Full House VS Possible better river full house

I don't play much cash, but am trying to work on it as I feel I should suck at it less than I seem to. Played this hand earlier and found myself stuck on the river. Thought I should call, but felt it was one of those situations that if he had the king and I called I'd be like "why on earth did I call". Advice appreciated.

Check calling is fine ( u have a good bluff catcher). Villain might also be value betting As on river.

We could bet bigger OTT. Villain will bet some flushes and pocket pairs here so I think check call is fine OTR.

You need to win less than one time in four. Trivial call.

Also, there is absolutely no need to bet bigger on the turn. Why? For protection? Ridiculous. You want hands to stay, not go out. Chasers (with a K) have two outs.

He does not want them to fold but to charge them more for staying.

Sure, but a FD will likely not be willing to pay more than that, so OTT looks fine to me. OTF bet should be more like 8BB I believe. Clear call OTR for the reason YohanN7 has stated.

A full house is a good hand and we'd like to win a big pot. A high spade is never folding to any size of turn bet so why not get the max?

No one has mentioned to OP that we should really be playing 100BB+ deep as well.

Not sure that is an option at 888.

A big spade, not to mention any big spade not being the A♠: should not be calling anything substantial really. In addition, the board is paired and a flush card on the river would be just so so obvious. There are no implied odds whatsoever drawing at a flush for villain. Just be happy to have someone call a half-pot bet, which is a mistake with a naked Q♠: or less (possibly even with A♠: ) for the reasons stated.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm not the "milking slowplaying" type of guy. I bet and raise my nut hands, but here the board doesn't allow for someone calling a big bet without holding 44/KK. Remember, you want them to call, and you desperately want to see a :spade: on the river so that you can stack them. Even a smaller bet may be optimal.

There are lots of things NL2 players do that they shouldn't. You really think your average NL2 player is folding the nut flush draw?

How did you decide that? Ax, Qx FDs can pay.

Perhaps/perhaps not, but they might fold a Q high or 2 high or whatever-high flush draw that they (by the same token) would call a gentler bet with (because they are NL2 players). We are playing against a range.

Combo draws are paying too.

Bet bigger on the flop. I like the turn bet, 1/2 pot is about right.

OTR, easy check call. You have a nice bluff catcher. As well on the off chance he has a hand like As3x (high spade with a 3) he will probably value bet the river. Not much point in betting yourself though.

No disrespect to YohanN7 but they're not valid reasons. The games aren't so tough that we should be giving NL2 unknowns enough credit to assume they're thinking about implied odds and folding the nut flush draw for anything less than a PSB!
