was tired so decided to mess a bit in nl10. worst fucking session of my life, literally never seen a run this bad before

Spoiler

could it be that zoom10, the limit that i once beat for over 10 BB/100 over 100k hands, is now tougher than zoom50? :f_eek:
this is just a friendly reminder that the variance in this game can be pretty sick kids

also obviously "happy" to run bad at the "right limit" :f_rolleyes: this month is still on the + pre-rb

grinding some nl10 because i can't live with being a 40 BB/100 loser in there

yeah guys, i am very sad to announce that i am completely unable to beat nl10. these guys are too fucking good

on the other hand nl50 is too easy

Spoiler

you have no idea how fucking mad i am with dropping 9 BI at nl10 though. it's like they say, the pain of losing greatly offsets the joy of winning
have to start folding weak hands such as AK and QQ on blind wars despite playing 30 VPIP, it's like i tell others, no one gives a fuck

thanks man :f_biggrin: sorry for not putting up any entertaining posts, it's just how i am rolling atm.

regarding supernova this year...
in theory, if i gave it a good effort nearly every single day, i could definitely make it. in practice, i don't want to give it that much effort, i don't have mental energy for so many months and it would drive me insane when the bad run hits.
so well, that might be a give up... just might.

if i wanna make it, i have two options - get so good that i can profitably grind nl50 in my sleep (some of the last sessions show that this isn't the case, despite rungood saving the day) or getting so good that i can grind nl100.
of course, that's not completely out of the question :f_biggrin: so let's see where the next months take me.

on a completely unrelated note, let's take a minute to lament over the death of 9max nl100 zoom. :f_cry:
i wished i could take revenge on it, but now it's never going to happen. :(

i guess i should do a small writeup, it's been way too long :f_biggrin:

as an university student with a rather lazy personality and modest lifestyle, i found out i didn't have enough energy to try to go pro and keep going up the stakes.
during the time i played stars sh50 zoom i got like a 1.4BB/100 winrate pre-rakeback, which is "okay", but with such a low winrate (and the amounts of money involved for uni student standards) playing was very stressful, despite being obviously +EV and all.

so well, i'll most likely be playing nl25- for the near future, probably mostly nl10. i can easily win most sessions and it's not stressful :f_biggrin: it's about lifeEV here

Nice blog, although I get tilted just from looking the way you play and then posting gif to indicate you're totally disrespecting your opponents. Like the ones in 5nl, if it was agains't me I'd lose my shit if I saw you posting the hand on ps. And the way you play sometimes make me want to go back to loosey wsop aggresive style play like this one:

PokerStars - $0.50 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 109.9 BB
Hero (SB): 116.3 BB
BB: 109.22 BB
UTG: 155.92 BB
MP: 78.36 BB
CO: 116.2 BB

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has T♦ K♦

fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 2.68 BB, BB raises to 8.5 BB, Hero calls 5.82 BB

Flop: (17 BB, 2 players) A♣ 5♥ 9♦
Hero checks, BB bets 8.5 BB, Hero calls 8.5 BB

Turn: (34 BB, 2 players) T♣
Hero checks, BB checks

River: (34 BB, 2 players) 9♥
Hero bets 2 BB, fold

Hero wins 32.48 BB

Why call on the flop with an A on it if the bb 3bets pf?!?!?!?!?!

Hi Tomaloc, your blog looks nice and entertaining. I have to drop by more often :)

@MajesticOdds

I can answer this one for you.
BB's 3betting range is very wide and over 50% of that doesn't contain an ace. We also have BDFD and BDSD. Folding would be weak and exploitable.

yeah, you have a point. i won't argue that it's not disrespectful (because it is)... there is none of that "politically correct" garbage here, i tend to be very honest with my thoughts. however:
- i never intend to insult the character of these players, just "disrespect" their poker skill. of course individual plays could always be a result of tilt or something (no one is above that), and it's likely that some of these guys are successful in things i can only dream of
- from that it follows that anyone is free to bash my plays, though then it's nice to present your arguments so that i (and everyone else) can take it seriously
- there are no usernames when converting hand histories, so it's not like it's public shaming. only those who were in the hand actually can know who were the players involved

yeah that's a fairly good explanation, poker is hard
folding isn't super terrible of course, but i believe calling is slightly better and i probably had some info

I kinda exagerrated when I said you're totally disrespecting your opponents though, I'm actually way worse sometimes I even scare myself so you're really decent compared to me on tilt.

Keep up those graphs and gif bro

nevermind just one more. this is a super unorthodox line but i believe it has the over 2/3 success rate required, at least at low limits and if you don't have an image...
i think he might be pot controlling an overpair and well, the line does look like bs, but why call a nearly 2x pot overbet when you lose to so many hands and the turn tank might easily be a slowplay? wait for a better spot obviously

just realized there's this microstakes challenge thing going on and even though i really don't care about getting the prizes, well, why not join it. the optimal strategy is obviously to play nl2 on like 888poker or something, but i'll play stars zoom sh10 and sh5.

streaming with no cam no mic most likely so no reason to watch
