Well.
I should probably write this thing somewhere at the beginning, but, as I said, I was too lazy.
I'm 24 at the moment. I'm from Poland, currently living in the UK (surprise, surprise). Got MA in English literature and couple of other useless papers. Oh yes, I'm a football referee as well.
Shame on me, but I think it's... shame that brought me here. I think I'm a patriot not supporting Polish economy and all those ...ers in the government. I also think that the UK, and England particularly was somehow waiting for me since the day I was born. I was always more about things that were going on in England than in Poland. I was more interested in new Queen's dress than presidential election in my country, let's say. Actually the more I was into the politics in Poland recently, the less I wanted to go further, so I gave it up. I graduated from the university as quick as I only could and retreated. Yes, it's shame that brought me here. If you say Poles are like a plague, I'll be the first one to support you, cause I actually didn't come here after pounds. This is rather unfortunate that all lives of Polish let's-say-young&educated&intelligent abroad is marked by shame, though. Damn, only now I know where are those stereotypes come from. I feel embarassed when I meet or hear about those ones that came here several years ago and ruined our reputation.
Perhaps it's not the best place to speak about such things, but I kinda feel it should be here, as it was also on Polish community (along with a nice discussion, I have to admit).
A few words about refereeing.
In Poland there is a whole system. There are mentors. Exams (stamina and theoretical). Classes. Workshops. Meetings with authorities. Monitoring system. System of quick promotions for young&talented. Oh yes, and a salary - you can alsmot make a living out of it at lowest levels.
I came here 10 months ago, and...? Nothing. No one cares. Literally, nothing is going on. And the level of referees is absolutely DRA-MA-TIC. My question is, was I unlucky, or it's all the same everywhere and it's not a coincidence that there is Webb, Clattenburg, Atkinson and that's pretty much it? (not mentioning the fact that they all have their age)

Not many tourneys run daily, unfortunately, you could make some good money out of it. I'm trying hard to change it a bit, we'll see how it goes. I'm glad that you gave it a try, keep rockin'!
I didn't participate in that promo, had many things to do at that time, including PokerStars Sofia event and some interviews, but as far as I know, the promo affected microstakes more than any other stakes, so I think I wouldn't take part anyway. I'm not very proud of it, but I find it difficult to play for a few bucks 
Sofia coverage already there, interview with one of the best 5 card drawers already there, contest tomorrow!
That will be fun most likely.
