Hi Collin,

I've recently started playing the $0.50 Spins and seem not to be doing too well. My ITM is at 32% and I'm down around 50 buyins. Most of my issues are with HU play, I guess, since 1/2 of finishes are in 2nd place.

Do you have any general suggestions for improving the overall HU play?

Another thing I noticed is that when minraising the button you always end up in a 3-way pot (at least in the $0.50 spins).
What do you think of limping the button with all pocket pairs below TT, for example. It's hard to play these if you don't flop a set 3-way, so I think limping them should be better, no?

PacnyTuH0: Good question. If you're usually getting called by both blinds when you raise the button you could definitely tighten some, and experiment with open-limping too, but don't take it too far. With a hand like 88 for example, you have much higher than 33% equity in a 3way spot when they call. Even when you don't flop a set, you'll often win small and medium pots. I'm happy to talk about this more in the coachings.

20121964: You want to get a larger sample size first, and then focus on ROI instead of Cash %. Another good question I'd like to elaborate more on if you tune in today

Hello Collin,

I have a few questions, I play 9 man STT on PS.

1) Do you recommend when we are down to 20 BB or less to tighten our game and go mainly only for push or fold?
2) When we reach heads up in 9 man and the effective stack is 20-25 BB, do you recommend open raising 3x? Or just open raise only 2x?
3) I saw a coaching video of yours, you were showing how to play HU and you said that your open raise range is about 70%, my question is, in 9 man STT, considering that, sometimes, our stack is 1/2 of villain's stack, do you recommend also open raising 70% or is it better to narrow the range drastically?

Maybe these are basic questions, but I need to clarify some things in my game.

My first 2k game had much more ev than actual result, and I'm doubting how ev is reliable.
Can you explain $ev mathmatically, and If I'm making $ev, does it often mean that my play is at least decent? or I shouldn't follow $ev as good play indicator?

Hi Collin!

Maybe in next coaching we could take a look how to import whole sng hh in HRC,
how to do quick analyze for a sng and what those settings mean
and how to find leaks.

I think this could be beneficial, because when we look only at marked hands instead of whole sng together, we can miss some crucial spots and leaks.

Looking forward for that 45man action as well.

Your actual results are 'unreliable', while the $EV is the most accurate (though imperfect) measure of skill that has ever been invented.

J/k, you'd need a bit of free time to explain decisions, so the table count should be not more than 6-10.

Feel free to choose whatever topic you want for the coaching, though.

^ Never mind - I think the strategy for the promo should deviate from optimal anyway, e.g. I have to start push/folding at 25 bb stacks in order to keep the number of decisions per tourney as low as possible so that the sustainable table count is as high as possible . The promo prize EV is just huge in comparison with the expected win/loss from the tourneys themselves, even considering that I'll likely have to mix $2.50s in at offpeak hours, though I'd love to see enough $1 hypers running in the lobby.

hi colin can you do a video on six max sngs (or 5 max which is what i'm playing) and how to construct good push fold ranges, and resteal ranges, for 4 handed, 3 handed, and headsup - using holdem resources calculator, and also something explaining why nash ranges are correct, and why icm is correct, like we hear this is the correct way to play, but what is to say that is so? some kind of in depth explanation of why we should be playing this way and practical examples of using software to come up with our own ranges, thanks
