Appreciate the welcome Alex!
I am sure you were not the only person wondering when I would do the switch. I decided to do it due to following reasons: 1) Ongoing traffic issue on 6 max turbo 2) Stars policy on table selecting software (would be very hard to play 12+ tables without those) 3) Have a friend who plays 60$ Spins with 6% ROI 4) Tested them with my friend elpsycho from 1 to 7$ limits and saw tons of recreational players and if there were some multi tabling guys they are weak in HU game
So switching seems like the obvious choice at this point. My friend who beats 60s with 6% told me that with my knowledge and steady grind I should move minimum to 30s ASAP. He said that up to 15s there is tons of fish and that I should have no problem having higher ROI compared to 6 max turbos. Through the sweet sessions with elpsycho I saw tendencies on 1s 3s and 7s already and it is looking very bright for me. Sure, variance can be huge in them, friend recommended 300 buy ins bankroll to play them, but long term they are profitable no doubt - just need to put consistent volume. Finally, I can play 2-3 tables easily this format and with grind habit that I will implement I can increase my hourly significantly more by doing more than 3 tables, ideally getting it to 5 tables totaling about 40+ games per hour.
Thank you for believing in my ability to crush this new format, I am also very sure that I can reach those numbers I set (avg 5% on 7s on a larger sample or 3% on 15s if I decide to play them). The most important thing is 12k$ by the end of this year - everything else poker plan wise fits into that. If I get lucky with some huge multiplier I will welcome it of course but I am making plans for ROI as if I will hit very little to none relying on monthly grind day in and day out.

Crossfit - I stopped it last February 2015! I got sick while in Macedonia in that hotel where I grinded and it lasted for 3 weeks during which I stopped training (had huge cough problems and was getting injections + the sickness could spread to my lungs). Now I weight 88kgs, I can surely go down to 85kg and then set 80kg as a new target. I am waiting for financial situation to improve first (right now have close to 1k$ in my life roll all together), then I will hire cleaning lady and cook as well as go for Crossfit again or hire personal trainer in my area 3-4 times per week. Those things will not cost more than 150$ per month but they are definitely very worth investing in as it will massively affect my energy levels and long term health while in the meanwhile loosing some weight (although people keep telling me I look great - think its all in the energy and attitude that they get around me) Those are the plans for fitness right now. Immediate goals are to start doing push ups at home (do sets of 20-25-30-35 etc) and when weather gets nice go outside the building to run and do some lighter version of Crossfit outside!

I read that you are doing Spins also! How are you doing with them? Wish you all the best Alex!

Some would say what I am doing is admirable and noble, others would always put themselves before helping others. Most of my life I tend to help rather then receive help and there is no other person in this world alive now who deserves my help more than my dad in my life!

Update regarding yesterday 16th of March 2016:

Woke up fairly late due to on going jet lagging. Saw my dad and talked with him for about 1 hour presenting all the plans for the end of this year with poker and music. His support means very much to me now and its always nice to have that family support and push in my life. It is not good when things go other way around because it drains your energy so talking to family and sorting things out is one of the key things for balance I found for me. After hanging out with my dad, went home and studied with elpsycho 3 handed game plan for Spins. Very useful 1 hour study session from which a lot of the things I already knew (90%+) but it was interesting to see how ranges adjust CEV vs ICM. Now I have even better understanding and I will be ready to adjust when I start grinding. In the evening I was teaching my student from Boston via webcam and it went very smooth and great. Happy that my new 12 mbit down and 3 mbit upload internet has no problems so far for my guitar teaching (did 4 lessons in past 2 days, teaching another lesson tonight). In the late evening after finishing guitar lesson, did sweet session with elpsycho on 7s. Saw again huge edge opportunities and very weak plays from whole player pool. Definitely look forward playing that limit within 40ish days from now!

