This week was tough and i've lost all motivation at the moment, hopefully i will sleep it off tonight and start afresh tomorrow (seeing as i just bought a Gold status upgrade so i can study more). I think it has been partially to do with coming back to working full time after 2 weeks off. I will leave my full update for tomorrow or something when i'm feeling better :f_thumbsup:

last hand made me rage quit all my tables Vs my favorite Aggro-Fish so far at the new site :

IPoker, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: $11.17 (111.7 bb)
BB: $16.15 (161.5 bb)
UTG: $10.05 (100.5 bb)
MP: $4 (40 bb)
Hero (CO): $12.38 (123.8 bb)
BTN: $21.77 (217.7 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 9 9
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.30, BTN calls $0.30, SB raises to $1.30, BB folds, Hero calls $1, BTN folds

Flop: ($3) Q 8 6 (2 players)
SB bets $2.10, Hero calls $2.10

Turn: ($7.20) 7 (2 players)
SB bets $7.77 and is all-in, Hero calls $7.77

River: ($22.74) A (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results:

Spoiler

$22.74 pot ($1.51 rake)
Final Board: Q 8 6 7 A
SB showed K A and won $21.23 ($10.06 net)

Hello Sharks! _biggrin:

Seeing as i have all ready done a small update on how things are going, i'm going to try and analyse where i am going wrong to try and sort out my leaks. I can't get any coaching from W34Z3L yet as he is not back in the UK until February and i'm at work the times he can coach which is a little disappointing but It does mean that i am going to have to analyse myself as much as possible and try and work on getting a better poker foundation. I have been looking out for videos and info on what my stats should be as i'm not that sure for about 90% of the stats i can get so i have watched the best winners on NL50 SH video by Fallout86 as it is based on a database of 1.5m hands from the best winning regs on NL50.

My stats below are for NL10 regular tables - so if anyone spots anything i don't list then PLEASE let me know ! _thumbsup:

So far while comparing my stats to winning regs i've notice the following things i need to do or stop doing:
- Tighten up from EP and MP
- 3bet more from the BB
- increase Turn C-bet
- Calling from the BB too much and getting to the river with a weak hand.
- Fold to more 3bets
- Fold to more turn bets when i'm never calling river bet - this looks like a big leak! :(

For anyone wanting to see my HUD :

I hate that there's a mouse as my auto-rate icon - obviously not playing aggressively enough _evil:

Playing from the BB vs a BTN open seems to be a big leak also :

I'm just about to start watching a video by Bogan specifically on this problem so hopefully i will take it in and understand then i can hit the tables for my nightly grind :)

So guys time for a mid-week update :f_mad:

I've not played a lot since Sunday as i was Mega frustrated but things are possibly starting to look up as I've made some stuff happen at work hopefully for the better which means i can focus more on reaching my goal of Playing poker for a living :f_cool:
I just want to become a shark _cool: but i need to work a hell of a lot harder to get there!

NL10 has been going horrible but because i do have more than 25 BI's at NL20 i decided to give it a couple of shots as i feel i will progress quicker with only 2-3 tables of speed rather than 6-10 of regular. So far it has been pretty unsteady and i am up on NL20 and down on NL10 which seems to be proving my point a little.
Here are the two graphs :

Overall this week :

I have been looking for leaks and trying to post hands and read hand reviews etc so i have come across a few things i need to work work on :
- Review and make my HUD more useful
- Double barreling and not giving up on so many turns when villains can have draws/worse hands
- FOLDING TO MORE 3BETS
- How to play from the BB (need to 3bet more vs CO,BTN,SB)
- Tightening up my EP + MP range
- Staying emotionally unattached while playing and not letting the money effect decisions.
- Stop checking bankroll during sessions
- Setting a stop loss
- Thin value betting

Biggest hand of the day :

Hero (CO): $39.58 (197.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q K
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.60, 2 folds, BB calls $0.40

BB checks, Hero bets $0.80, BB raises to $2.80, Hero raises to $6.80, BB raises to $15, Hero raises to $38.98 and is all-in, BB calls $23.98

Final Board: J 9 T 4 2

Tough run, man!

I know those times are difficult, they are a pain in the a$$ to deal with. A severe hit to motivation. But this is a perfect test to see how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward :) Just take some time, re-evaluate and go back to 10nl and continue your improvement. Make sure you're in the right state of mind, though. If it's not the case, I'd even suggest dropping down to 5nl for a bit to get your mind clear. Playing that low shouldn't look too appealing, so it's the perfect source of motivation to play 10nl and do it as best as you can.

GL and hope you turn it around! _drink:

Hey man,

Thanks for the support!

Congratulations on securing the job and on reaching NL100 again!

