The game of Texas Hold’em is actually very easy to understand.

As a boy the uncles would play 5 card draw: deuces and one eyed jacks were wild
There were extra rules like if 5 Aces were split 2 ways the hand with the most natural cards won :-) !

Hi, LyToLV

My opinion is that beginners should start with cash games, then move to SNGs to see if you like them or not. MTTs pay well, but have a small chance of success until you get reasonably good at putting players on ranges.

Freerolls, of course are good practice. Play all you can!

There is a strategy article specifically on how to play freerolls.

Enjoy,

Hi, LyToLV,
Yes, by "cash games" I mean "ring games"

In other words -- "not tournaments"

Hi, LyToLV,
I don't know about Sidekick -- I don't use it.
I use Equilab a fair bit to see if I *really* had the equity I though I did when I made that bet that lost _cry:

I use both Pokertracker 4 and HoldemManager 2 for NLHE play, and I use yet another tracker for 5-Card Draw and other variants.

These aren't much help for learning how to play poker, but they do provide feedback on how well you're learning it _biggrin:

Cheers,

Hi LyToLV,

in all seriousness, you shouldn't worry too much about the board runout. This is all down to luck, and there is nothing you can do about it. All you should care about is how you play your own hand - nothing more, nothing less. Keep in mind that both you and your opponent's will get your fair share of good hands in the long run.

In the end, this is what being successful at poker is all about. Not getting better hands than your opponents, but playing them in a better way than they do.

Hey StabaSvk,

You have landed on the English site. You are quite welcome to stay but all discussion must be in English. If this is not possible, the I would suggest you check out our Czech site.
