Hi Guys,

I gad a break in playing poker, I was never very successful due to lack of focus and bankroll management.. i want to give it one more chance before calling it quits.... Can you please help me to choose the right poker room for me?

1. Which game type you play? (No limit? Sit & Go? MTT? PLO, Fixed Limit, Other?) Sit&Go; MTT & freerolls

2. Which limit do you play? (example: NL25, SNG $11, FL .50/1) whatever my bankroll of ~$200 allows me (plus any bonus i might get from the deposit)

3. Short handed or full ring tables, or even Heads-Up? full ring, I feel better playing with deep stack

4. How much do you play? (e.g. I play 3 hours a week, or I generate $1000 rake/month) Planning to play 2-3 hours a day.

5. How many tables do you want to play? 2-4, more if I will feel comfortable

6. What are your goals for the next 3+ months? build bank roll or die trying

7. What time zone are you in and what times do you play? UK time will be playing evenings nights.

8. Which rooms do you already hold accounts at? PokerStars, FullTilt, william hill... and a few more I don't rememeber

I always liked software used by pokers tars and full tilt....

Please help :-)

Thanks
Mancuss

Hey mancuss,

Your best option may be another iPoker skin. You would already know if the traffic was adequate for your game types. Unfortunately MicroGaming and Ongame networks don't have a lot of SnG traffic and what they do is generally short handed. There also isn't a great range of MTTs but the fields are smaller and fishier and it's easier to run deeper.

PKR is a bit iffy. They do have $1.50 FR SnGs (PKR have 10 player tables) running regularly when I checked but even though they keep adjusting and improving their MTT schedule, it is still pretty ordinary. There are however plenty of freerolls and PKR points MTTs.

888 is abetter option. They actually have a very good MTT schedule (2nd only to Stars imho) and they also have plenty of freerolls. They have much better traffic in SnGs although they have a lot of different game types as per screenshot:

They don't have a particularly good VIP system so if clearing as much of a FDB as you can or and/or a better VIP system is important then another iPoker skin may be better.

If clearing the FDB and the loyalty system aren't that important then 888 would certainly be a good option. Plus it's a fun place to play.

Laz

Hey rewfrew,

PKR has some nice traffic for the number of tables you are looking to play. They currently have 15 tables of NL2, 10 of NL4 and 10 of NL10 running at 6-Max. There is also a couple of FR tables running at NL2 and NL10.

The downsides are if you are using PokerTracker, PKR is not supported and I'm not sure how good HM2 is as PKR actively discourages the use of tracking software as part of their fish-friendly policy. There is also no fast fold poker or a particularly good loyalty system. There is however, plenty of fish to feed on. _evil:

Unfortunately as a UK player, you won't have access to PokerHeaven as they have reasonable traffic at regular tables but Blaze (fast fold) only has about 20 players at NL2 and nothing running higher atm.

Another option is to go with another iPoker skin. They have a 200% FDB, a better loyalty system than PKR and a good conversion rate for earning SPs.

Regards

Laz

I need help in getting the best offer online. I want a site that accepts 3rd party software ( HM2 to be precise), 100%+ deposit bonus and I would also like some rake back.

1) I only play No limit Cash games, SnG and MTT.
2) Cash Games from nl10- to 50nl and MTT from 1$-10$
3) 6-max and full ring
4) 12-16 hours per week
5) I play up to 4 tables at the same time
6) My goals in the next 3 months is to move up to 100nl and to make a monthly income
7) 2+ GMT. I don’t have a certain time to play
8) 888, PS, PP, Titan, Winner…to name a few

Hey rewfrew,

Nice to see you moving up through the limits.:f_thumbsup: As you already have a pokerstars and an iPoker (Winner) account, this narrows down the options to Full Tilt or another iPoker skin.

iPoker skins have a better FDB and probably a better reward system for a high volume grinder. I won't post a screenshot from iPoker as you know the traffic yourself. This screenie at FT was taken about 22:00 GMT on a Monday night.

If there are any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask

Hey TheAlertOne,

If you don't mind soft small field MTTs and are happy on regular tables, then a MicroGaming skin (PokerHeaven or 24hBet) may be what you need. You can get a 200% FDB plus lifetime 30% rakeback.

There is also the option of taking another iPoker skin as they offer 200% FDB as well but varying levels of rewards (William Hill is probably the best option with up to 32% RB atm).

You could also consider Full Tilt. They only have a 100% FDB and no rakeback, although you can cash FullTilt points in for cash.

If you require any further information, then please let us know.

Regards

Laz

ty, but how about disconnection, and losing big pots after disconnection?
and we said that the micro at ipoker are full invested of regs who play for rakeback. more regs infested than pokerstars, with more rake.

Just a quick question - I'm not allowed to play on Stars/FTP and I'm interested in playing mixed games. I'd like to learn Stud, and the 2-7 variants.

I'm currently playing on iPoker but it doesn't seem like there's much traffic outside of NL/PLO. Hell, there's barely any of that. Any suggestions for where to play non-Hold'em games?

Hey MJP,

Unfortunately the cupboard is a little bare outside Stars/Tilt. MPN (24hBet and PokerHeaven) spread FL 7 CardStud and NL 5 Card Stud but the traffic is non existent at cash and not much better at MTTs as per screenshot below.

888 has 1 x 7 Card Stud table running and 1 guy sitting at a 7 Card Stud8 table and they don't provide any MTTs .

Laz

2. Which limit do you play? (example: NL25, SNG $11, FL .50/1) - NL2 - Aiming to get to the next level - NL4/NL5

3. Short handed or full ring tables, or even Heads-Up? - Cash FR Only

4. How much do you play? (e.g. I play 3 hours a week, or I generate $1000 rake/month) - 2K Hands daily - Average

5. How many tables do you want to play? - 6 at once

6. What are your goals for the next 3+ months? - To break out of NL2

7. What time zone are you in and what times do you play? - GMT +1 - 0900 - 1159 - Not all day, when ever I want between those times- Mon - Sun

What I'm looking for is a room offering smallest Full Ring micro stakes games(NL2, NL4, NL5, NL10), with good traffic amounts and one where I can take advantage of Pokestrategy's fantastic offers through tracked status and earn strategy points to increase my training statues from basic member upwards. Also any free money would be fantastic.

Hey KingHouse,

Finding FR cash tables is pretty difficult outside of Stars and 888. iPoker and MicroGaming skins tend to be full of 6-Max (mainly fast fold).

I would suggest 888 but I fear you may already be there.