I have come back a little bit as I can still shot NL20 untill €400 as I am using an aggressive BRM and I'm not actually finding NL20 too difficult. I am getting some coaching tonight to spot some leaks and work on my game :) the bankroll is back up over €570 so hopefully I can establish myself at NL20.

Thank you very much, it's really a significant event which is going to change my daily life quite a lot, making 2016 start great!

I'm not yet at 100nl sir, would be way too early for me. Still have lots to prove at 50, so gonna stay there for some more for sure Goal is to have 50 BI's and then maybe we can talk :)

Glad to hear that it's going well again, have fun in your coaching and I wish 20nl is kind to you. :gl:

Hey guys, Thanks for the support :)

Week 9 has passed of the bankroll challenge and although i finish up with more €'s i'm not happy as i am basically a rakeback grinder and a losing player who is losing for most of the challenge. I can't be too dis heartened as at the end of the day for me it is all about the money but i could be making so much more with just a little bit more work.

On Saturday after a rather shit Saturday at work i had a coaching session with Vonki which has opened my eyes to some of the mistakes I am making and telling me what areas to work on. So at least there is a base to keep working on as i have quite a lot to work on.

**I also must say that for the price Vonki is offering, and micro stakes player must give her a try as she knows her stuff and is an absolute Gem **
Thanks again Vonki! :f_thumbsup:

I have a few ideas on where to work on this week so i have a couple of challenges for myself :

- Play only 2 tables of NL20 speed at any given time
- Play 10k hands
- Work on tightening up my EP + MP ranges as they are a bit too loose
- Keep practicing hand reading using HM2 replayer + Equilab
- Watch 7 strategy videos (on specific things)
- Arrange another coaching session
- Go to the gym (follow workout plan listed a few posts down)
- Keep on improving my HUD
- Hit gold status on Ipoker for more RB :profit: 2k SP's needed.

So this weeks giraffe :f_zZz: :

Week 9 finishing bankroll- €551

Have a good last few hours of the weekend and hopefully you all do well grinding :)

Cheers :f_drink:

I think the "go to the gym"-goal needs to be more specific....

"Go to the gym and do a 1h workout on core, legs, chest, arms on 4 days of the week" sounds better...

Hi Sven,

Yeah I have made up a workout plan starting tonight so I will put it up on here to keep myself accountable after I get home tonight.

I don't know how I'm going to grind as I work from 8am to 6pm then will be working out/walking to gym between 7pm and 9pm.

It needs to be done though as we only get once chance at life

Finally a good Monday

Got home slightly early, went to the gym and have had a small grind back to winning ways _cool:

I'd say shooting NL20 is going okay so far - Might just be a coincidence but had my coaching with Vonki around 6.5k hands then hey presto i start running good :f_pleased:

I have also set up a 6 week workout plan instead of just saying '' go to the gym''. For those of you interested i have uploaded a picture below

The fish above had opened to 6x with Q10o UTG a couple of hands earlier and his VPIP was 63/52 so it was a fairly easy decision.

Bankroll challenge Week 10 :

This week was one of the most up and down weeks i've ever had and again ends with losses at the tables but a little profit coming from the RB + FDB which keeps my bankroll afloat. This week i have studied more than ever and feel i am learning stuff every day but my biggest leak at the moment has got to be mindset.
I play well for a session then a couple of coolers happen or i make a mistake calling when i obviously shouldn't and it just seems to set me off on a slope of tilt and not caring about the money. I want this so bad to make a living from poker in the future that it frustrates me hugely and feels like it is stressing me out when that shouldn't be the case. I have a feeling it may be down to Ipoker as the rake is huge and one of the pieces of advice Vonki gave me was to avoid Ipoker as the rake is huge and that is what attracts the regs. As soon as i've finished grinding this bonus i think i will be moving back Pokerstars or possibly 888, so this will be around the end of February.

I did however achieve some of my goals for the week so i can take a little comfort knowing i've done some of the tasks ive set myself
- Play only 2 tables of NL20 speed at any given time [X]
- Play 10k hands [✓]
- Work on tightening up my EP + MP ranges as they are a bit too loose [✓]
- Keep practicing hand reading using HM2 replayer + Equilab [✓]
- Watch 7 strategy videos (on specific things) [✓]
- Arrange another coaching session - [X]
- Go to the gym (follow workout plan listed a few posts down)[Almost - went 3 times]
- Keep on improving my HUD [✓]
- Hit gold status on Ipoker for more RB :profit: 2k SP's needed. [✓]

This weeks graph :

Week 9 Bankroll : €551
Week 10 hands : 10,470
Week 10 RB + FDB : €94
Week 10 profit : -€51.74
Week 10 Finishing bankroll : €594
