April Challenge

Day 20

Session with w34z3l 1.5 hours
Studied CG 2.5 hours
Grinded online CG 6 hours
Had coffee with best friend
Talked with my friend and fellow reg as well as brutal reg (1 hour)

Total 10 hours of Poker activity.

Super productive day for poker.
With days such as today I can definitely see myself crushing NL100 by the end of the year and understanding the game much better.
It will be difficult to maintain such work rate but 8 hours per day should be a standard for all future months with focus on grinding 5-6 hours studying 2 hours and when grinding is 5 instead of 6 hours to coach SNGs 1 hour. This seems like perfect balance to keep all the great things going!

Session with w34z3l
We talked about webinar he did recently then went into HH review. I showed w34z3l also on what kind of things I am working on and where I will be putting tons of hours in the future. I am very happy that he found what I was showing him today super interesting and important to the point that he wanted to do it on his own also :)
So in future months I hope to share my insights with him and let him know of all the discoveries I made in the meanwhile.
Very useful session overall, look forward to next one on Friday - only 2 more left in May!

CG Study
2.5 hours today. In the morning I did 0.5 hour doing lost hands review from previous day. Marked hands for discussion as well as wrote quick thinking process regarding certain spots that I could or should have played differently.
Remaining 2 hours were split into 1 hour sessions each. 1 hour I reviewed hands from today where I was specifically checking the spots that I know produce my biggest losses. Final 1 hour I spent studying very important things for future limits which was just insane and brutal.
From review today I am much happier then in the past days. I kept running into unexpected top of the ranges and regs calling off way too light on river + some setups (2nd set vs top set, JJ vs QQ pre flop, 2 pairs vs mid set vs very aggro, AK vs QQ, wide reg getting paid off with his bad play on flop, AK vs KK pre flop, 3 bet pot 2 overs + 2nd nut FD getting it in vs NUT flush) and bad ran outs for strong hands that loose value and become only bluff catchers.
So I am way more happy today despite ending the day with -231.46$ in 5214 hands. My mental game was much better, decision making was also very solid, I did have some mistakes but I know that the way I played today long term has minimum 5bb/100 on NL50 ZOOM. There is still some adjustments that I have to make vs specific regs because not all of them have same tendencies obviously. Once I write out those things and start adjusting, naturally swings will decrease and I will stop for example bluff shoving in 3 bet pot vs a reg who bluff catches with 3rd pair on dry texture etc. For all this to happen there needs to be tons of studying and note taking for them. It is something that I will do as I get even more sample on some of them so from May way more adjustments are expected for sure!

NL50 ZOOM Grind
6 hours of grind today. 1 hour in coffee place , 5 hours at home. At home I played 5 sessions 1 hour each and in between had really great break lengths for regenerating and to avoid dehydration.
Overall I am happy with how I played today, like I mentioned above after doing review for the whole day.
Without writing anything further, here is the graph for today.

5214 hands, -231.46$ -8.88bb/100 EV -6.56bb/100:

Tomorrow there is some great things set in motion.
11-13 I will be coaching Kornel SNGs followed by session with friend and fellow reg.
I will then on proceed to grind with brakes for lunch. I will aim to get to 5 hours of grind minimum tomorrow or even 6 again.
After all the grinding, in the evening I will work on the game with brutal reg. We haven't set the exact time yet but we will play it by the ear as soon as I finish my grind. I hope that I can squeeze minimum 1 hour of working with him tomorrow (today already). Also 1 hour is mandatory to study on my own and just go through all the hands from that day and check the leaks using specific filters.
Really look forward to tomorrow and it can very well turn out to be another 10 hour day, I certainly hope so!

Brutal day so far! Just a quick update.

HU Championship Round 2 is on!
You can check my thread and opponent here
I hope to go through this round as well but anything can happen on such low sample + I am not professional HU player but I will do my best to be very difficult opponent to beat :)

As far as other things go, coached SNGs 2 hours, worked on the game 1.5 hour and grinded a bit over 1 hour already. Plan to do 3-4 more hours of grinding and then work on the game with brutal reg in the evening + 1 more hour of reviewing hands from today.

Enjoy this lovely upcoming weather and have fun on and off the tables!

Day 21

Coached SNGs 2 hours
Studied CG 4.5 hours
Grinded online CG 5 hours
Watched TV show The Following
Meet with fellow reg for coffee

Total 11.5 hours of Poker activity.

