Following your blog (also followed your streams, when you did them!), nice progress! I have one question though. I see you usually play 7-10k hands/week. Isn't that super low? You are Zoom player right? Even if you play 2 tables (cca 500 hands/hr), that is like 14-20 hours/week? Or am I getting my math wrong somewhere? If the numbers are right, you should consider focusing your force more on poker then on other things ♦
But anyway, keep it going, I'm following!
MJQ
Hello Majestic Quads! Thanks for the kind words, what are you currently nowadays?
Math is right (as always lol). Volume is weak over the last month or so. A combination of focusing on quality and wasting time in other areas.
I plan on fixing this by setting clear and measurable goals for each week. Good news is quality has been good and the rungood also continues. Another thing is me taking breaks at @ the 1h mark. More in the next post.
The muthafkin realll. Everything is good in my hood. I'm eating a lot of apples.
Got tired of being so hazy lately so I started taking shit more seriously again. Made a plan to give me a long term direction. Might as well share it here to make me more accountable. Having to report my progress where everyone sees it will make me feel shitty if I fall off.
Crushing NL1k in 20 months
Description - Beat NL1k by at least 3bb/100 over 200k hands by June 2017.
Plan
Finishing the level = 3bb/100 over 100k hands or 60BI for next limit Level 1. Beat z100 ($10k+ BR) / 1 month (Dec 2015) Level 2. Beat z200 ($30k+ BR) / 6 months (Jun 2016) Level 3. Beat z500 ($60k+ BR) / 8 months (Jan 2017) Level 4. Beat 1k NL 3bb/100 over 200k hands, reach $100.000 / 5 months (June 2017)
Not sure how realistic my plan is(hopefully done faster), but I'm keeping it real. Poker is really tough nowadays and I would be really happy to get it done in the established timeframe.
Current progress
Level 1
Decided to start the sample on the 1st of August (because that's when I started winning again lol). This is the progress until the end of Sept
Spoiler
After that I proceeded to play better and run like an Aesthetic God. Progress up till this date (12 oct).
Spoiler
I try my best to not get emotionally attached to short term results. Looks like I am on track towards shooting NL200zoom.
Plan is to first hit 100k hands on 100z, try to maintain >3bb/100 OR hit $12k BR at the end of next week. During this time, I will try really hard to play my best and improve as much as possible to get ready for 200zoom.
I tried shooting it for a bit ~2weeks ago and quit after ~40min of play. I quickly realized I didn't have an edge, seeing the fucking 500z regs all over the pool. Oh and lost 2BI's really fast. So I'm like fml, need to improve more.
I will have weekly goals to hit. Here they are for this week
Month 1, Week 2 goals Play spend 10h/day on poker 6 days/week (55 total) Play at least 2,5k hands/day (13,5k total) Focus Everyday avoid all other activities (esp watsapp/yt/fb/etc) at all cost until you finish putting the 10h+gym in (toughen up m8) Play 1h sessions, followed by timed 10 min breaks. Study Finish OR/Defend ranges for all preflop positions Work on at least a spot with PIO to break it down and take notes Analyze my short NL200 vid, writing down what I’m doing good/bad in my game Gym Hit the gym 4x Eat at least 3x + snack a day Make my first natty weight gainer
Weekly BR Challenge Report Played Hands: 10.849 Results: $435 Current BR: $11.339 17 weeks
Graph (will also start posting these, I guess ppl enjoy them)

Fml these things always take so long to write up. Which brings me to my next and final point. I've been thinking lately if it's worth it to keep this blog up (here, at least). I genuinely have absolutely no idea how many people read my blog and resonate with what I'm saying. Everyone who reads/ understands the concepts in my posts, just leave a reply saying 'potato' if you want me to keep this going.
have this acc from '09 and had to reset the password just to write this ♦ ... imo keep the jurnal live...it helps you a lot since it keeps you on track with the current goals and it's a healthy habbit to have
Seriously though, your blog is one of my favourited threads here and I find it very interesting and inspiring to read about your thoughts and attitude towards life. Thank you for writing and I hope you continue in the future.
when i find myself lost, i go back to the blog and read my goals and i have somethign to focus instead of just grinding.
Dont know if this happened to you... but i mean... do this blog for yourself mainly, and put it in a way to be ok for other people too.

