Doh, how did this happen?

No worries - don't look into the passport, you can be as young as you feel like! Congrats (3 days late, sorry), keep crushing and spreading the wisdom!
I'm so afraid of SirPaulius becoming a formidable opponent due to your coaching
He seems better at learning than me.
I have to say it took me quite some time to finally come to the currently last page of your blog and I must say really impressive poker/life story and lot of good information. My only regret is that you are not BSS cash game player from beginning of your poker journey :-) because that would be amazing to see such a detailed blog about a way to high stakes cash game. Anyhow I wish you all the best with your health and keep your blog alive as long as you can :-)
*In the beginning of your poker journey as soon as I saw that you made quick transformation from SnG player to BBS NL100 cash game player I said to myself ooo I think It is going to be downhill journey for you :-) I am also surprised that nobody did not warn you to not do that.
Thanks xxnub. Many lessons learned along the way, and yes of course in retrospect it was not sensible to think I could just beat nl100
But that's OK. I'm glad the journey happened like it did. No regrets!
Being 40 is going well on a 'life' front - lots of reading, audio-books, good food and drink and happy family times. Poker... not so much ♦
February is turning into a shi*storm of negative variance, both my worst ever d/s and also worst ever runbad (I think!). It's annoying to come here apparently only to moan but after all that is - and has always been - one of the purposes of blogging. Here's the nightmare in pictorial form:
First cEV:

BI

Obviously psychologically quite tough to deal with, even having played for so many years. It's easier to bear knowing that this is the kind of thing that, touch wood, only strikes every few years and also having come through one or two like this before. BRM is still solid. Health decent for an old man
and game is strong apart from the odd tilty ICM error... I'll get through this and look forward to better times. If you're out there hating poker right now, you're not alone, but trust me that hard work will get you through!:f_thumbsup:

Make that 89 BI under EV now:

I feel so much better now that I've told you though, so thanks for taking a load off ♦
What kind of game you play the most? Is it the spin&go's? What vids would you recommend to watch? Starters myself on the 0,25 using the charts and strat from Collin from ps. Nice to see you had a very good day!
Hey elsjorro
I play almost exclusively 6mx sngs. I coach Spins too. Glad to hear Collin's excellent materials are helping. For sngs or Spins I suggest you watch Moshman, me, and Faarcyde all here on Pokerstrat. Bencb also a boss.
Thanks for stopping by
Tim
Yeah for the lower limits it really is breath taking material tbh, now i just need to run better in the non 2x multipliers:p
February Wrapup
It's been a very long time since I did a monthly wrap up. However this month has gone so badly (compared with previous months) that it caused me to look back over some of the bad times that I have written about in this blog in the past, a process which has brought me a lot of comfort.
In particular although I thought February's downswing was the worst I had ever gone through, it seems that's not even close to being true. Back in 2011 I was over 150 BI under EV at one point - something that had been long forgotten. Although my losses this month dwarf (in dollar terms) anything I had in the past, in terms of BI under EV it's really nothing that unusual.
Here are the graphs, for what they are worth:
$

BI

2% EV ROI is nothing to be particularly proud of - although given the vast majority of my games were either hyper turbo satellites or 6mx Hyper-Turbos - it's certainly not awful. But this mediocrity has spurred me on to working on my game anew over the next month with the aim of trying to fix any leaks that have crept in in terms of pushing and calling ranges. I also need to review the high stakes hypers game-play to make sure I understand where the edge in these games (if any) lies. Yeah, so it sucks to run $8k+ under EV but moaning about it clearly won't do any good (when did it ever?)
Maybe I will use this recent run bad as an impetus to blog a little more frequently. If that's the case then look out: wall of text incoming!
Thanks for reading

So this month's graph is basically the exact reverse of last month's:

With staking and coaching it takes me to second best month so far, at just over $10k in earnings.
Unfortunately the stress of last month's runbad lead to some pretty poor health this month. Lots of shoulder problems and it's possible, according to the doctor I saw today, that it may be another frozen shoulder in the making. Finger's crossed, though, that it settles down with some R&R...
Going to have some sessions in the coming weeks with a mind therapist to help develop strategies for dealing with the pain that seems to be an all too frequent occurrence since I took up this profession!
All the best for April

I have heard a lot of people have had success using MSM (hopefully it's the same in english) for treating artritis and similar problems. Be careful when starting out, if you do, as I've also read the side effects if you start on a high dose can be quite bad! It's worth looking into, imo.
Also, devils claw is used for pain treatment, which is a natural substance and much easier on the liver and has fewer side effects than any medications you might or might not take for the pain! Be aware though, it literally tastes like crap. Nastiest thing I ever tried, if I can recall correctly. ![]()
Also, congratz on a great month!
April Wrap-up
A really great month considering I didn't play much, due to shoulder troubles. With the help of some positivity mind coaching, I've managed to get a handle on the worst of the pain from Frozen Shoulder #2. From three doses of painkillers daily at the beginning of the month, I'm currently taking none ![]()
Had some fun donking off stacks in the newly promoted Knockout format in the last few days. Nice to have to use one's brain to work out some unusual ICM spots
In other news, just watched Slumdog Millionaire again - man that is one great film
Ok, so traditional lazyboy's graph incoming...

Thanx 4 reading as always and happy May.

Managed a walk every days since Sunday:
Sunday - 2.15 km
Monday - 3.94 km
Tuesday - 4.26 km
Wednesday - 4.71 km
Thursday - 5.08 km
Friday - 1.54 km (with another 5.4 km to come!)
Pretty proud of myself since it's the first time I managed to sustain any kind of basic exercise regime. Samsung S6 bloatware 'S Fitness' actually has some motivational use ♦
Run, Tim64, Run!
