Hello Weasel,
This may seem like a dumb question, but i was wondering how exactly the preflop charts are created (ORC, CC, 3bet)? Is it something like taking a look in a huge database and choosing hands that made $ or ?
Thank you !

i think only the ORC is made by looking at a huge database. CC and 3bet are about pot odds and equity vs certain handranges.
will bet intresting to see what w34z3l has to say
Hey w34z3l,
thx 4 answering my questions.
At the moment i really study your redline rampage series and it feels like its really working :-)
keep up the good work !

I checked out a few different sources as a guide, but mostly it's just a result of experience, playing millions of hands etc. So it's more logic and experience as opposed to empirical analysis or GTO calcs. But some of the ranges I consulted when constructing my own were based on the latter 2 things. For eg I checked out Jandas ranges at some point which are based on GTO calcs.

Hi w34z3l
here is my HUD leave some comments if possible 10x
.
BTW i think BTN fold vs CO steal is very useful stats on NL25 and below by personal experience most of the players on NL2/NL5 are with BTN fold vs CO steal over 85-90%.Basicly most of the time you can act like you are on the button without any big worries.
well apart off that i hate your open strategy was a prety good coach ![]()
questions right now i dont have but i will get back on the duds that i will have this week on the tables

nl10 player pool is pretty weak so I can get away with doing that. 50nl+ I will use the same open-raising sizing from all positions.
How to construct isolation ranges ?
Should we consider our hand equity vs villain range or there are other much more important things like:
:heart:considering villain's range
:heart:considering nut potiential (sets, straights,flushes)
:heart:considering playability (high card, connectivity, suitedness)
:heart:considering position
:heart:considering initiative
:heart:considering opponent level of aggression
:heart:considering skill edge
What do you think about this next example? What looks wrong here?
50/5 (loose - passive player)
-consider villain's range because we can play wider than his range IP and tighter OOP
-don't consider nut potential bc we don't have fold equity when we flop a draw and we can not bloat the pot before we hit a set
-consider playability and select hands with raw equity bc suited connectors go low in value and high card hands go up in value.
-consider position because we can play wider IP bc we realize more equity and we can leverage position to win big and lose small
-do not consider initiative because we can not use our initiative to steal postflop
-consider level of aggression because he is passive and we can play a wider range
-consider skill edge because we will win big pots and lose small pots so we can play a wider range

Hello Weasel,
during yesterday coaching (great as always) you talked about raising flop. I have one hand from this week I´m not sure about raising or not - I´m in general often lost in these spots
Villain is pretty agro fish playing 48/28 on 900 hand sample. He´s not total agro monkey postflop but he´s definitely much more aggresive than average micro reg and is able to raise as a bluff. But I would have the same problem against more aggresive regs.
On the flop I´ve had a though time since I feel there are plenty hands is villain´s range I have value from and I need protection but there are also good amout of hands which beat me. So I had no idea if I can raise because after 3bet I would be really sad with my hand.
Maybe I could more incline to raise here because villain bet 1/2 pot on such a wet board which can be a sizing tell I guess.

to bonecore: not sure if it´s OK but I´m definetely not comfortable to isoraise such a wide range OOP even vs this type of player but maybe it´s my leak. I prefer to complete and play small pot postflop with weaker hands in your range.
To your points to construct range vs this villain - I guess you suppose we don´t have fold equity and I think it´s not accurate. This is very villain dependent. Yesterday I had a position on big fish who was folding vs flop cbet 20 % IP and 80 % OOP. And it´s quite normal than even fish fold more than 50 % to flop cbet. They often fold similar % of time to 1/2 and 2/3 cbet. Also nuts potential is good to consider very often since is nice to dominate opponent´s flushes, straights...
When I´m thinking about isolation, I always look to villain: limp/fold and fold F (or other streets) vs cbet IP/OOP, then his VPIP vs RFI (difference if he play 40/5 or 40/20). How he react vs missed cbet? And what is a chance that someone behind me enter to the hand - with several loose pasive stations behind it´s nice to overcall our speculative hands.
My game BB vs SB limp is more aggresive than in other positions, often I isolate very wide range and fire almost every flop even vs unknown. Usually I don´t care a lot about my equity here. Ofcourse it´s difference if I know that villain doesn´t fold enough often or I hit a hand which is great to x/b F for some reason.
sign me up! also video request for these two topics
- flop x/r strategy & ranges (BBvCO/BTN)
- facing a SQ, ranges & postflop
I'm winning 3bb/100 @ 25nl but loosing sooo hard in SQ pots as caller think i'd be close to move to 50nl if i fixed SQ spots
thanks!