Absolutely amazing day when it comes to Poker productivity!
I am thrilled that I managed to accomplish all these things with very high focus and learned a lot today from studying.

Coaching SNGs
Session with Kornel was 1 hour and 40 minutes in the morning. I am glad that Kornel enjoyed it and I will also consider sharing it with all the other members of program if Kornel allows it of course.
20 minutes I responded to Daily Tracking threads. They are going through a lot of things and it is real pleasure working with them seeing them grow and improve. Look forward to next webinar in near future.

Studying CG
Super productive day for studying. 0.5 hour I studied from live play video in the early morning. 1 hour worked with friend and fellow reg on new brutal approach for development for future limits. 2 hours spent studying with brutal reg, focusing on in depth hand analysis and ranges. 1 hour went through hands from today using specific leak finder filter.
Excellent day for studying, I couldn't be any happier and satisfied with effort today. Days like this make a huge difference long term when it comes to improving at fastest pace.

Grinding NL50 ZOOM
Total 5 hours of grinding, all happening at home. Did 1 hour followed by 0.5 hour, then 1 hour 1.5 hour and 1 hour.
Results were great +388.80$ on 4852 hands.
I was running above EV since I shopped with AK vs KK and QQ vs KK all pre flop for full stack of course. The rest of EV differences came when I had sets or over pair and opponent could shop with better set or bring down my set with 2 pair or trips etc
When it comes to other hands, there were tons of interesting spots and setups.
Like loosing FH to Quads when opponent bet calls raise OOP with 2nd set getting there on turn quads while I had top set and got FH and river had perfect card for shove to extract value from flush and straights! Another one was AA in 4 bet pot multiway shoving flop and running into top trips when there was only pot size bet left (standard play). Also vs recreational player value 4 bet shoving post flop on flop top 2 pairs who had 2nd set, so standard setup. Losing with AK vs 66 BVB pre flop of course. Also QJ straight on QT987 bet calling river raise running into KJ of course. Leveling recreational player with TPTK on wet texture where he x/shoved TP2ndkicker and got it on the river.
Then there were spots when I was making mistakes by misplaying the hand one way or the other. These mistakes weren't so costly today but definitely they could have added up to 1 buy in more of winnings or so which means that I am still missing value and my win rate has space to improve which is just great news.
So overall I am happy with the way I played today, there were however hands that I should have played more calmed which would have resulted into even higher win rate. The most important thing is that my mindset is really growing daily since I embrace this improvement and development process fully and got used to 4 tabling in the meanwhile easily now. So in the future I just expect to gain even more control of my game and build upon current knowledge even more.

Here is the graph for today 4852 hands +388.80$ 16.03bb/100 EV 2.72bb/100:

Tomorrow plan is to go for 5 hours of grind, study 1-2 hours minimum and spend 1 hour doing SNG coaching via forum.
Other life related things that might follow are coffee with best friend, going for some haircut and shave, doing my laundry etc.

Day 22

Studied CG 3 hours
Grinded online CG 5 hours
Finished some important chores
Watched TV show The Flash
Went out for drinks with family and some friends
Went for coffee with best friend

Total 8 hours of Poker activity.

Productive day today.
I am very happy that I managed to do 5 hours of grinding and despite all other things do 3 hours of studying.
I am however not happy with some of my decisions today at the tables as I feel I could have made 2 more buy ins today if not a bit more. So I basically missed opportunity to make even more money and increase my win rate. You will see me saying this probably every day and I will not stop until I absolutely can crash NL50 ZOOM like a boss (7bb next target for example but even more importantly to have absolute control in each spot post flop). So until then expect daily things like this even when winning always seeking for leaks to constantly keep improving going.

