part of your new series and it's getting really interesting.

Part 1:

Spoiler

According to our homework:

Spoiler

nl25/50

Issues to consider:
:club:How to keep calling over 20% BB vs BTN and not folding over 50% to cBet
:diamond: playing medium pocket pairs in 3bet pot in position
 calling 3bet oop on SB vs BB and postflop plan
:spade: How to determine if as agressor i should keep barreling or start bluffcatching

Thanks and keep it up! :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Printing money preflop"
Part 2:

Spoiler

Here are my general stats(3bet, vs 3bet fold, 4bet range) and below there is a chart with 3betting % position vs position.

Spoiler

Spoiler

My 3bet values are slightly higher than presented in the video, so as you have said my blue line is also lower.

Spoiler

3bet values on MP, SB and BB i think are ok.

Definietly i need to improve 3bet on CO,BU position. It's that low because it contains mostly bluffs and quite often i flat call premium hands. On the other hand, many of my opponents have F23bet of over 60% and 4bet range ~2%, so i found it better to 3bet bluffs instead of value hands. That also may be the reason why my fold to 4bet is high.

Also i have very high ft3bet on SB vs BB (over 66%). The reason is that i steal very loose vs. opponents with f2steal 62%+, so even if they reraise me, my steals are profitable. But still there are some hands i could easily go for 4bet bluff, such as Axs,ATo-A9o,K9o+, QTo+

Spoiler

Taking a look at my SQZ statistics i think on most postitions it's fairly ok, except BB vs BU open. Probably the reason behind it is, that i decide to call wider, instead of SQZ. Still on nl50 most of the playerpool (including me) have fold to SQZ of over 65%, so i should go with and steal more $ :)

Hey guys, I'm in too =)
Homework #1 (Myths and Realities)
I play 25-50nl FR on Stars and here's my up-to-date graph (click for zoom in):

Spoiler

Red-line loserate is -10.5bb/100.
Leak buster position tab:

Spoiler

Obviously I'm the second type of player you were talking in the first vid.
I've been working on my stats for the last 1.5 months and have achieved some progress, however I still have some problems such as:
1. My WTSD is normal, but on the low side (it was 21-22 couple months ago).
W$SD is still big enough (no matter it's upswing or downswing ) and WWSF is on the low side, can be higher.
2. High fold flop vs Cbet, low raise Cbet flop - it's always a problem for me(
3. Low river cbet - I don't know when to bluff with 3 barrels, in fact I've never known.
But I would like to leave my fold vs river cbet as it is, because I think low river cbet is limit tendency.
4. Low winrates on blinds - it's also never been good ;(
---
5. I think I can increase my 3bets on MP, CO, BTN in the right situations - I just have to be more observant. Maybe I don't like to 3bet bluff too much because of the fish which is always at a table.
6. My coldcalls are differentiated as you've said in the vid, but I wonder if they are not to low even for FR game.
Homework #2 (Printing Money Preflop)
So I did the 3bet filter just like in the vid, and I've seen that about most of profit is made thanks to my red-line:

Spoiler

And it doesn't depend on positive/negative variance - in contrast with blue-line :f_biggrin:
Also I'd like to increase the number of hands I'm 3betting - you see on the gragh 800 hands for about 50k total, I think it can easily be twiced :f_drink:
Then I've decided to see what strongest hands I've folded on BTN:

Spoiler

red cross means I've played the hand wrong
With Khigh hands the situation is the same... So I've decided to display 4bet stat by position, in one row with RFI. For me it looks like:

Spoiler

So the number of my 3bets IP have increased, thanks
However I haven't made any new adjustments when I 3bet OOP, mostly because it's always made from the blinds, and the blinds I play really bad :baby:
I thought about polaryzed/merged ranges, and I've decided that if there is no huge leaks in opponent's stats (or in my stats if opponent is really good and is trying to exploit me), then there is no reason to 3bet OOP a LOT of speculative hands (SC, gappers, Kxs, Qxs, whatever). Although I'll have the initiative on the flop, speculative hands have about 20% equity against strong range and it would be pretty hand to realize it without huge opponent's leaks.
But I think there are some speculative hands that are mandatory for polaryzed 3bet OOP (such as 75s BB vs BU steal from regular). I like the idea about mandatory bluffs at all - I think that's the field where a lot of good but not best players lose their value. And I've started to notice the situations where I just HAVE TO bluff, thanks a lot for that =)
Homework #3 (Blind Efficiency)
I've reviewed the last 42k of my hands because I've changed my blinds defending strategy (or I thought so :f_confused: ) - where it allows the samplesize, of course.

Spoiler

As you see, my blinds winrates are -15.8 and -52.3 (btw I'm using evbb/100, I'm not sure, Adam, if it's right to use net won bb/100 on a low samplesize). The good winrates are -15 and -35 (I think it's impossible to make -30bb/100 on BB on FR-tables - never seen anything like that). So the differences are 0.8 and 17.3 between my actual winrate and let's say desired. And I'm going to improve my blinds play which can give me (0.8 + 17.3)/9 = additional 2bb/100 (I suppose I should divide by 9, not by 6, because of the FR).
My overall coldcall on SB is 3.7 and looks low.
BL vs BU

Spoiler

3bets are 13.7 and 9.6, CC - 3.8 and 19.7. I think I can add 2-3% to both 3bets, about 5% to SB CC and at least 10% to BB CC.
I have positive winrate when I'm defending blinds by coldcall (in fact I always had :( )

