SB checks, Hero bets 1 BB, SB calls 1 BB

River: (5 BB, 2 players) 5♣
SB checks, Hero checks

Read: This guy has had honest flop checks so far.

Hate my river play. Sure, I win vs A5 and worse. But I think that if I bluff to begin with on this board with A high, I must carry through. otherwise, there is little point in bluffing with it. Not too sure he's calling with a small pp or a better A. Flushes got there.

Not sure about that one, but I would checkdown from the turn. I'm not expecting the SB folding anything better. Speaking off bluffs you have enough worse hand to bluff on that board.

I think is better you 3bet the preflop. A6s is good hand and you are IP, but with the hand control, when you bets flop he will be more scared and can throw a better hand than yours. As played I don't bet in river also, if he called flop and turn, the 5 is not going to scare and he is decided to pay with Ah, 22+, 3x... :roto2: or is checkraising the river with flush

if you take this line you should bet the river i guess. a lot of people c/c A highs to the river. if you say he is honest about his flop checks I don't think he does this with pps. he should at least bet them on the flop right ? even if its 22 or 33. you can safely rule out the smallest when he calls the turn unless hes a trapper.

but yeah i dont personally like to bet here more than once (flop)

and as djchals you really should 3bet this preflop.. i know you were very fond of the always call in BB no 3bet but at the stakes you are playing i honestly think theres no reason not to 3bet..
