Thanks for the congrats justkyle & ovechkin :)

I just had another awesome day at the tables today. In total I played 2.2k hands up almost 7 BI! I ran pretty normal except for 1 monster pot that gave me 4BI...

Pre-flop: ($6, 5 players) Hero is UTG 9♦ 9♥
Hero raises to $14, Vo2Max calls $14, ahvena raises to $48, claretsoup calls $46, 1 fold, Hero calls $34, Vo2Max calls $34

Flop: T♦ 4♠ T♠ ($196, 4 players)
claretsoup checks, Hero checks, Vo2Max checks, ahvena checks

Turn: 9♠ ($196, 4 players)
claretsoup bets $4, Hero raises to $150, 1 fold, ahvena calls $150, claretsoup raises to $296, Hero calls $146, ahvena calls $146

River: K♥ ($1,084, 3 players)
claretsoup checks, Hero bets $437, ahvena calls $437, claretsoup calls $437

Final Pot: $2,395
ahvena shows: A♠ 3♠
claretsoup shows: A♣ T♥
Hero shows: 9♦ 9♥

Hero wins $2,392 ( won +$1,611

Let's just say it feels pretty good to win 1 pot that's a similar size to my monthly pay check in the real world

thanks SoyCD and vladnz!

Today I only managed 1k hands even though I had more time...I'm a little hungover so playing at all probably wasn't a great idea. That said, I think I stayed pretty focused and managed to play a decent session that finished exactly break even.

I'm pretty close to the top50 (2k bonus) and I'm not working tomorrow or Saturday so I'm going to try and put in some sick volume to try and make it.

I played 2.6k hands so far today up not far from 12 BI I'm really happy with how I played today and obviously I ran a little better than average  (45BB/100 hands) The tables aren't very good right now so I'm not sure if I'm going to get any more hands in today.

Here's my graph for the last 4 days:

Also, here's how to get lucky and stack an idiot on the first 2 hands you play against him!

Hand #1 (this was my first orbit at this table)

$2/$4 No Limit Holdem
6 players
Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
UTG claretsoup ($388.00)
UTG+1 Hero ($844.42)
CO Pidibi ($281.80)
BTN kungkong ($500.08)
SB Vo2Max ($402.00)
BB ROSSI000 ($559.75)

Pre-flop: ($6, 6 players) Hero is UTG+1 A♣ A♠
claretsoup calls $4, Hero raises to $20, 3 folds, ROSSI000 calls $16, claretsoup calls $16

Flop: 9♣ T♥ Q♠ ($62, 3 players)
ROSSI000 bets $36, claretsoup calls $36, Hero raises to $180, ROSSI000 calls $144, claretsoup folds

Turn: 4♣ ($458, 2 players)
ROSSI000 checks, Hero bets $644.42, ROSSI000 folds

Final Pot: $1,102.42

Hero wins $1,099.42 ( won +$255.00 )
ROSSI000 lost -$200
claretsoup lost -$56

Hand #2 (literally the next hand)

Pre-flop: ($6, 6 players) Hero is UTG 3♠ 3♣
Hero raises to $14, 3 folds, ROSSI000 calls $12, claretsoup calls $10

Flop: 3♦ 3♥ T♦ ($42, 3 players)
ROSSI000 checks, claretsoup checks, Hero bets $30, ROSSI000 calls $30, claretsoup folds

Turn: 7♦ ($102, 2 players)
ROSSI000 bets $36, Hero raises to $130, ROSSI000 raises to $315.75, Hero calls $185.75

River: K♣ ($733.50, 2 players)

Final Pot: $733.50
ROSSI000 shows: 8♦ 8♠
Hero shows: 3♠ 3♣

Hero wins $730.50 ( won +$370.75 )
ROSSI000 lost -$359.75
claretsoup lost -$14

*edit- I should also note that claretsoup and ROSSI000 were both playing around 50VPIP...and I've got position...talk about juicy table!

@vladnz- So far I've been using about a 40BI rule. The thing is that there basically isn't consistent traffic (what I mean is at least 6 tables available) above Nl400 at Ladbrokes. I now have a BR that I will think about taking shots at Nl600 if the tables look good and I'd be willing to follow fish to Nl800 from time to time as well. A lot of the decent Nl400 regs are actually Nl800 regs who add Nl400 tables while they play the few 600/800 tables available. If I can continue to beat Nl400 I shouldn't be too outplayed at higher limits on ladbrokes I think, although I'm sure there are less fish.