Spoiler

Spoiler

That means I'm still not defending enough hands (maybe I'm just too afraid about playing vpip>80% on the blinds and then giving up almost always on postflop. The fact that no one at 25nl knows how to defend blinds give me courage :f_biggrin:)
Flop raise cbet = 30. I think it's fine assuming I'm going to increase my CC numbers.
WTSD = 17 (WTSD = 21 for the last year by this filter) worries me a lot.
I'm not allowing making autoprofit for opponents by folding 38-33-56 on cbets, but my wtsd is so low - why? Can't get it. Or river fold is too high?
BB vs SB

Spoiler

vpip = 38.4 - I'm still not defending enough :f_o:
fold vs cbet = 40 - will be higher if I'm going to defend more, so I need to defend more
raise cbet = 12.5 - I'm raising way too tight
BL vs CO

Spoiler

I should CC more SBvsCO and 3bet more BBvsCO.
Fold to cbet = 48,6 on the flop and 60 on the turn - I'm giving up too frequently against CO. Maybe I'm afraid to play against tigher ranges (in comparison with BU) :(
BL vs EP

Spoiler

CC looks fine assuming it's FR and I play vs 12-16% EP open. Though WTSD looks high :f_confused:
BL sv BU <2.6bb steal vpip=no

Spoiler

I should defend offsuited connectors and more Qxs on BB.
On SB I should defend more suited gappers and Axo.
BB vs SB <2.6bb steal vpip=no

Spoiler

Should defend all Axo, all broadway hands and hands like K9o, K8o, Q9o, Q8o etc.
Summary:
1. I'm not CC enough on SB. I can still do it if BB is not much aggressive.
2. I'm still not defending enough, although I thought I did. Maybe I should just defend a lot as a default and then start thinking on postflop how to play maxEV?
3. Still don't know the main reason of my WTSD=20 on blinds :f_cry:
My folds vs cbet are fine, but can be lowed a bit.
Overall play on the blinds vs CO or BU steal: (see WTSD)

Hi!
Here's my beast of a graph of the past year.

I was a constant losing player due to mindset issues (but here is not the right place )
There are also a lot of blue line problems that need fixing and i am at that.

Red line problems, I'm aware of:
3betting to low, choosing wrong spots for turn, river bluffs, defending sb/bb not enough, missing out on free money.

I will definitely follow!

Thanks w34z3l for all of the work you put into this!

Homework #2:
BB defend: I called to much (40%) and raised to little.
3bet: Way to low (alltime value is 4 %).Think, I used 3bet charts provided in the walkthrough to seldom. Was looking for the perfect opponent (high fold to 3bet). Am now 3bet the ranges more as a default.

Not much for a homework. Next time I put more effort into it.

If I run that 3bet filter on my hands on Pokerstars last year it looks like this:

It looks pretty much as expected. My 3bet was at 3.04. So I have tried to improve my 3bet playing these last few days. It actually feels good. It reminds me of the days when I was a winning player. I hadnΒ΄t a clue on position, bet sizing or anything. My only strategy was raise or fold. I have not started to print money yet but I believe I am going to do better on that front as soon as I can get this into my autopilot. As it has been lately everything goes quite well until I run to a bad beat and then I get passive and call a lot of hands I should have folded and call a lot of hans I should have raised. The graf for 3bets on these days:

But my biggest problem is my lack of aggressivity. I have an Agg of under 2 on most sites.

Hello Weasel and everyone,

I'll be following this series. The walkthrough series was great, I'm looking forward to seeing the next episodes.

This graph shows my last 100K hands in NL10. I'm trying to settle in NL25 but I only have 50K hands so far moving up and down. My database is at your disposal, in case you need more.

About the problems I notice in my game: I'm pretty sure I need to work on my preflop ranges, since I'm very tight, specially when defending the blinds. I also felt your comment on some bluffs being mandatory was addressed to me :) I'm sure my game has leaks everywhere, but these are the big problems I'm aware of.

Thank you for this new series!

Spoiler

---------------------------------

Episode 2: 3bet and 4bet

I'm focusing on folding less to 3bets. As seen in the table, I have folded more than 70% of the times in some positions (my biggest problem is when facing resteals, for what I can see). My 4Bet range is also pretty low, I'll try to include some more bluffs. The kind of hands I'm folding in BTN vs CO is the same as shown in the video's review.

Spoiler

I also apreciated your comment on how to adapt vs short and half stacks. I was always kind of lost when facing a 3bet from them.

I guess I could also 3bet and squeeze more... I'll be working on my preflop ranges using your Walkthrough adviced ranges as a base.

The next one is scheduled for Monday. We didn't fully plan further yet & as we also other nice stuff to release we are most likely going to be alternating between weekly/biweekly, so Friday - week off - Monday - Friday - week off.

If you play without Hud how many chances? NL5

The question is wrong. You can learn a lot and play good poker without a hud, and you can play bad poker with a hud. But i recommend you this: If you manage to climb up to NL10 its a good time to buy one and learn to use it. At this point you probably have the basic theory and you can earn enough money to pay with your poker winnings. And this will give you a good feeling :f_cool:

The real reason why everyone's red line is going down is because HM2 or whatever shove all your rake onto your red line for whatever reason. Add your rake paid to your red line to get a true non showdown winnings stat. That's why pretty much only crushers are going to have a break even or positive red line at the micros given you are playing like 10bb/100 in rake.