Today already talked with my dad, made some plans with him for tomorrow ; meet with best friend and another good friend for coffee and some grind (best friend was doing 6 max turbos 1.50$ - nothing changed there, still no regs and easily beatable even with large rake %) and now I am back in my new place. Plan for the rest of the day is to : 1) connect my desktop computer 2) study 1 hour with elpsycho (continue with 3 handed play) 3) teach 9-10:30pm 90 minute guitar webcam lesson 4) do 1 hour of grinding (2 or 3 tabling) getting used to 2 different HUDs (3 handed and HU one) on 1$ limit 5) unpack all my stuff from the trip and move
Other things for today, I may meet up with another good friend of mine for coffee and to catch up but I will readjust to that as I have about 10 hours left today for all those things.

Have a productive day on and off the tables!

Quick update:

Installed Poker Stars client on my laptop, played 3 tabling 1$ Spins 1 hour (with some shutting down time in between setting hotkeys and settings) and made 12$ pre RB. This was all without HUD usage. Could have won several more buy ins for sure with HUD. Will play 2 more hours today (1 hour now before study session with elpsycho and 1 hour before bed time).

Warming up for 3$ officially started today!

He there, welcome back also from me - long time no see!

BUT: you could have won several more BI with a HUD? on 1$ spins that you played for 1 hour and only encountered every opponent once, maybe twice? .....
Well.. That is really hard to believe in Spins that last for how many hands? 20?

Hi Sven!
Thanks for the welcome :)
Yeah I could have won some more HU's, it was about their PFR and r/f stats in HU. I was 3 bet shoving some read less strategy things and ran into either very wide r/c from opponents (which could have been avoided with HUD) for 15+bb or they were on top 20% r/c range. Regardless it is very soft, 87 games in, 62.73 chips EV profit per game, running now a bit over EV (should be up 19.38$ but up 29$ in 2 hours and 50 minutes). Will grind 100+ games today and post a graph before bed time. BTW, I am using now general HM2 HUD but that is not enough, I need to work on my HU HUD for HM2 (used to have a great one for PT4!).

The goal is again to get to 7%+ ROI on 3s and have 5% on 7s this whole year. Anything above that is more than welcome. For example 10% on 7s would with solid grind make a hourly worth way over 20$ which is similar to BE to 3% on 15s 6 max SNGs with mass multi tabling!

yeah I am playing some 7$. played a bit more in the summer but i let them away for a period because was a bit to much stress and now i treat it like a side business and i am not at all depended of the money from poker.my goal is to learn as much as i can and play for quality not quantity.anyway i am in Germany now and learning the language and trying to find what i want to do with my life(a job i like doing or a business).i still have free time from my current job and i want to use that playing poker and maybe be able to reach a point where i can live only from poker if i have to make a decision like moving in a other city or study something or simply opening a small business.anyway the next move is to join smart spin team because now profit is not a goal, improving is and learning from someone or with someone is the best for me.

i will def follow your journey!gl

Day 1 of my 1$ Spins grind and getting back into poker!
Some LOL volume:
150 games, 5 hours and 22 minutes grind 3 tabling
"Killer" results:
Profit 30$
EV profit 12.27$
Running above EV obviously (give me 12k$ bink baby!)
For graph hunters:

Could have played much better but considering that I changed the HUD to elpsycho's into the 3rd session and had problems with it + grinded on laptop 3 tabling where that HUD is super small in font (tons of useful info in it) and does more damage then help - definitely look forward to following days to adjust to it properly as I am 3 tabling.
Opponents are not much different then 6 max SNG guys in HU really, especially for limits lower than 15$ for SNGs. I expect 3-4% difference in favor of 1st vs 2nd places as that is the difference I had while doing SNGs. What ROI will that translate into but definitely there is space for higher ROI's compared to turbo SNGs which is very motivating.

Think double digit ROI is possible on 1$ Spins despite high rake but the goal is to start with 3$ games on 1st of April (in 2 weeks with 600$ roll) and then go for 7$ by 1st of May (with 1400$ roll). In March I will just try to grind as much as possible to set up grind routine for following months to come for 7$ limit.