Studying CG
Studied in 2 different times 1.5 hours each. Both times I was focusing on hands from today. I managed to go through all lost hands, write down in depth thinking process for 6 hands + review all the lost spots.
Tomorrow I have session with w34z3l and we will check out hands that I want to be absolutely sure about the play/line.
Overall from today's studying I noticed that I had setups that didn't work in my favor but also that I made some bad plays. Those bad plays are not brutal or anything like that but I like to think of myself as perfectionist and I will not let those mistakes slide by. I definitely will keep working to fix all the leaks to crush and move up and one day play very serious limits :)

NL50 ZOOM Grind
5 hours total today. 1 hour in coffee place, 4 hours or 4 sessions 1 hour each at home with brakes in between.
I am very happy that I have very gotten used to 4 tabling and now I do around 900+ hands per hour which is great considering that my expected win rate is around 5bb/100 or a bit more. This adds to 32.5$ post rb hourly with 100k SN which is great.
There were spots that I was not happy today with and it was mostly due to projection bias or running into top of the ranges very rarely seeing a great play from opponents in those spots.
What is funny is that today I ran way above EV but when I checked all the hands I was laughing really hard because I was ahead always with 2 pairs vs over pair, set vs overpair, AA vs KK pre flop or such spots. So all those situations that ended in all in, and there were quite a few of them actually even one with BVB AKs vs Q7s facing 5 bet from that BB reg, all of them added up to the fact that I was running way above EV when in fact every single time I was ahead :)
Then there were also hands where I ran into top of the range post flop like AKo with nut fd + 2 overs and a gutter getting it in on the turn vs already made flush where I had 7 outs left turn to river and didn't improve etc
I also spoke to brutal reg about this and some other guys and they said not to pay attention to EV , to even take it out from the graphs which I will consider to do in the future. The reason is simple because you can go all in pre flop with AA vs KK and win all the time but keep running way above EV because opponent still has equity to win it pre flop. The same type of things appear with post flop all ins (before river of course) which are also a bit skewed.
So I have definitely decided to just keep daily checking all those all in spots and realistically evaluate if I was ahead in them or behind range vs range in those spots and then check hand vs hand or hand vs range as well. It is in my opionion, the best way to be sure if you are doing the right plays because like I said EV can be very misleading in such spots.
Overall the whole day could have gone better. If I take out mistakes I made, I could have easily had couple of more buy ins profit which is a real pitty because I didn't materialize on such spots and bad plays from the opponents. I have to keep working hard until I reach super high win rate (7bb then set 10bb as next target) and just feel total dominance on NL50 ZOOM before diving deep into NL100 ZOOM. It is the best way to deal with the things I feel and keep improving as the player while making very solid $ along the way.

Here is the graph for the day.

4672 hands, +197.17$, 8.44bb/100 EV 1.28bb/100:

Here is the graph since I switched to NL50 ZOOM back on 22nd of March which is exactly 1 month ago.

82399 hands, +1935.88$, 4.7bb/100 EV 2.8bb/100:

All the graphs and results that I am posting are pre RB of course. RB is 37% with SN100k which with my grinding comes around 10$ additionally per hour.
In May I expect to grind 150 hours 4 tabling and with 5bb/100 expected win rate to make 4875$ post RB with 32.5$ hourly (22.5$ with 5bb/100 4 tabling 900 hands per hour + 10$ RB per hour = 32.5$ hourly)
Lets see if I can make that happen especially with 4 tabling. I also expect to keep improving and fixing my leaks so potentially I can in future go for 7bb/100 which is really strong win rate and brings additional 9$ per hour which would bring me to 41.5$ per hour post RB and could potentially make me 6225$.
My friend brutal reg has a bit over 10bb/100 on decent sample so I know that I can get to 7bb/100 in near future, w34z3l also assured me that 10bb/100 is achievable (and I trust those 2 guys the most and their judgement!) so I will keep pushing to prove to myself that I can be that guy who has among highest if not highest win rate on NL50 ZOOM but on steady large samples.
Keep in mind that this RB is with SN100k. I reached today 50k VPPs and most likely by the end of the year I will also go for 200k which will increase RB to 41% which will then affect my win rate even more.
So overall I can say that great things are happening, I have improved so much as a player since I switched to CG and I definitely plan to keep pushing myself in following months also.
In May I can safely say that "printing money" on NL50 ZOOM will start to happen. I have already proved on 82k sample that I can beat this limit. I now want to keep improving and beat it even more and stronger while in the process rebuilding life and poker BR for NL100 ZOOM.
Lets see what happens in May, in the meanwhile 5 hours per day average grind in April to prepare me for strong May grind!

Day 23

Session with w34z3l 1.5 hours
Studying CG 2 hours
Grinding online CG 6 hours
Went for coffee with best friend
Watched my favorite tv show The Arrow and The Americans (lunch and dinner brakes)

Total 9.5 hours of Poker activity.