For now I'm going to stick to Nl400 for the most part though because I still have a lot to learn. Since I'm playing against some Nl800 regs anyways I feel like Nl400 is still pretty challenging depending on which players are at the tables.

BR- $25 740

Looks like you got it right man. Congratz and keep it up - you're a great inspiration.

Thanks for all the complements guys! I really appreciate it!

Since my last post I feel like I've played like complete ass :baby: and I'm very frustrated! I dropped back down 6 BI. I know a good amount was bad luck, but I also made a ton of mistakes. I think I went on like 'opposite tilt' and wasn't able to concentrate at all in my sessions because I had run so good for the past 4 days... sounds stupid as I write it, but I'll have to work on that if I want to keep winnings in the long run.

Anyways I'm done for the month. I think I'm going to take a day or two off before starting back up again.

Here's my monthly graph

Here's a recap of my january goals:

Become diamond member: achieved

Make 1k in lads race: achieved

Maintain in control of tilt: I don't think you ever really achieve or fail at this...it's more of a learning process. That said, this month was more of a failure. I feel that I could have earned quite a bit more if I had quite a couple of sessions when I knew I should and also just stay generally more concentrated at the tables failed

review every session: I'm actually very happy about this. I was able to find quite a few errors and I feel like my game has come along was since the start of the month.achieved

become active on ps forum: I wasn't that active, but I posted hands when they came up and kept my blog updated. achieved
as for

In terms of profit I made almost exactly 7k not including the bonus (either 1.5 or 2k...not too sure which)

Overall I'm happy with this month mostly because of the way I'm improving my game. The major think I need to work on other than that is mind set/focus while playing. You just can't play well if your head's in the wrong place.

I know I can be even better than I am right now and that will be my main goal next month! Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about something around 9k profit for a month  ...it's just that when I think about every spot that I tilted or made mistakes it makes me think that I'm either just really lucky, or that there's potential for so much more.

Analyzing my month and writing this post really made me feel better :)

Thanks for reading!

Ok now that the past is behind me, it's time to look forward a bit...

February goals

2k in rake race- A goal like this really helps me stay focused at the tables I think. The only thing I need to be careful with is not forcing myself to play when I'm not feeling it (definitely -EV considering the bonus is pretty small compared to what I'll win or lose at the tables)

maintain in control of tilt- This was definitely my worst leak last month...I'm only playing this month when I know I'm in the right mindset!

review every session/improve- I'm still working on loosening up preflop and handreading postflop. I want to be consistently playing like 22/19 or even 23/20 by the end of the month. If I'm able to play looser and still win then it means I'm playing better postflop and also that my potential win rate is much higher.

Take shots at Nl600 with +BB/100- I now have 40BI at Nl600 so if there are decent tables available I'll be trying it out, although I'll be sticking mostly to Nl400.

watch all diamond videos- I'm sure I'll do this more than once next month.

Once again I'm not going to put BR goals because it just doesn't help my mentality while playing although I obviously want to make as much profit as possible.

GL at the tables next month! ;)

Georg

Wow amazing blog(s), ive read both of them in the last 24 hours and going from $500 to $20k in like half a year is... welll very good going.

Just a question though, i dont know a lot about ladbrokes and if you get rakeback (although u get money in the rake race or what ever its called) but you said that there isnt a lot of traffic there. Why dont you move to another site like Pokerstars or Full Tilt? (but did i read in your old blog you didnt have tracked accounts at these sites) Anyway was just wondering...Great Blog!

hi Betawatchout,

At ladbrokes the rake race replaced rakeback, for me in January it ended up being almost exactly the same as rakeback would have been (about 30%). There are a couple reasons I haven't switched.

-there are quite a few gamblers at ladbrokes that have no real clue how to play poker but still play Nl400+ (I don't actually know if there are more than at sites like fulltilt/pokerstars but it seems probable because it's primarily a betting/casino site)
-there are quite a few pretty bad regulars at Nl400 as well.
-rakeback- with this rake race I should get minimum 30% rakeback which I don't think I can get other places
-I already had existing accounts at fulltilt/pokerstars so I couldn't get SP.
-Small volume means you get to know the players you're up against faster. This isn't necessarily good or bad because they get to know you as well, but it makes for a little more metagame and helps me improve faster I think.

In the future I may change sites but I think I'll be staying at Lads until the end of the rakeraces at least (end of april)

I'm wondering if someone could let me know what the % rakeback you'd get at stars if you play enough to be supernova...I looked on their site a couple of time and I couldn't easily figure it out because it was in like lump sum payments for milestones or whatever. If someone has already figured it out it would help me a lot!
