Thank you for your input guys :f_drink:

I wanted to avoid Stars because the variance there is huge and I wanted to focus on smaller field tournaments.
Last week I failed big time! I got excited probably because of the MicroMillions:f_biggrin: and played 42 MTTS (just on Stars) and obviously each tourney had at least 1k+ players. I had some ITMs but nothing interesting.
I also took a shot for two $11 tourneys but it didn't go very well.

The good tourneys start in the afternoon and I'm afraid I can never make it so early as my wife had a surgery a couple of weeks ago and I gotta look after the kids (take them to the kindergarten before 8am and collect them around 3pm + get them to bed in the evening) and I of course try to work between those hours (fortunately it ain't so busy during summer holidays). :f_biggrin: Because of that my session doesn't start until after 9pm and if I join a tourney after 10pm and manage to get deep, then I don't go to bed before 3am. :f_biggrin:

I hit one FT and one semi FT on Monday this week but it was only 6th place in €500 Gtd and I finished BE.
I played 22 tourneys yesterday but I couldn't win a monkey apart from 25. place where I got kicked out after 5 hours of playing. :f_biggrin:

Hi, husky333,
The bold section caught my eye. You have to get those out of the way -- they're going to happen.

My wish for you is that when they do, you lose less than the max. _drink:

As for bad beats, I've decided I like these. Again, you need to get them out of the way, but a bad beat does two things.
:diamond:  It identifies a player who plays substandard hands. Be sure you take notes.
:diamond:  It creates in the bad player a false sense of confidence, and an inflated view of his own ability.

Best of luck,
VS

Hi VorpalF2F,

You are absolutely right!

I certainly know I shouldn't be paying attention to such situations as running into AA or bad beats,
but I occasionally do. I'm gonna have to work on that.

Fortunately I do not have a problem with tilt and so I can concentrate on other tables without any interruption....I just swear a little bit.
Actually there is one thing that puts me on tilt, it is the internet connection or low memory problems.

Hey szapyka86 and thank you. I appreciate it mate!

I know I should be contributing more in this blog but there is actually not much to say. I haven't been studying for ages. I've renewed ICMizer for another year a couple of weeks ago but I have not actually used it at all. Shame on me! There are loads of marked hands I wasn't sure whether I played them correctly and I would like to review them all.
I would also like to check spots where I could have raised but folded instead as I have been playing like a NIT recently :f_biggrin:

I will take break from grinding tonight and will do hands review. Oh I just remembered that our bowling league starts this evening so I won't get home until after 10:30 pm

Goal for 2nite:
- Hand review at least 1 hour (23pm - 00:30am +)

Failed
I got home from bowling and had loads of enquirers from customers so I had to deal with them. Next day (Tuesday) I played another bowling (different league) and I was so knackered when I got home so I went to bed straight away.

I am gonna have to leave the hand review for the weekend

I've played 21 MTTs 2nite and I had a really good run in few tourneys where I was in the top 10, but I got beaten badly quite a few times

This hand below really hurts...final table last 5 players:

I have a new love! :f_love:

A couple of days ago I treated myself and purchased a new little monster laptop.

Proccesor: Intel Core i7 (3.60 Ghz)
RAM: 16 GB DDR3
Hard Drive: 256 GB SSD
Graphic card: nVidia GeForce GTX 960M 4GB
Display: 15,6''UHD LED (3 840 x 2 160), IPS panel (slim)

My old laptop Core i3, RAM 4GB couldn't cope with so much memory usage. When I wanted to grind I had to close all apps and the memory usage was still above 90%. When I played on more than 4 poker clients, the memory was often reaching 99% and making me tilt coz all the tables were freezing out :f_biggrin:
I set up only one poker room and played 1 session yesterday to test the new monster out. I was so surprised as I didn't close any app running, there were even more apps running than usually and the memory usage didn't even reach 50% :f_thumbsup:
I didn't have to restart the bloody iPoker client every break. I used to do that with the old notebook as sometime, when I forgot to restart, all the tables froze out and I eventually had to restart the client and lost some chips (interesting hads).
Not only I played in peace yesterday but the positive variance was on my side too :f_biggrin:

I love my SSD drive.
Powers up ready to go in < 10 sec
Another 10 after login to be ready to play.

I'm jealous of your 16GB Ram.
I have 8 -- which is 4x my previous machine, but I want MOAAWRRRR!

ENJOY,
VS

i use a desktop , but i dont understand why people buy 15.6 and not 17.3

that laptop is so high tech , with that kind of money you could afford not only 17'3 touch but also 1920x 1080 fhd (instead of regular 1600x900)

15" or 17" it doesn't matter as both screens are too small. The point here is to get two large monitors. These days you can use 2 or even 3 external monitors as a large desktop.
My old laptop screen is 17.2" and I liked it very much. Believe me if there was 17" screen available and the same configurations I would definitely go for it but I am afraid there was no such an option.
I currently have 22" external monitor and I grind only on that monitor, I can put 12 tiled tables on it. I use the laptop screen for poker client, PT4 etc.
28" screen would be nice...I am definitely gonna get one by the of the year :f_biggrin:

Week 25
Tourneys: 79
Tourneys Total: 2345
Profit: +348.46
Starting BR: $500
Current BR: $2563.50

Spoiler

It took me 25 weeks and around 2100 MTTs (there were around 250 SnG)

I had a nice run last week where I hit 4 final tables (3 times 1st place and 3rd place once).
Whilst the beginning of the the week started very well, the Saturday was the worst. I played 24 MTTS and didn't get to the money at all!

Spoiler

Saturday wasn't any better (20 tourneys in a row with no ITM) but fortunately in one of them I managed to hit 1st place and cashed in 113 euros. :f_drink:
