I don't think iso raise pre would accomplish much. Bet bigger flop and turn. I would rather exclude TT and 99 from his range as with those he would raise preflop. Given this is limped pot I would probably fold after the raise. Sets are raising the flop. Straight is quite possible. Did he had the J8?

I also vote for bigger bets. That deep, I wouldn't be comfortable to go all in, as tight as it sounds. The CO's raise on the turn looks like the nuts. I would bet/fold.

With the amount of limpers it was limpfest Would an Iso raise on the preflop of around $0.20 been better? I don't know why but I have always just checked the big blind if there have been no bets. Analysing this hand and taking this advice on board I reckon I would have have had a few players fold their limp pre flop and I suppose I would have a better idea of where I stood if someone reraised.

Seems to be the general consensus, would a pot bet or maybe more on the flop been right and a pot on the turn. My thinking was to bet for value rather than protection as I was certain I was ahead. I suppose if I had made an iso raise preflop the pot on the flop would have been bigger too which might have helped.

J8o was his hand and perhaps with his huge bet on the turn I should have given up the hand. My thinking was the flop did not look draw heavy, so I was confident of being ahead. I should have paid more attention to the turn card I just did not see the straight coming

Also in this game some players were going all in with trash hands, however I did not have much info on range / betting patterns of this particular player.

I would not have entered the hand preflop with J8o but then perhaps with so many limpers and so many rounds being completed by others just limping in I suppose you might think why not play a speculative hand. I do not limp though.

I can see that he had a gutshot draw on the flop with 5:1 chance of completing on the river but with a call needed of 8 into 22 so the pot odds were less than the drawing odds. However maybe at this level and for a relativly small % of stack villain is not bothered.

kevin, just because he has a set and str8 is unlikely or because of the 10 outs he would have agaisnt a str8?

Iso raising will thin the field. We want to play vs someone with strong hand so that when we hit a set he will call all his stack.