Another very productive day for poker.
I am very happy how session with w34z3l went, studying and some part of the grind.
Today I had a lot of bad decisions at the tables that fall into following categories: 1) projection bias 2) rushed plays 3) opponents making bad plays and getting rewarded for it
Instead of doing a super long update today, I will just mention that 2 hours of study I went through all the hands for the day with specific filter for leak finding and I found out that I could have been up 150$ up today, instead I ended the day -200$!
Days like today remind me and help me to always reflect and never underestimate value of mental game development. All the tactical knowledge doesn't help if 1 or 2 tilt triggers can get me to make 6-7 more costly mistakes.
I will continue to work hard on both tactical and mental game and awesome things will follow for sure. Still think my biggest leak is mental game with very specific tilt triggers. Once I fix those win rate will skyrocket. Tactically I am already playing for 5-7bb/100 for sure. I am sure with mental game and tactical game within next 2 months I can get to 10bb/100 most likely. Something to aim and shoot for in next period.

Enjoy the crazy swingy graph from today.

For the month 72k hands done, 18k more to hit 90k target. I will make it easily which is great.
From 1st of May playing on my own, continuing to work with w34z3l, brutal reg and fellow friend with who I worked the most!
All these things combined + studying on my own, even more strategy improvement and studying things that are crucial to increasing win rate will eventually get me to really high win rate on NL50 ZOOM and with roll increasing get me to NL100 ZOOM.
Expect also May challenge and reflection on April when it completes.

Coached SNGs 1.5 hours
Watched derby game
Went for coffee with best friend

Tons of things going on.
My mental game is still not strong enough. There are a lot of great things happening and developing that I expect will have a huge impact on my mental game. Also, May will be the most difficult month I feel. While I am aware that I am already making same hourly like with SNGs and more, I am also aware that my mental game has tons of space for improvement in CG. It is really affecting my win rate greatly and past 10 days I have been having days ending from 2-4 buy ins up to BE or so. This is just terrible and unacceptable for my standard of play. Some other important things affecting my mental game is of course financial situation which is much better compared to what it was, my brother starting to make a living with freelancing jobs (still waiting for 1 full time ongoing thing for him) , my deal with w34z3l finishing very soon (on 1st of May) and of course actual things at the tables that start activate my tilt triggers (prefer not to go into this area for obvious reasons) and last but not the least is the fact that I haven't worked out or eaten healthy in a while (something that I made a priority to change from May as a must!). All these things dropped level of my motivation and past 2 days really felt like days of.
I have 14k more hands or a bit less to hit 90k hands for the month. That is about 3.5-4 hours daily grinding which I will put in for sure. After that things will have to change so that I can deal with my mental game more in depth.

So, plan is to set a challenge in May which will focus on following areas and priorities:
- Resume CrossFit ASAP 3-4 times per week
- Hire personal cook and assistant for grocery shopping, bills and those types of activities that need to be done but take precious time
- Study minimum 1 hour per day as a must but aim to do 2 hours per day (1 hour review 1 hour advanced theory)
- Work on CG tilt triggers by injecting logic for all of them
- Grind 4 hours per day on average (4 sessions) or 120 hours per month
- Take brakes even more frequently especially if starting to feel tired
- Don't play CG tired ever as it leads to tilt, spew and nothing good comes out of it (lesson from tonight)
- Now that money is coming in and will keep increasing, focus on increasing the win rate and improving quality of life (exercise, eating healthy, hanging out with family and friends, hooking up with girls, traveling more etc)

May will be the hardest month for me as tons of things will happen.
My hope is that things with my brother will keep developing to the point where he will get at least another long term client and business which will allow him to make more than enough money then he needs.
I will reorganize my time management, prioritize health and improvement, then fixing my mental game leaks for CG, grinding to make money and finally helping my students, hanging with family and friends.

This is the plan and my only expectation for May is that when I look back and reflect on the whole month, day by day, that my mental game leaks will appear way less then in April. By accomplishing that I am absolutely positive that results will follow and my win rate will be higher than 4bb, between 5-7bb/100 most likely. In the meanwhile, to keep getting better, besides working on my own I will still seek coaching from w34z3l and work with brutal reg and friend and fellow reg.

