PokerStars - $0.05 PL Hi FAST (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 113.6 BB (VPIP: 19.33, PFR: 14.67, 3Bet Preflop: 11.29, Hands: 155)
Hero (SB): 158 BB
BB: 499.8 BB (VPIP: 20.24, PFR: 12.83, 3Bet Preflop: 3.47, Hands: 512)
UTG: 284.2 BB (VPIP: 28.87, PFR: 15.46, 3Bet Preflop: 5.56, Hands: 100)
MP: 106.4 BB (VPIP: 22.22, PFR: 11.11, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 10)
CO: 70.4 BB (VPIP: 28.57, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 23)

Hero posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has J♣ 3♣ 2♦ J♠

fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to 3.4 BB, Hero calls 3 BB, fold

Flop: (7.8 BB, 2 players) 9♥ J♥ 6♦
Hero checks, BTN bets 3.6 BB, Hero raises to 18.2 BB, BTN calls 14.6 BB

Turn: (44.2 BB, 2 players) 8♣

V also has a very tight stealingrange. So I just play for Setvalue and call.
Since V cbets a lot I decide to c/r or stab a blank Turn, since I don't want to show my handstrength against a good player OOP without getting in a big chunk of my stack.
The turn hits his range very hard.
Which line do u prefere, c/c with the right odds or bet it against the part of his range which is still behind and call of the push, because we gave us the odds?
Doing the math:
I gave him a cbet/call - range of NFDs, QTxx, 3- card-rds with T7xx an max 1gap and 66 in his 20% stealingrange.
Against that Range, that is like 50% NFDs and 50% Straight, I would prefere a b/c, I can not play c/c profitable OOP. How would I now he is betting his pure NFDs? And if he just calls, there is a river to play, which is much easier then if I play the passiv line on the turn.

What do u think?

Bet fold to a raise, b/call brick on river, x back river if called turn.

He cannot bet fold with such stacks and pot size. If he bets, it needs to be big and then he gets odds to call villain's shove.

He cannot x back anything OTR when not in position.

Turn, since I don't want to show my handstrength against a good player OOP without getting in a big chunk of my stack.

Yet this is exactly what you did OTF, in spot where 28/45 turn cards will change nuts to straight or flush (62%) :f_biggrin: Hand preflop is very poor and only top-set will make you happy, and now when you hit it it's still a tricky spot. Big enough draws are safely ahead of your hand here, and can call your pot bet on the turn even when not hitting straight with this card and then you need to play river too 50bb behind to 225bb pot.

I would most probably fold pre such a dry JJ out of position against tight opponent. OTT is impossible spot, everything he called you on the flop have right odds to call your bet or have you crushed, so unlikely he will have some bare NFD without straight-outs. If he just calls or you decide to check/call or he check-backs, there is still a shit-ton of rivers you don't like to see :f_cool:

That part of the sentence described why I wanted to check and bring the action to the turn when he checks back otf. ;)
A fault by me, not writing the sentence clear enough. :)

But I still like the fact that u mentioned:

I aggree, this hand is near trash. Lets assume it is JJ44ds.
Then you/me/we must find a solution here. One can not just say, it is an impossible spot and leave it alone.
How will you ever be able to beat PLO50+ otherwise. :f_biggrin:

I think a good way is to c/c otf and see what the turn brings. Now on this turn I would check again. If V bets to big to call, I would fold, since the SPR to big and the river is still to play, OOP. Otherwise I would call and play the river a similar way. If it pairs, I just donk.

What do u think?

Double-suited double pair I'd 3bet SB vs BTN, even when pairs are so unconnected as J4's. Against EP nitty I would like to call though.

If you check/call flop instead of check-raising, I would check-call turn gladly since villain can bet for value/semibluff/bluff with worse; 2 pairs, overpair+draw, blockers (and give-up bluffs when you seem stubborn / check back with worse showdownvalue hand) or we can hit FH.

If you're planning to c/c flop and you aren't worried about getting raised off your equity, a flop lead might be good here - with the plan to get it in vs a raise.

Thats an acceptable play, I think. Here I just wanted to use the fact that V cbets wide for more EV.
BUt against so who has a optimal cbettingline, a donk is better, depending on your overall donkingrange.
