(100/200 blinds, 25 ante) 9 Players - villain is active - 20/17/28 over 30 hds, and we've seen them 3b (sb v mp) w' A9o and chk down an A high dry brd all the way to the rvr, a few hds earlier, vs another player

SB: 4,504 (22.5 bb)
BB: 2,628 (13.1 bb)
Hero (UTG+1): 5,263 (26.3 bb)
UTG+2: 6,023 (30.1 bb)
MP1: 6,741 (33.7 bb)
MP2: 12,190 (61 bb)
MP3: 5,857 (29.3 bb)
CO: 12,518 (62.6 bb)
BTN: 6,506 (32.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with J J
Hero raises to 400, 2 folds, MP2 raises to 900, 5 folds, Hero raises to 5,238 and is all-in, MP2 calls 4,338

Flop: (11,001) A 5 T (2 players, 1 is all-in)
Turn: (11,001) 9 (2 players, 1 is all-in)
River: (11,001) 4 (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results:

Spoiler

11,001 pot
Final Board: A 5 T 9 4
Hero mucked J J and lost (-5,263 net)
MP2 showed K A and won 11,001 (5,738 net)

I ran some equity calcs vs his perceived range, and we have good equity with our jacks vs it, but is there any alternative to the 4b shv here, with our stacksize?

Also, is their call a bit speculative vs our UTG raise/4b shv range, or totally standard?
(I am pretty tight in EP mostly, running about 10/9 for this mtt)

Cheers!

Vs an active villain the shove is the best option IMO. As far as his call, if you are pushing JJ+, AK, it's roughly break even, it only becomes bad when you tighten up to QQ+, AK.

- thanks for taking time to post julito23!

I realise it's a fairly basic spot and all, but still good to get some reassurance/another viewpoint, all the same

if you are searching for alternatives then good line would bet 4bet to 1.9k and call AI or if you believe he would 5bet jam only QQ+ then maybe you can even find fold. But for sure 4bet jam here is most classic rout, but for sure prefer 4bet small and call AI. Hes call is standard even against NIT (prob his bottom part of range). And he has more than double your stack.
