These charts are supposed to be used for your first attempts in playing Spin&Go. In the following lessons in this thread we already evolve from those with postflop/preflop ranges. any further questions?

Thank you guys, and especially Collin, for the lessons.

I used the strategy from lesson 1 to gain more feeling for the spin and go's ($0.25 on pokerstars). Very helpful as a starting point!

Since some people were asking for statistics, I will share some. My chip EV was positive (approximately +5k) over 500 games and ITM was 32,40%.

Maybe not a question for this thread, but how come i can have a positive chip graph of 7k chips and my actual winnings on the 0.25 are -0.50. Is this saying i run like shit in the non 2x multipliers?

7k Chips = you won 7 more Spin&Go than you would have if the prices are just split (you win 7x the 500 chips of both your opponents).
A fair (i.e. no skill involved, simply flipping) share out of 100 Spins would be 33(.3) Spins to be won. You actually won 40.
3 out of 4 are the single multipliers - if you are unlucky to hit them most of the time when you are winning, than you still loose money on the 100 Spins.

A fair share of Spins would give you around:
74 x $2
18 x $4
7.5 x $6
0.5 x $10+

You see, it is not too unlikely to run unlucky, even if you are a good winning player.
In your case, even with running exactly at expected value in the spin-lottery, you could end up winning:
0 of the $10+
1 out of the 7.5 $6
4 out of the 18 $4
38 out of the 74 $2

(I used $1 Spin&Go because it is easier to calculate - divide the $ by 4 and it should be roughly the same, even though they price distribution varies and the rake is slightly higher on $.25 spins)

Huge majority of people will have negative $EV even if they have +CEV, since such large part of the EV is tied to the extremely rare top prizes.

Great course Collin, but I have 1 question - which ranges should i use in hu? I think that as btn i should use "The player on the button folded" chart. But what about playing from bb? When btn raises should i use " The Button raises to 2-3 big blinds and the Small Blind folds" or " The Small Blind raises to 2-3 big blinds"?

Hi collin, what's your opinio on the 8 dollar temporary spin & go's to win a pokertrip to sotshi?
Do you think they are more interesting to play than the 5 dollar for example.
Maybey because of the other pay-out structure (only 16, 32 or sotshi), or maybey it attracts even more recreational players?
thx for the course so far!

Yes, of course, the $8 spins themselves attract a ton of recreationals, but the problems with them are the insane variance and the need to attend the championship main event in Sochi (the package is non-refundable), plus the fact that the expense and travel part of the package is seriously overpriced (the buy-in of the event is $5600 and the expenses are $1900, or 34% of the buy-in, plus the winnings are theoretically subject to the 13% income tax, so you need to have an ROI > 54% in the main event just to break even on the trip unless you profit from side events and cash games), or at least, as a Russian, I know that, even near the casino where the event is to be held, it's possible to rent a much cheaper place than the offered non-refundable accomodation at the posh Marriott hotel during the event.

So:

1. Even if you do win the package, you'll need to cash in the main event in order to get a profit from these spins, otherwise your ROI will be largely negative.

2. Much of the package value is a sunk cost, either because it's expensive to visit Russia if you don't speak Russian, or because you can live in Sochi for much cheaper than Stars suggest if you do speak Russian.

3. If you have no experience with playing live highroller MTTs, then your ROI in the main event isn't going to be high enough to compensate for the above two inconveniences.

Therefore, don't grind these spins unless you're a live MTT reg or you're OK with losing thousands of dollars for the sake of looking at the female Russian casino employees.

Hey jimmyjames30,

You can ask Collin in his Sit 'N Go Crushers Academy thread, or turn up to one of his weekly live coachings.

You can also take advantage of poker4tatko list of non Spin Legends resources.

And there is always SpinLegends. _evil:

Hope this helps

Laz

I'm not able to see the charts. Does anyone else have this issue. And if not why I cannot. I have tried 3 different browsers but no luck.

I don't see them either. Seems like we have to watch the according video and write them down manually.
