Tomorrow: CHAMP Camp! I decided to write an update before I leave.

I managed to play 43 hours in July, and I'm in a little profit, thanks to some bonuses, after I've been in -400$. Here's a graph:

Fortunately I will be away for 6 days, so I can relax, and use that time to gather insane motivation towards poker and life. I'm sure Champ Camp will give me power to face my cancer related fears and problems.
I want to share some thoughts about cancer: It might sound crazy or surprising, but overall I don't regret that I had cancer. I think about it as a good thing, probably the biggest life lesson I ever got. It made me more motivated, I'm less stressed by the little things or problems and care more about what's important: like friends and family. It made me want to help others: “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” ― Winston S. Churchill. The fear of cancer coming back is present every day, even in my dreams sometimes, but I'm sure that one day I will learn to get over it. It's important to live every single day like it's a gift and be grateful for it.

It's been a while since I didn't write to my blog. Quick summary: July/August were not so successful months, I won money, but not much, also volume was really low and I haven't improved my game at all.
At the end of August I realized, that I have to take poker more seriously and treat it like a pro. I'm up more then 500 USD in September, but I'm still behind on my volume goal. Also I haven't watched one single poker video, only reviewed my hands.

I will make the last days of September incredibly productive. Goals:
:diamond: Watch videos/ improve my game every day!
:diamond: Rest enough/train/eat healthy!
:diamond: 50 hours of poker (5 hours/day average)
:diamond: Maintain focus at the tables!

PS. My second check-up was also successful, there is no evidence of cancer in my body _biggrin:

September was a killer month so far. I've reached 10000$ with the Bankroll Challenge, profit in September is more then 1000$, improved a lot, reviewed every session and more importantly I'm very motivated for poker and life. My room is clean, my poker set-up is awesome, I eat healthy, rest enough, go out a lot and train almost every day. My next update will be with October goals, I want to make October an even more awesome and productive month.

In September I experienced how important is to plan every day, keep my room clean, always wash the dishes after eating and always make my bed after getting up. Doing this things made me more productive and gave me more energy to work. My motivation is huge, I know that if I keep going like this I am able to reach high success. _biggrin:

September Overview:

:diamond: OK Profit (1056$)
:diamond: Clean room => Higher productivity
:diamond: Pro mentality => Accepted bad runs easily
:diamond: Volume goal not completed(85 hours instead of 100)
:diamond: High motivation
:diamond: Sometimes not to focused during sessions => Stop browsing while playing
:diamond: Planned some days => Higher productivity

October goals:

:club: Review everything
:club: Treat poker even more seriously then in September
:club: Become GOLD on 888 (>100 Hours)
:club: Eat healthy/Exercise/Rest enough
:club: Watch at least 10 poker videos
:club: Make $$$
:club: Read one book/Go to marketing Weekend Seminar
:club: Keep a clean room!
:club: Plan every day

A little inspiration:

@fabio4711 - Thank you! _biggrin:

Update: October started badly in terms of profit and volume, but there is plenty of time to turn it around. It's interesting that losing/bad days motivate me even more to learn/improve and play, so I probably needed this bad start _biggrin:

@SvenBe - Good idea! _biggrin: I will try to post some hands from now on to make the blog more interesting.

Last time I updated I wasn't really in the mood of writing that's why it was so short. Good news is that I had some successful sessions and I'm in profit for October _drink:. Volume is still bad, but it's still possible to recover. _rolleyes:

New challenge: I recently saw this photo while wasting my time on Facebook: _grin:

I started searching on the internet about the topic and found out about some incredible benefits of cold showers:

:diamond: Builds up strong will power: Doing something you are so resistant to, every single day, right when you wake up, takes a lot of mental strength. And overtime, this mental strength and discipline will become an automated habit that echo’s into every area of your life.
:diamond: Improve emotional resilience
:diamond: They reduce stress
:diamond: Increase alertness: awesome before long poker sessions!
:diamond: They'll improve your skin and hair
:diamond: Stimulate weight loss
:diamond: Increase testosterone
:diamond: Boost fertility
:diamond: Improve circulation: This stimulation of the circulatory system is great for your overall cardiovascular health.
:diamond: Improve Immunity: Very important for me right now!
:diamond: They drain your lymphatic system: Again very important for me: less colds!
:diamond: Speed up muscle recovery
:diamond: Relieve depression
:diamond: They wake you up!

My goal right now is to shower only with cold water all month(already had two). I will update my progress. _biggrin:

EWWWWWWW - cold, like in cold-cold? So only open the cold tap? This would mean i would have 20 second showers...

To make it easier I start with warmish water, then gradually decrease the temperature. At the end of the shower it's on minimum. The truth is I haven't resisted to much on minimum, around 30-40 seconds. _grin: So far the benefits that I observed were: increased alertness and they do wake me up.

Cold showers are awesome. Pretty hard to do them during the winter, but the way i do them is that in the morning i do short excercise to little warm up my body and do cold shower almost right away.

In the evening i am usually tired and it is not recomended to do cold shower once u are tired or feeling sick so u can go with warm shower and switch just at the end of it to cold shower.

Wow, cold water wakes you up?

Interesting thing is that in the morning it realyl wakes u up, but in the evening it still refresh u but it prepares u for sleep as well.
Not sure why is that but it works for me that way...

I have my little Terminator (my dog) to wake me up - i prefer that over a cold shower!

as your info graphic shows, both hot and cold are good. I find ideally start with a hot shower and put it as high as possible then alternate between hot and cold for 30 second each a few times. I also do alternate sauna and cold shower. hot and cold therapy is good as it offers the best of both as well as helps for muscle recovery after exercise

@Afulibador - Thanks! I am glad you liked my blog! _biggrin: After almost a month of cold showers it's getting easier and easier even if it's very cold outside :))

Update: I just came home from Central European Regional Conference. I listened to some amazing motivational speakers and big leaders and I want to share some of their thoughts/quotes with you guys:
:diamond: "I don't believe in words, I believe in actions!"
:diamond: "It doesn't matter how many times you fail, it matters how many times you can stand up strong"
:diamond: "The point is to get a decision and get serious. It's just a decision that separated you from the life you want"
:diamond: "If you learn to handle people well, you will become a millionaire"
:diamond: Stop thinking: "I'm too young, I don't have an impact on other people"
:diamond: "Don't follow trends blindly! Be a lion, not a sheep!"
:diamond: "To achieve success the key factor is to have a vision, which you can focus on. If you don't have a vision life drives you!"
:diamond: "Stay with the eagles, if you want to fly with the eagles"
:diamond: "Stop spending time with people who consume your energy!"
:diamond: "Stop giving junk food to your mind(TV, gossip,...)"
:diamond: "You will never achieve your dreams, if you don't face your fears!"
:diamond: "Your comfort zone expands, if you get out of it"
:diamond: "Failure is our best teacher!"
:diamond: "The biggest enemy of success is success. Failure gives you humility and makes you grow."
:diamond: "Be your best supporter! Say affirmations in front of a mirror. Don't be the first who doubts yourself!"

The speeches were incredibly moving and powerful, I can't wait for the next Seminar(February 2016), already bought the tickets for it. _biggrin:

Poker: I'm behind with my volume goal, but it's still doable and I will get Gold status on 888poker. _wink: I want to create a motivating environment(new desk+new chair+always clean room), because I'm more dedicated then ever towards poker.

Easy call?

That's the power of habit.
And nice thoughts u brought here. I personally like the "Stop giving junk food to your mind(TV, gossip,...)" one. It makes even more sense when u realize that time is a precious thing.