Overall today was great. Teaching 90 minute webcam lesson, studying with elpsycho again over 1 hour and grinding 5 hours and 20 minutes + spent about 2 hours with best friend and another friend for coffee earlier in the day.

Tomorrow I don't have any webcam lessons but I am meeting with my dad and after that two friends at separate times. Expect to be home by 4-5pm and then resume study and grind routine!

Will see how often I will update with those 1$ graphs but for tonight decided just to post the very 1st one - to break the ice, for luck and such poker player reasoning :)

See you around!

Where are you in Germany man? Have some friends there and one of the ex gf's is there (now married) :)
I am not sure about cost of living but Germany is not that cheap compared to Eastern Europe or countries like Czech Republic - or am I wrong?

I wish you to find yourself in job that you truly enjoy doing there!
Poker will always be here one way or the other. If it brings you tons of stress and messes up your life happiness, I would quit it and just dedicate same time to something truly worth it. For me it was always about making a living with it here in Serbia and proving to myself that I can do it despite all the hustle surrounding poker and general public treating it as pure gambling and no skill nor long term profitability in it. Is it ideal job? Far from it. When they regulate taxes for all the countries and markets, it will be even lower hourly (compared to already low hourly). When does it stop being worth it? In Serbia probably never because here in my town salary is 300$ or less per month, that can be made on 1$ limit with heavy grind. But, in USA with jobs starting with 10-12$+ per hour, playing 7$ limits with goal planning studying and stress vs some office job or working in a Dunkin' Donuts with actual benefits - you do the math
BTW, when poker returns to USA I will strongly consider move there ASAP to continue doing music and full filing budget with poker. That would be ideal mix for me and as music income and opportunities grow (full time job in a school) I would then decrease poker. It all comes down to hourly baby!

Heard and read about Smart Spins guys. Used with elpsycho their calculator for ITM and ROI. They seem legit, wish you good luck with that. I know I am not going to join any coaching or staking deal and I am not trying to prove to myself that I can be the best in this - I just want to make 12k by the end of this year. If I bink tomorrow 12k I would cash out and then rest of the year play poker stress free while giving maximum focus to music because that is my ideal scenario.

Let me know how things go with Smart Spins and your 7$ grind!

Thank you sherriffatman!
I am getting back into habit of grinding 1st of all then studying and experimenting with different time managements due to guitar and music lessons along with other things. It will be very hard because I will have to put in consistent poker volume for next 9 months but who knows, I might get lucky before that and bink some huge multiplier and just pull the brake.
In some future updates I will do some more reflecting about USA trip and how it helped me in more ways then one for sure. Some of the key things that I started on working while in Boston is understanding retirement planing, investing and saving money. More on that in very near future and future posts.

Glad to see you and I will see you around forums!

Thank you for the welcome Steve my friend!
Let's use BINK for some insane multiplier on 3$ or 7$ spins
Thanks for believing in my ability to crush this game format - I have a lot of work to do just so you know :)

Keep in touch and thanks for following!

Things that happened past several days

Quite a lot of things happened. I will start with life stuff and then go in depth with poker things.

