SB: $59.82 (299.1 bb)
BB: $11.84 (59.2 bb)
UTG: $7.94 (39.7 bb)
MP: $20 (100 bb)
Hero (CO): $23.22 (116.1 bb)
BTN: $60.60 (303 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with J J
UTG raises to $1.40, MP folds, Hero ???

Villain is 100/33 over 3 hands. Based on this, his stack and his raise size we can assume he is a fish.

The awkwardness of his open raise is compounded by the fact that BTN and SB are deep. Fortunately, they're both on the tighter side at 22/19 and 19/14 respectively. BB is unknown.

Every option here feels kind of weird. Getting it in vs a whale's 35BB stack can't be bad, but what do we raise to? Flatting seems really awkward given the SPR.

I think without info its better to wait a bit for more info on villain. Maybe he opens only KK+ that way. He really has to open some trash so that we would see some profit.

But I am playing mostly NL5 now :)

If you are raising - just push.

So you'd fold?

min 3bet and call a shove from UTG. If BTN or SB shows some aggression - fold. If UTG just calls, push basically every flop - just consider you got it in preflop.

Push as in my whole stack rather than effective stacks, you mean?

Depends on who is behind but yes.
If passive players behind- bet 40bb .

Seems a good plan, mate.
It can avoid the bad thing of pushing and getting called by people behind w really strong hands.

I completely disagree w that, based in what I just said above.

We still have equity vs them...

Players from behind are passive. We do not mind playing for 40BB with our hand.

If people behind call that, I m more inclined to believe that we are not in good shape.

So what? We will be in a mw pot and probably doing ok. If they have a strong hand they will push pre, not call.

I know that you can't do it. Ask a friend to help you and post it here.

if u flat pre, how often are u folding post flop with an spr of 2?
do u want to play HU or MW with this hand? (if u actually think about it u'll realize even with MW hands u don't want to play MW here ;))
if u flat, how often does someone squeeze to get it in with the fish with a worse hand than yours?

i hope u realize that calling is out of the question.

if u were OTB and villain was doing this from the CO, u would be more likely to get it in rather than hero fold right? u shouldn't. drunk fish are as aware of position as i am knowledgeable in quantum mechanics.

so yeah, 3b this please. and for gods sake, not to 40bb lol. ur sizing changes very little about your play vs the OR. he ships and u call or he flats and u get it in on 95% of flops. if someone behind even blinks you are folding, do u want to lose 40bb every time that happens or would u rather lose 14?

I didn't really ever consider calling or folding tbh.
