QQ in SB v BTN 3 bet pot - bad turn card

It is ok to bet 1/2 pot in 3 bet pots.
I would like to hear the reason behind wanting to check-call the turn.

Good question. Call it a hunch, but i've never done well in 3b pots on these types of boards.

One guy I learned from often warned me about these co-ordinated boards with a J and a T - it smashes his calling range. Obviously it won't every time, but I just didn't like the turn card being OOP. Maybe I could have b/f the turn as it gives him 2 ways to win the hand now, including bluffs, although he could be semi-bluffing here with straight draws and 2 flush draws.

I agree on the flop sizing, especially with 2 callers.

Bet / fold on the turn id say to be the best play . By checking he can semibluff you , you dont really know where you hand stands so you shouldnt have checked . Just bet / fold without any worries . GL !

I prefer bet/folding on turn.

B/f turn. There are still al lot of combo's that u beat that still will call.

I like just overbet-shoving the turn. It might seem like an overplay but its not.
We are too shallow to bet any substantial ammount and then fold when we get like 25% pot odds and its a terrible mistake to bet/fold against J9 or QJ or J+fd. Hes not beating you too often, sets will likely raise the flop, most of his floats have a pair + draw to call you with, because in his eyes you could be on a draw, so you are not doing too bad when you get called. + we have a gutshot so we draw to atleast a chop /its unlikely he has Q9/

When you check, this sizing is pretty scary so I guess folding is ok.

Thanks for the feedback guys, interesting stuff.. it's funny, I had a similar spot today with AA OOP on a drawy board, and as Nsavov mentioned above I shoved the turn (slightly above pot size remaining) and he called trying to chase an idiot end gutshot. This wasn't Zoom, so had quite a few reads on this player (inspired by watching Lemon36's Beyond the 1st strategy).

Mind you, the QQ hand may well have been a completely different scenario, but you guys have been very helpful. Cheers.

Bet/fold turn would be better.
