Hi,

Poker Stars, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: $2.01 (100.5 bb)
BB: $2.53 (126.5 bb)
UTG: $2.30 (115 bb)
MP: $2.02 (101 bb)
CO: $4.80 (240 bb)
Hero (BTN): $2 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with Q♠ Q♥
UTG raises to $0.05, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.18, 2 folds, UTG raises to $0.44, Hero calls $0.26

Flop: ($0.91) 6♣ 3♣ T♦ (2 players)
UTG bets $0.28, Hero calls $0.28

Turn: ($1.47) 2♦ (2 players)
UTG bets $1.30, Hero calls $1.28 and is all-in

River: ($4.03) 6♠ (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Preflop - Utg raises to 2.5bb, I re-raise him 1 pot w/qq, he re-re-raises me and I call.

Flop - He bets 1/3 pot only, making me think that he isn't afraid of me calling. I call.
Turn - He bets all-in. I think he would play this way QQ+, AcKc and AdKd but, since he bet 1/3 pot on the flop I dubt he ever has a non-made hand at this point.

Would you have called the turn given the strong range perceived?

Thank you

Do you have stats on villain?

Probably counted pot to stack ratio. I'm also interested in his stats, opening 0,05 doesn't seem like getting the max value from KK or AA.

I would just call QQ vs UTG pre but this can be debatable. I know many of the guys will 3bet it too and I'm not in a mood to start the 3betQQvsUTG debate all over again. When UTG 4bets you I believe his range is KK+ and some bluffs. As played you can call on the flop. Turn is a clear fold. If you give him that QQ+,AcKc,AdKd which I can sort of agree, you have 15% equity. You would need at least 30% to call profitably.

I think, the problem is, why do you call in forst place, if you don´t want to call this turn? This is the best board, but the question is what kind of range do you gave him? Given his 4 bet size, his has some sort of clue about poker, so his 4bet range is very strong there QQ+ AK, and versus that range you are in really bad shape. And if you think, he doesn´t bluff enough, then i would fold on the turn. But i would even just call preflop vs UTG instead of 3bet, to leave his range wider.

Villain is an unknown. However, when he bet 1/3 pot on flop I presume he knows the spr concept and so, I guess he isn't going to be a recreational player most of the time.

la55i - I guess you think turn is a clear because of the range I define him but, that is the range I would have played in his place, I can't assume everyone will play the same way I do.

I don't think 'to leave his range wider' is a good argument to just call preflop'. There are only two hands that you should be afraid of which are AA and KK making a total of 12 combos versus the rest of his range that you are ahead. Imagine that he has A5s and the flop is Axx. Plus, when calling players behing you might want to join the pot, leaving you a worse equity.

The thing is that I don't know for sure what his range is, if I did then I would fold.

Hero has to call $1.28 to possibly win an effective pot of $2.75: 31.8% winning is needed to break-even.

The range given consists of 15 paired hands and 2 non-paired hands: 17 combo's. Villain's non-paired hands are behind Hero's. Pocket queens splits the pot. Therefor:
2 wins: 11.8% win,
12 loses: 70.6% lose,
3 splits: 17.6% split.
Hero has two clean outs: Full house vs Flush. This increases the chance on a better hand with two outs in a 46-card deck to (11.8% plus 4.3% gives ) 16.1%. The chance on losing will become 66.3%.
However if the pot splits due to the rake it will result in a loss of 6%.

IMO calling the Turn bet is not a good idea.

I think that if we 3 bet preflop we should go all the way. Just calling the 4b vs utg is not my style.
I would fold turn too.

True. But the way you play is a good guideline and villain probably plays somewhat similar range. Poker is a game of incomplete information so sometimes we have to guess. When villain is unknown we should assume he is playing standard ranges and not doing anything wild and stupid. Wouldn't TT be very loose to 4bet? I think short stacker could 4bet shove pre but here I don't think he has it. Also would he shove turn with JJ when we clearly rep a strong hand too? Imo here QQ+,AK,AQ with draws is very realistic.

Yes, OTT I would make the decision by myself whether he has KK or AA. It might differ per time I would call or fold. A low bet OTF would give me the incentive to call though.

Overall, lines differ according to preferences. The only bad line I can see is calling the 4-bet and then either fold or go all the way. It is necessary to call the flop bet and sometimes possible fold to a turn bet. In other words, we aren't purely set-mining with QQ, but we are also not blindly playing for stacks. The latter should be done preflop only, not after villain has shown strength twice more.