This is all for this update. I personally very much look forward to the end of the month so that I can focus on all the things from 1st of May. In future days, all updates might be this way since I will be spending a lot of times with my very good friend Stanko and poker I will treat as 4 hour grind and studying when possible. He is here until 2nd of May so I will try to spend every day with him, hang out all the time and do things together in the city (lovely weather outside, tons of cool places to hang visit even go to some parties etc).

Enjoy your week and keep on crushing whatever your goals are!

April Challenge

Days 26&27

Grinded online CG 7.5 hours
Studied CG 1.5 hours
Session with w34z3l 1.5 hours
Coached SNGs 0.5 hour
Went for coffee with best friend and Stanko
Had brutal lunches at favorite restaurant
Went out tonight
Watched 2 or 3 episodes of TV shows
Scheduled CrossFit Trainings for this week

Total 11 hours of Poker activity.

As mentioned in the previous update, the remaining of the month will focus on hitting the volume and spending time with Stanko while restarting with CrossFit and maintaining study habit.

Some things to mention that are really important:
- Finished last session with w34z3l for long term deal
- Need 8 more hours of grind to hit 90k hands
- Got my opponent for HU Championship Round 3 (best of 16)
- Still making mistakes at the tables but feeling less pressure every day
- Talked with my friend and Sensei, resuming CrossFit trainings from tomorrow
- Really enjoying life past 2 days, hanging out with best friend and Stanko laughing all day long
- My brother is on a great way of landing 2nd ongoing freelancing gig which will solve whole year for finances

So many important things mentioned there. I have a training in the morning for CrossFit and I feel very nervous about it as I know I will have so much pain and discomfort in it. I need to get a very good sleep for it and wake up and eat 1 hour before training.
Because of that, I won't be able to do long update on all those things but will try to make it very short and quick with 1 or 2 sentences for each area.

Long term deal with w34z3l finished
w34z3l gave his evaluation on my development in past 2 months, expectations and suggestions how to proceed.
I am very happy that I will continue working with him and that we work so well together to the point that he is flexible and wants to help me out despite our long term ending.

Need 8 more hours to hit 90k hands
2 days left, 4 hours plan to grind in each day. Will be difficult because there will be 2 CrossFit trainings, HU Championship most likely and hanging for most of the day with best friend and Stanko, but I will simply have to find time for it all.

HU Championship Round 3
Opponent is WillyD which you can check out HERE.
If I go through this round, I will potentially meet double2 in Round 4 (best of 8) our coach who plays NL200 ZOOM 6 max games. Would really love to test my skills vs such a player who is beating the stakes I am aiming for. Realize that in 1.5 hours of play a tons of things can be variance effected but still would like to see and feel if I actually have an edge in any area vs such a player!

Mental Game and Mistakes
My tactical game is expanding which results into a lot of new type of approaches/adjustments that in turn increase the variance. In process I am swinging stacks but also increasing level of my game which will increase win rate and get me ready for higher limits with absolute confidence for all areas of knowledge and game plan. In May focus with studying will be brutal (in terms of super specific areas) and I expect great things to follow in next months because of it.

CrossFit
Talked today with my Sensei and friend. He was very happy to hear that I want to get back and I already scheduled 2 trainings for this week. 1st one is tomorrow at 11am while 2nd is on Thursday 10-11am. Both trainings will be very hard, just thinking about it I can feel the pain in the muscles from not working out properly in 2 months and sweat running.

Life with Friends
So happy that Stanko arrived, I am laughing all day long cracking jokes and crying from laughing just brutal stuff. He is here until Saturday 2nd of May so until then I plan to spend every day with him, make the most out of it together. There is tons of things lined up that we will go to and do which I very much look forward to. Potentially if things at his work go the way he hopes, he may be coming to Nis for way longer periods of time or even work 50/50 London/Nis. Would be brutal if that happened and I hope it will.

My Brother and Freelancing
Great things are happening for my brother with his freelancing opportunities. In about 4 weeks, he already landed 1 great ongoing project and has tons of invitations to apply for jobs while having very interesting prospects that could turn into ongoing ones. Currently he is expecting response for 2nd ongoing project which will potentially make him more than enough money for his monthly financial needs. My mind and thoughts are in this 24/7 and I am hoping for the best for him as once he is settled I can take some time off and organize my time and priorities differently.