This post is what i came for
-you play nl100 and you dont know defend ranges from all preflop positions ... i am working on that myself and it is a pain in the ass to learn
-dont know what PioSOLVER is but would like to know how to operate it
-analyse your vid, i would like to see that.
Potato!
Regarding your goals, do you include any cashouts in the calculations? Because taking poker that seriously most of the time means you also live from it...
Wow, looks like we have our very own potato party, pretty cool
Thanks for showing ur interest guys, looks like we're gonna continue this journey here. A few of u actually get what I'm saying.
@riseof - appreciate the trouble u went through to post, I will nominate you Potato King from hereon.
@kriko92 - yo it really means a lot, this is the effect I dream of having on people and it's one of my goals in life, to inspire people to lead better lives, by making it rain on hoes with dem dolla billz while I admire my aesthetic body in the mirror (too much? ok)
@SvenBe - for some reason I picture u being a baws, dunno why, maybe b/c of headadmin title, maybe because sven was so strong in dota... Yeah in my calculations I am excluding rakeback, which I will be using to pay for my living (been doing this for 2 years).
@alonohora - 2tomato4u, yes. I dig ur sig, did u read Zen mind, beginners mind by Shunryu Suzuki? One of the books that most influenced my life.

Will also start posting pics of girls from my motivation folder, hopefully u guys won't mind
Actually beautiful girls are a big part of my motivation in life, so why not share. This kind of girl is my favorite type, very cute face+big round ass = gg.
Aight, started sipping on my pre-bed protein shake, let's get into more serious sh1t. Like
Month 1, Week 2 goals review Play spend 10h/day on poker 6 days/week (55 total) Play at least 2,5k hands/day (13,5k total)
Spent 33/55h on poker. Causes
- bad scheduling (incl sleep schedule)
- Around 60% into the week failed to keep myself from distractions, fell off
Will experiment with going to bed (starting tomorrow) at 10PM, get up at 4AM.
Focus Everyday avoid all other activities (esp watsapp/yt/fb/etc) at all cost until you finish putting the 10h+gym in (toughen up m8) Play 1h sessions, followed by timed 10 min breaks.
First 2-3 days I performed very well in keeping it focused. Study Finish OR/Defend ranges for all preflop positions
Worked quite a bit on Preflop, some late position 3b ranges as well. Work on at least a spot with PIO to break it down and take notes Analyze my short NL200 vid, writing down what I’m doing good/bad in my game
Study was quite week this weak, mainly due to not putting in enough overall hrs. Gym Hit the gym 4x Eat at least 3x + snack a day Make my first natty weight gainer
Cleared beautifully. My identity is very heavily invested in the gym/health section, so it's very easy to unconsciously crush in these areas.
I would give this week a 6/10.
Weekly BR Challenge Report Played Hands: 9.462 Results: $723 Current BR: $12.062 18 weeks
RunGood continues. Will think of mixing up some 200z. I will try very hard to play well.
Month 1, Week 3 Goals Play spend 50hrs on poker no hands goal, full quality (shooting 200z) Focus avoid all other activities until poker and gym are done keep ~1h sessions with 10min breaks geared on resting the mind and being present Study work on alternating linear/polar 3b ranges IP work on better defending my linear 3b range GTO study on marked hands Record myself playing a sessh Gym 4x it (will be hard) Keep eating like a king (3+/day & shakes) Be amazed @ how shredded u are
Key Principle
I will not engage in any activity besides poker, eating, working out, timed breaks until they are done. No watsapp. No skype calls. No chatting with parents. No helping ppl in unimportant stuff. No walks to the mall after working out.
Ok, fml, enough for today, 7.12AM here, and I plan to start going to sleep at 10pm. Today (Monday) will be dedicated to this sole reason.
Yo yo
@nohara - tx for the vid will def check it out. for the Zen Mind, Beginners Mind -- audio version can be found on youtube, that's the one I prefer
@Lemon sup fellow baller, welcome to the Potato House Mafia.
woke up today, only played poker. Wouldn't go to bed at 10PM, not tired enough. So now it's 11.30PM, gonna get ready for bed - make a protein shake, meditate and go to bed. Tomorrow def want to sleep at 10PM
Cool songs with beautiful girls motivate me a lot. They remind me of the type of life I wanna have.
Done with poker for the day, put 7h40m in. Literally did not do anything else but poker, gym, eating and naps. So very satisfied with that.
Regarding the gym, it seems I already put on ~1kg which is cool, I've been focusing on taking in more calories to put on 5kg by the end of winter #bulkdeluxe.
On the mental side of things, I felt very out of place, out of line, out of time. Maybe because I did bad at 200z and that brought my mood down. Yeah, I've decided it's gonna be a while until I move up to 200z, have lots more improving to do.
I think it's that type of thing where your mind becomes discouraged from bad results (down 1.2k at 200z in 2 sessions), so it disengages.
Still, I should be really proud of myself I put the grind in even though def didn't feel like it. So, judging from the perspective of things under my control, I performed perfectly (no distractions, only gym and poker).
Def sucks to be affected so much by swings, always noticed that in myself. Oh well, still have 7more months to crush 200z, according to my plan.
