Some heat today at last!

Yes I know, I said I wasn't going to play but the Mrs decided last minute to take our eldest daughter to the cinema in the afternoon. So myself and the little lady ate some lunch and I put her to bed for her nap. I watched the meditation video by Eric Stenqvist per Tony's suggestion and once concluded I fired up a session.

Things were going pretty normally until I hit a hot patch somewhere in the middle and then everything started going right! Ended up with 4 games ITM busting the first two 17th and 11th.

Two final tables were polar opposites. First one I entered with 100K and a massive chiplead. The other I had 5BB and was 9th. In the end of both I finished 2nd. I was horribly unlucky in the first. Losing AK to KJ FTW. In the other, I had a mountain to climb HU and I didn't even get close!

$124 in the green today - badly needed!

College

I mentioned briefly last week that I was thrown a complete game changer when my boss offered me the opportunity to go back to college part time and study a degree in Retail Management Practice. After looking through it and speaking with my wife and family I have decided to grasp the opportunity and I will return to college after 10 years in early September.

As I've said it's only part time - I have 10 days before Christmas and 9 days after including examinations. I'm not really sure what to expect. It's strange thinking about going back to education after a long gap. Things have changed quite considerably since I was last there - I'm married, have 2 kids and I suppose a purpose to see over the finishing line!

Interesting times ahead...

Poker

This weekend I hope to play tonight (30 games) and then tomorrow (30 games) and I'll have finished pack 3 of my current stake. I am spot on break-even in that at the moment and let's hope I can turn some profit in the last portion of the stake.

When I was 26 I went back to university for teacher certification. It was full time September to April.
I had a wife and 3 kids by then. To pay the bills I drove cab evenings and weekends.

Week in review:

August seems to be flying by and I cannot believe I am here typing another review so bloody quickly!

This week was massive for volume and I broke my personal best by 1 game! It would/could have been by a lot more but for some extenuating circumstances both Friday and yesterday but I'm not really bothered about breaking records. It's more about playing and playing well.

I turned a profit this week although in the end it was merely a few dollars ($8.08 to be exact) but after the first few weeks of the month it's nice to be in the green for a change! I'm still not running all that great (especially HU where I already mentioned I lost a 60/40 and 75/25 that would have given me $80 extra but it's part and parcel of the game. I guess all I can do now is keep plugging away and hope that things improve.

One last week left in the month and a mountain of climb if I'm going to end in profit. I'll be happy though if I can get some of the $320 back!

Also, I'll be making my debut in the HUSNG Championship this week after receiving two byes in Round 1 and Round 2. Hopefully, we can arrange to play on a day off so it doesn't interfere with my planned schedule!

I decided to take yesterday off completely! The only poker related thing I managed all day was creating this staking application for some MTTs next Sunday week.

Looking forward to playing this as I've never played a WCOOP tournament before (at least I cannot remember anyways) The Sunday tournaments during WCOOP will be full of fun players so hopefully with a bit of luck a few deep runs are possible

Think twice. I did play a WCOOP event and hated the process (would hate it even more if I had to make excuses to any backers).

Was just looking for this chick i used to see hanging round here hollymichelle smth?? someone pointed me here, you know her? cheers for any help

I've been meaning to Skype you lately as I've seen you pwning the 180s!

Hope things are going well and gl in college!

So today was my first day of college.

Obviously it was very strange being back in a classroom after 10 years. Highly enjoyable first day all the same but wouldn't have expected it to be otherwise. There will be a lot of hard work ahead. A lot of work that I will have to do on my own so I can imagine poker taking a huge hit over the coming months as I don't have much spare time anyways.

I haven't played a 180 in over a week and I cannot forsee me playing any for the next while. All momentum lost!