Very psyched to be going to CrossFit soon! (leaving in 20 minutes, packing things for training now after healthy breakfast)
Just wanted to share some info about HU Championship Round 3.
Connected last night with WillyD. Apparently he is in top 5 midstakes HU regs. Our match will happen tomorrow on PokerStars, 3pm Serbian time zone for those that want to watch. Expect that he will have an edge on me obviously as his poker CV says it all but I won't sell myself cheaply, will do my best to beat him and go through the best of 8. Will be great match up that is for sure!
Also, saw now that some people voted in the poll that I will win the match up. Appreciate your support and belief in me, another reason not to disappoint any of you out there and win this hard match up!

Enjoy your day on and off the tables!

April is finished.
Reflection for it can be very long but I will try to sum things up in couple of sentences reflecting on only most important things.

Coaching with w34z3l
Long term deal finished with success. w34z3l taught me a lot and I plan to continue working with him in the future.

Grinding NL50 ZOOM
Number of hours was satisfactory as well as fact that I switched to 4 tabling. In future months things should just improve and be easier.

Mental Game
It was really hard month and my mental game affected it a tons. I realized that it was affecting my win rate greatly and I will tackle it very hard in May.

Studying CG
Very happy with studying and improvement in April. My strategy and general as well as specific understanding improved a lot. I will aim in future months to keep this 2 hours per day study average as I feel it is crucial for my progress and moving up the stakes.

Other Great Things
- Brother starting to make a living with freelancing
- Starting CrossFit and getting back into healthy lifestyle (since yesterday)
- Going into best of 8 in HU Championship
- SNG students on a road to become very successful poker players

Days 1&2

Studied CG 1.5 hours
Grinded online CG 4241 hands 4.25 hours
Spent time with Stanko and best friend
Watched a lot of football matches

Total 5.75 hours of Poker activity.

Not a very effective start to May challenge.
Just spoke to my friend Stanko, he arrived back in London. Really had a great time hanging out with him for a full week. I hope he will come to Nis more frequently vs 2-3 times per year.
Poker wise, nothing spectacular to mention. Yesterday made 2 buy ins, today I went down like 9 buy ins. Some hands misplayed but also tons of setups. Focus was bad today due to some family emergency things going on. I am 100% sure that had effect on my will to play poker with absolute A game. Again, I have to keep working hard and aim to play only with best possible focus to increase my B game and stronger and decrease any bad decision making due to lack of focus, rushing or tilt triggers.
I am happy with studying yesterday, covered in 1 hour full advanced study which helped me understand what to do next time such things happen. Remaining 0.5 hour I just ran through the hands from today to mark for w34z3l and see the variance vs bad plays ratio.

Tomorrow plan is to coach SNGs 11-12, watch Partizan Belgrade vs Vojvodina away game + grind 4 and study 1 hour minimum. Should be very busy day and most likely I will not manage to do it all since I will prioritize Partizan game, coaching and working on the game and grinding will fit in with those things.

Day 3

Coaching SNGs 1.5 hours
Grinding online CG 0.75 hours
Studying CG 1.5 hour
Watching Football 8 hours
Meet with fellow reg for coffee
Talked with my friends Stanko and Djole over Skype and Viber
Spent time with my dad
Scheduled 3 CrossFit trainings for the whole week

Total 3.75 hours of Poker activities.

Again not a very productive day.
I am happy about coaching SNGs, 1 hour with Kornel and 0.5 via Skype consulting (answering questions).
Grinding was super low as I just didn't feel the focus being right after suck outs so wanted to prevent possible more losses. I managed to drop 3 buy ins in 581 hands, 1 buy in is KK vs T9s facing 5 bet shove opponent getting his straight, 2nd buy in is TT vs K2o facing pre flop 5 bet shove from aggro reg who hits his K :) The rest of losses are from bad run outs or super light bluff catches (Q9 calling off 3 streets on Q high texture vs EP 3 barrel etc).
When it comes to working on the game I am happy how it went. 1 hour in the morning I reviewed lost hands from yesterday and analyzed in depth 3 hands. Remaining 0.5 hour I just finished by doing more advanced study to improve my post flop.
I watched 4 football games today from which 1 was Primera, 1 was Chelsea , 2 were Jelen Super League. It just felt like that sort of day. With CrossFit start, my will power will keep growing once I get into the rhythm with it. Same goes once I hire personal cook for all the healthy meals (lunches and dinners mainly).
I am happy that I spent some time with my dad today. That was very important to me and as always very emotional.
I managed to meet with fellow reg also and hang out talk about going to some live tournaments potentially. Might be going to Belgrade in 2 weeks, depending on how I deal with my time management and mental game in May.
I did manage also to schedule all the CrossFit trainings for this week. It will be very brutal, next one is tomorrow at 10am. I still have tons of muscle soarness and pain from training that I had on Wednesday or Thursday (forget when I had it).

