Poker Stars $50.00 No Limit Hold'em - 5 players
Hero (BB): $71.28 - VPIP: 23, PFR: 19, 3B: 8, AF: 3,0, Hands: 281990
UTG: $75.48 - VPIP: 25, PFR: 20, 3B: 7, AF: 2,6, Hands: 5877
CO: $81.92 - VPIP: 25, PFR: 19, 3B: 7, AF: 1,8, Hands: 70483
BTN: $71.23 - VPIP: 32, PFR: 25, 3B: 10, AF: 2,9, Hands: 5547
SB: $54.36 - VPIP: 55, PFR: 13, 3B: 1, AF: 1,4, Hands: 206

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is BB with 8  T :club:
2 folds, BTN raises to $1.50, 1 fold, Hero calls $1

Flop: ($3.25) 3  8 :club: K :club: (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $2.00, Hero calls $2

Turn: ($7.25) 6  (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $4.50, Hero ???

So... i think if it was A8, then we can say it is a medium strenght hand so we can call twice.
99-QQ ... i think we can call twice?

I think we can fold OTT with this hand, you have a lot better hands to continue, of course if villain cbets turn with high frequency then you could call.

Regarding A8 and 99-QQ: A8 should be call , 99-QQ should be 3bets pre vs this opponent, but if you somehow get to the postflop with these hands in this spot then I would probably call TT-QQ and I'm not so sure about 99, maybe fold, IMO A8 in this spot is better hand to call than 99.

call pre
call flop
call turn

defend most mid pairs here (maybe fold 86, 87, def 89+)
we don't have 99-QQ as we would 3bet pre

fold A3 (K3 or worse is folded pre)
22-77 can be folded

THIS. If we dont defend enough of these second pairs vs a wide range that bu has... will be easy to exploit us posflop.

Btw, its interesting to consider some hands to check/raise, making button's life tougher.
mbml, can u think in a good check/raise range here?

Hard to fine better than about 10 combos of X/R valueing range here (and could be worse to rep something if villain has Kx)

So I think we can bluff some 3x and the baddest 8x here (that have good blockers against villains nuts)

Villain opens for 3bb and I do not like to defend T8o vs such open.
I do not like tge idea to bluff here with 8x. We have sd value.

I liked what u presented. But I didnt understood well the part of 8x that have good blockers against villains nuts. Can u give a few examples of that?

That's why we can make it with the baddest 8x that could sometimes loose vs higher 8x of villain.

Just the fact that 3x and 8x (8x still in discuss :P) are good candidates for bluffing cause it blocks sets in villains range.

oow... I understood a completely different thing.
Was thinking something like using an 8x that could block potencial nuts to the board. Like an 8J on a 89Q board or something.

Btw, maybe we can do it...
