Just caught up to the thinking poker podcast on cepheus. Boggled at what they threw at it computation wise. 4800 cpu's for 70 days! Overkill much?!

When towards the end they talk of other applications of these algos I think everyone is missing the big opportunity.
Which is not solving entire problems, but using solutions as a learning tool so some intelligence (humans or larger aglo's) can make better decisions at specific situations in larger unsolvable problems. Very much like what we are trying to do with poker with your solutions here. :f_thumbsup:

Across different problems, I'd guess humans have some cross related mistakes. That with some caution, care & intelligence may be identified and then extrapolated (rules for humans or algo's) to further unsolvable problems.

900 CPU years. My code now gives a 2% of pot exploitable solution for 15% v 15% preflop ranges in a single raised pot with one raise size allowed in about 8 CPU hours. If I'd have been offered that performance when I started coding I'd have snap called.

Applications to other problems? Whatever. I'm too old. I just like poker. :f_drink:

10% of the way to becoming a black member, and my dreams are shattered. :f_frown:

Anyway, on a brighter note, I think I've found the problem with doing fractional ranges in my code. Moron coding error. I fixed it, but it broke my gui. I don't care. All will be sorted soon. Also, some people seem interested in paying me real $$ for either the code or solutions too, so I'm exploring my options at the moment.

Indeed. I thought that might happen. I suppose none of it affects me. I'm going to add Black Members to the list of persecuted minorities with whom I stand shoulder to shoulder. TwiceT now lines up with Bruce Jenner, Alan Turing and anyone who's supported Spurs for more than 20 years. I salute you all.

Hey Nutz,

Just wondering why you removed the video? What rule did it break exactly? The video is freely used in the German community where every mention is not met with censorship.

On a serious note, if this company cannot look at the funny side of a video I think it's time we all packed our bags.

Apparently I'm not allowed to throw abuse at other members of PS, so I'll just point you all to comment number 7 in this news story

http://www.pokerstrategy.com/news/world-of-poker/Doyle-s-sex-change-comments-featured-in-TMZ_89881/

More revealing than anything I could say. My views are in comment number 10. Am I allowed to say that I think Doyle Brunson's a fucking idiot? Surely he's not a PS member?

It's a good job free speech prevails though.

Of course. Everyone's got the right to hold unpleasant, stupid views as long as they don't harm anybody else. I personally believe that God is a giant bowl of lasagne, that the British government driving one of their greatest scientists to suicide was not the smartest thing to do and that Spurs are the greatest football team in the world (last night's result notwithstanding), and you'll never persuade me otherwise.

The yt video hasn't been edited in the German forums ... so if you quote the German post with the link here ... is it still against the forum rules? :f_confused:

The English are a tad more sensitive than the Germans when it comes to critique. They go with the principle that everyone is allowed to speak freely as long as they agree with us. What could go wrong?

As an Englishman, I take that personally, and it's clearly a racist statement, making sweeping, unjustifiable assumptions about both the Germans and the English. Can a moderator please delete this fucking idiot's post?