Tomorrow plan is to complete CrossFit training, eat healthy through out the day, coach SNGs Darko + do another hour Webinar for students, study 1 hour and aim to grind 3 hours minimum. Will not force the grind if mental game is not right as I want to play the best I can as much as I can.

Hi Mr. IvicaIliev77.

Can you detail a little bit on your strategy concerning "overbets on the flops vs capped/weak ranges"?

Best regards.

HI Mr. Velsmakende,

Thank You for this strategy question. For purposes of keeping my improvement steady and protected, I prefer not to discuss any CG strategy on my blog. A lot of people follow it, regs that I play with daily as well as upcoming regs (lots of SNG regs already switched from 6 max to CG after I switched and they follow the blog 100% sure of it) so for those reasons I prefer not to share any strategy advice here.
Also take into consideration that I took coaching for CG, payed for it and giving such valuable information for free via blog makes no sense. I could see that happening if I decide to retire from active poker playing and write out books and produce videos with strategy advices but I don't see any of it happening in next 5 years time.
There is only 3 people that I discuss CG strategy, my coach, my friend and fellow reg with who I have worked most this year and person I am very grateful to have in my life helping me a tons with CG who is probably best poker player I know.
Perhaps the best strategy advice I can give you is in terms of what you can do to improve in any troubling areas: 1) Find a better player then yourself or person that you can learn from to help you with it (team up, study and work together - make it a win/win) 2) Find a suitable coach that you trust will help you improve your game 3) Learn via videos and forums (hand evaluations)

Again, Your question is great but I prefer not to discuss any CG strategy here :)

If we play at the tables, I wish you to have fun and crush poker as well as life overall.

Day 4

CrossFit 1 hour
Studying CG 2.5 hours
Coaching SNGs 3 hours
Grinding online CG 3.25 hours 3070 hands
Meet with best friend for coffee
Finished personal obligations (hair cutting and shaving every 10-15 days standard :)
Talked with family and friends
Scheduled Quarter Finals HU Championship Match

Total 8.75 hours of Poker activity.

Very productive day today.
Every area that I put emphasis on was tackled today.
Studying was brutal. 1.5 hours on my own and 1 hour with brutal reg. On my own I watched 1 video and continued improving my strategy vs different opponents. Also went through very specific filters and marked the hands for some future session with w34z3l. Working with brutal reg was awesome as always. His advices and approach on certain aspects of game play is just amazing to me how knowledgeable he is. He input some "Virus" in my head tonight and the one that is going to cause a lot of trouble in the future with my working on the game and improvement.
Grinding was also great. I am happy that I manage to consciously make all the plays today. There were leaks but also setups but most importantly I am in process of developing learning and applying new things and my main focus is to stay on such path. Once things become 100% clear in my head, I can with 100% precision execute them and dominate any opponent type on any texture - that is one of the ideas anyways but the main idea is to keep improving, learning new things and most importantly improve C,D game and move forward B and A game!
Coaching SNGs was brutal. 1 hour with Darko session followed by 2 hours of SNG Webinar. Very happy how it all went. In near future I am planing to organize get together with all the guys that are working with me. Thinking of some time in June since I plan to complete all my study grind and CrossFit targets from this month and then organize time for meet up in June.
Finally, CrossFit. It was just amazing, I couldn't catch my breath, my eyes were red and I felt like fainting. I am definitely way out of shape for my acceptable standard. Being sick in Gevgelija in January this year left a huge trail on my work out habit and I am just grateful that I am getting back into it steady again. Talked with my Sensei and he actually helped me with training today outside, where we arranged that I will keep mixing CrossFit place + outside trainings to catch up to my old condition. I estimate that it will take me between 1 to 2 months minimum to get back into old workout routine and shape. Like with everything in life that you want to get better at, the key is always in consistency. So I will keep on doing CrossFit while in the meanwhile seeking some proper cook to hire for healthy lunches and dinners (since healthy food place is closed for a month which created this problem in the 1st place for me).