Life stuff
Taught 9 lessons since I got back to my town 8 days ago and tonight I will teach another one. This is the best and most important progress, one that I plan to keep by end of the year and work on increasing it! With such average I can easily make a living here in my town and even save money which makes 12k by the end of year in savings even easier to reach.
Spent time with my dad every other day or so at least for an hour. Quality time, talked about important life things and plans. We also went to bank together for mortgage monthly installment payments. As I said, I will need to do 12k$ by the end of the year or about 10400 euros. Bank assured us that there won' be any fees for paying things off in advance which is very important to me (those fees can really add up and make a huge difference).
Spent time with several friends for coffee, beer and such. Talking about situation in Serbia and their lives, things seem to go in a very slow pace and not change much. It is something that I noticed in Serbia always especially now that I came back from Boston USA. People here are not motivated, goal driven, they don't push themselves and don't sacrifice. Instead they all expect somebody to hire them and give them good money if possible for them not to work at all for it. Typical behavior here! On the other hand some of my other friends are total opposites from that behavior. They take responsibility for their actions, they have integrity and follow up on their goals and promises. I realize why those guys are among my best friends! I spend the most quality time with them, we talk on daily basis and have real friendship connection. I wish all the people in the world were like that but I have seen lazy demotivated people in USA also (they mostly smoke pot drink and are in massive debt or have rich parents that spoil them!). Anyways, I am happy that I know so many people and that I know who my real friends are. It is one of the most important things in life in my opinion. I try not to rely on anyone but take 100% responsibility for everything I do without blaming or taking results on anyone but myself but it is always good to know that there are special people in my life who give me support and are willing to help without questions asked!
I started doing some exercises at home. Past 3 days I did 10 push ups when I woke up or before bed time. I will start increasing that to 15 then 20, 25 , 30 etc. Goal is to work out at home , do 100 push ups in one work out. As the nice wether starts, I will go for outside run and lighter Crossfit training (squats, burpees, push ups, bench jumps etc). For now I will keep doing things at home and as time management becomes more clear I will find specific time to work out outside as well.

Time management wise, things are organized only for my guitar and music lessons! I don't like that. I can't afford to do 4-5 hours of grinding and 1 hour of studying in next 9 months with such loose time management and system. So I will definitely put aside time to create very steady time management for following areas: 1) Sleeping 2) Eating 3) Working out 4) Spending time with family and friends 5) Studying 6) Grinding 7) Following up with my friends around the world 8) Spending time with some girls
I will finish this time management by the end of March and post it on the blog. The main obstacle will be the fact that on certain days I have 3-4 guitar and music lessons so during those days poker will most likely suffer a lot! From top of my head, I could choose those days to work out and regenerate as well as study. Then on other days when I have 1 to 2 lessons (like today) I can easily do 5 hours of grinding and study plus try to make it up and do even more grinding!
It will be very hard to fit it all in but the priority is 2 jobs, getting OK sleep and eating at least once per day. Everything else will come secondary because goal in my head and on paper is clear 12k by the end of the year!

Things that happened in poker
Started 3 tabling ones for a day or two. Was going up 20-30 buy ins to BE. Then I added 4th table because to reach my goals with maintaining teaching, I need to get to the point of 4 tabling with 5% expected ROI which is about 37% ITM. So I did about 400 games on 1$ Spins with BE results! Nothing weird or unexpected to be honest. I have been out of SNGs for a year so I will need a month or two of steady grind and study habit to regain my knowledge and build up on it. Results will follow for sure I am positive about it. Also on Spins people play different HU compared to HU hypers and SNGs! Also 3 handed tendencies are different. It will take 50+ studying hours just to understand how to maximize EV vs general public tendencies. Some things are very easy to adjust to, some will take more time but I am positive with steady studying with elpsycho and grinding things will fall into the place.
Last night I deposited some extra money to test 3$ limit and it is the same as 1$ so I decided to stay on 3$ and set up a challenge for myself in next 41 days.

Challenge will be to play 6000 games on 3$ Spins, 3 to 4 tabling, with expected ITM of 37% (55 EV Chips) or 4.3% pre RB roi post RB 5.7%
During the challenge I will also study 1 hour per day to improve my game in all areas that require fixing and work hard on playing at least B- game on average during HU's on 4 tables. If 4 tables prove to be too much I will drop to 3 but I am positive I can catch up with 4 it is just the matter of time!

If all works as planed, you will see me on 7$ limit with 200 buy ins or more starting on May 1st. I will then aim to keep average of 100 games per day but either 3 table with solid hours more focus and expect higher ROI, or settle for less ROI with 4 tabling to have extra time in my life for other things.

Challenge is starting today, I already grinded my 1st session on 3$ and I will do another 110 games today to complete 150 games for the day!

Update for the challenge will happen every night before bed time.

Let the games begin! :f_cool:
