You'll find that 5NL isn't massively different to 2NL... maybe a little more aggro in the blinds vs steals. Good plan sticking to 2 tables initially until you get a better feel for the pool.

w34z3l's 6 max walk through & new series [... above] is a good place to brush up / work on your game.

Keep up the good work & GL in 2015. _thumbsup:

Hey, just thought I'd drop in say hello see how spending your day at NL5 has or is coming along.

I imagine a bit of a difference but judging by your previous post some minor adjustments and your well on your way.

I've put SnG's to the side at the moment and have jumped back into cash NL4 6max and have been reading blackrains book as well watching a bit of w34z3ls videos. There's another blog "Challenge 1k$ into 10K$ x3mwisp has or is climbing his way up. Pretty impressive sessions he's doing. Mad hours at the tables and even does a few live sessions. Haven't caught a live one but watched his posted video's.

anyhow, hope xmas went well for yourself and looking forward to some more blogging.

Well it's almost the new year here in Toronto so I figure I may as well do a year end review and post my 2015 goals.

Poker wise, I've been lingering around the forums and played a little bit here and there. I only put in any decent volume until near the end of the year.

My transition to cash game has reignited my interest in poker, and I look forward to learning new concepts and moving up stakes in due time.

2014 was a pretty decent year overall TBH. I finally went back to school after putting it off and making excuses every time. I also feel as though I've matured a lot too, and don't chase after things I cannot control. I don't try to change people like I tried to. This year I realized that people are who they are and I have no right to tell them how to live their life according to my standards.

I have no tangible evidence to prove that 2015 is going to be a great year for poker and personally too. I just feel it.

So here it is my 2015 goals:

:spade: Play 500,000 hands
:spade: Beat 5nl speed poker
:spade: Beat 10nl speed poker
:spade: Beat 25nl speed poker
:spade: Earn goldstar status on pokerstars
:spade: Earn platinum status on stars
:spade: Dedicate myself to a cycle of continuous growth and change

Personal 2015 goals
:spade: Settle all debts
:spade: Apply to University - Get in
:spade: Do some travelling to different cities
:spade: Start a savings account (mutual funds, GICs)
:spade: Start working out again

Well here are my 2015 goals and I believe in due time that I will achieve all of these goals. These goals are realistic and I know that if I approach these goals the same way I approached many things that I have achieved then it will happen in due time.

Goodbye 2014!!!!!! Hello and welcome 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great goals maythany - both poker-wise and especially the personal ones. I think you can definitely make these happen and look forward to following your progress as you tick them off the list!

Happy New Year bud!

So I decided to read your blog from page 1. Interesting i had no idea you were big in SnG's before Zoom.

Sounds like you had success at the lower limits but like most moments in our lives, we have these downswings and YIKES! It's hard to bounce back, even if we've bounced back many times before. Nice to see you switched it up. Explains why your advice to me earlier when I was discovering myself you were very open and shed some light on the topic.

Should chat some more about fast as we're both grinding the same limits, be interested to see how we compare notes. Looking at your earlier graphs you posted made me chuckle as I too have a "warm-up" phase when I begin, seems like the first hour or so is like madness donking off to people, but once i get my feet planted I have some pretty good moments out there.

Anyhow, just thought as your were posting here for a while now that read up on your blog. Again very inspirational of what you've done and accomplished and hopefully we can work together on this cash game and move on up to higher limits!

Cheers dude!

Hello guys! Sorry for the cold shoulder:f_cool:

Well, I applied to university and to my surprise, I had to pay 230 dollars so I withdrew most of my bankroll to help pay for that expense and pay some other bills too.

I got 40 bucks left and will be at 2nl 6 max speed poker for the time being.

As some of you may notice, I am also silverstar!

That means I'll be watching some cash game videos on here and I've already watched some of weazls videos.

OH! Did any of you guys notice there is 16nl zoom poker now? I did not notice that before!

not many people are playing it, but it's pretty cool there's a new limit not

Base on my calculations, I should have at least 50 buy-ins by the start of march. Then again, I could go on a long losing streak and that'll set me back a lot.

All I really know for a fact is I am going back to 5nl. It's not a matter of "if", it's a matter of "when".

That's all for now!

Take Care,

Maythany

small session today:

Flopped top paid with J9o and stacked off with it against a fish. Turns out he had TT and I thought he was over-valuing a 9-x hand. Turns out I was the person who was over valuing my hand:f_cry::f_cry::f_cry::f_cry::f_cry:

How's it going Maythany?

Just wondering how you made out with University and if you are still playing poker or not? I just started up again after taking a couple years off.
If you pop on here again, let me know by dropping a quick post to my blog so I see it.

Hope everything is good!