Tomorrow's theme will be playing chokata in quarter finals of HU Championship. He already busted 2 coaches and I get this feeling that HU is his main game and that he plays quite high limits. Either way, it is not my style to give up or raise a white flag, I will give my best and hopefully that will be enough to go through. The match will start at 12 and last until 1:30pm Serbian time zone on PokerStars.
Rest of the day plan is to study and grind while maintaining healthy eating habit and trying to be active as much as possible after today's brutal training.

Out of quarters in HU.
Tons of setups that didn't go my way. Top set vs flush on river + 2nd nuts vs nuts flush river as well. Both pots made opponent very strong. I managed to grind my way back, played very solid for most of the game, actually pretty happy how it went. Manage to get back strong and lead about 20ish hands before the end. And I lost the HU due to losing with QQ vs AJs pre flop.
Of course, variance is brutal in 1.5 hours of play and I am happy with my play but it hurts especially when I saw myself going through and dominating for whole match. Also opponent in my opinion was one of the easiest ones that I encountered and I am sad that I didn't go through cause I had so much edge, but you can't do anything when you loose QQ vs AJs and opponent gets 2 great setups post flop in his favor.

Here is the graph for our match. GL to chokata in semi finals.

aww what a pity! Next time we'll make it a mandatory 10h grind to overcome the variance :f_cool:

Haha nice one Sven :) 10 hours works for me and I am sure a lot of other players would go for it who understand variance in such low sample. However most people in my opinion would want to just play 1-2 hours, get in and get out make it somewhat fast and enjoyable for them. I think this format is OK but for best of 8 or better maybe increase to 500 hands or 1k hands as minimum would be even better so that there is space for strategy to come to life more.

I agree with you about other projects. Now I have so much energy and drive to keep pushing with 6 max and to become better player. Made contact with some HU crushers and potentially I can look into that area of my game to play some other sites if I want to go for 200$ hourly later on

Day 5

Quarter Finals of HU Championship 1.5 hours
Grinding online CG 2.33 hours 2211 hands
Studying CG 3 hours
Coffee with best friend
Meet with another friend who is in Belgrade now
Walked over 2.5km today - partial work out, nowhere near actual CrossFit
Talked with family and friends

Total 6.88 hours of Poker activities.

Productive day today.
You already read about HU Championship and how it all went. It left a sting and it hurts when you loose and you feel you are better player, but this is reality in poker. Still it is hard to deal with this especially in HU. I aplaude to HU crushers who have rock solid mindset to sustain those swings vs weaker players aka entitlement tilt, it happens literally every day in HU :)
Grinding today was not good at all. I made a lot of mistakes and over plays. When I say a lot I mean like 5 hands that are overplayed or misplayed. It is huge and days like today should not happen. On the other hand I have to factor in what I am doing in reality - 4 tabling, rushing, trying to improve my auto pilot to the point of absolutely printing money and crushing NL50, pushing myself to make decisions ASAP to find and fix leaks in general game plan. In this whole process I am also improving and experimenting/testing new approaches and advanced +EV plays. So when all is put together, I can expect nothing but tons of days and swings like today. This is why I have put aside for NL50 ZOOM 50 buy ins even tough realistically I would say that 30 buy ins is more than enough but I am taking much more conservative BRM not to feel any money pressure and to basically play it without any stress. Decided to apply this from today since I cashed in 1.6k bonus and left on account 2.5k for NL50 ZOOm. Will write in future how that affects my mindset.
Positive thing about poker today was definitely working on the game. Close to 2 hours I worked on the game with brutal reg where we went back and forth on certain strategy spots and hands. Always trully inspiring to talk to him and get advice/help from him. He manages to spark my motivation always to keep pushing and improving. The rest of the time I worked on my own by reviewing hands from today and doing in depth hand analyses (today 6 of them analyzed!).
Other life things went really well and I am very happy that besides all the poker activities I managed to balance out social activities and even maintain physical activity.

Plan for tomorrow is to grind 4 hours, study 2 hours, in the evening SNG webinar, continue to eat healthy, sleep and rest well through out the day.
