As for another topic suggestion, I think defending vs 3bets OOP is a very interesting topic!
I'm just reviewing such hands and I am clueless in every second of them or so. I take a closer look at these spots now, because I feel very uncomfortable playing them. Furthermore I just recently discovered that even some nit-ish players with stats like 16/15 do 3bet me lite (AJo MP vs UTG for example). I decided now to do something against my exploitability there because it seems to be neccessary already on NL10 :f_eek:. Over the last 66k hands I fold 67% (UTG: 57%, MP: 64%, CO: 61%, BTN: 73%, SB: 73%) vs 3bets overall. Especially on the BTN and in SB I'm very exploitable, although I think my BTN stat shouldn't be a problem because there are many villains out there who don't defend enough. In consequence I steal a lot (64% overall) and fold a lot to action from those players, which results in a higher overall fold to 3bet-stat. And because of that I think some people are trying to exploit me.
The SB-value is definitely too high and I think I should really work on my game vs 3bets there.
There is no way around negative winrates when facing 3bets, but I feel that I am bleeding too much.
$EV by Position: SB=-85, EP=-40, MP=-100, CO=-135, BTN=-82 (bb/100)

An example for a hand which was difficult for me, although (or because) I have TPTK: If villain shoves on the river it's hard for me to fold, but I think it would be the right move.

Hello.
Why I can see only 4 minutes of your videos? With other videos the same.

For each video there is a status-requirement. I believe the W34z3l's Academy vids are for gold+ members.
As I can see you just recently joined. First of all I would therefore suggest you stick to the basics and study all the theroretical concepts. After that I recommend the video Series "10 Tips to get out of the Micros" by double2. This series for example only requires silver-status. Have fun!

Same thing with double2's videos. Even if the videos for silvers.

Hey w34z3l !
I am just going through the ranges you gave us in the first post of 6max walkthrough and I have a question concerning "episode 5 - dismantling 3-bettors". For instance, you give this range : MP vs 3b 4bet IP AhAs, AhAc, AsAc, KhKs, KhKc, KsKc, ATs-A9s, KJs, AJo, KQo - thats 6 value combos and 36 combos of 4bet bluffs. Don't you think it's too exploitable when we fold over 80% to 5bets in this spot? It seems that our opponents could potentially shove any2 on us.

Hopefully this was explained in the video, but these ranges were not designed to be balanced. They were designed to give an indication of which hands might make good 4bet bluffs if villain was showing a tendency to fold.

In terms of balance we should be able to defend about 50% of our 4betting range assuming villain has around 30% equity with his jams, so it's a 4bet bluff:value ratio of about 1:1 if we want to be balanced.

Btw reiselieter, congrats on winning, please add me on skype (w34z3l).

Ok, so live coaching tomorrow, the topic will be Probe Bets

By probe bet we mean bet-vs-missed-cbet-OOP on either the turn or river.
So as usually feel free to post hands where we either probe bet or have the opportunity to.

Catch you all tomorrow!

Here is a hand with delayed c-bet so skip if it doesn't fit. But it looks pretty similar to some probe-bet spots.

In this spot opponent had exploit (high skip/fold on Turn) but which line should we choose here as default? And how often we can continue betting on River if opponent skip/call Turn?

1st hand

Is it OK to bet here or do you prefer to check and hope that we will be good enough often in SD (and he will not bluff too often)?

So a nit is a nit whether he is playing 2nl or 1000nl. We just see less super-nits at 1000nl.

its interesting how nit can be reaching this limit. Or he just plays like fish - deposits and slowly loses? I mean nit is like a weak regular, so he should understand that he should not play limit which he is not beating. How do they think, anybody has the idea?

well nit doesnt mean he is weak regular but might be some recreational player who read some basic strategies + have a lot of money and plays for fun

Hey guys,

This week for live coaching we'll be running a question and answer session. Basically, feel free to post your poker related questions here in the thread. Or if you prefer you can come along to the coaching session and paste it into the chat.

Will award 5 points for first question each person posts and 20 points for my favourite. 2nd question onwards I will award points at my discretion.

Assuming there is dead time we will play some tables, but hopefully you guys have got enough interesting questions to keep this rolling for a while. Is there anything you've always wanted to know about poker? Then post!

How much time should someone who wants to see rapid progress spend on poker and what ratio of playing and studying would you recommend?

what is your advice for moving up the limits? (BRM, money scared etc.)
